I was gonna start a new thread about Unity since I only just decided what npc to root for.
Once there, I realized that not many people talk in there except for typing 2 successive dots to complete their daily unity RoE task of typing twice in the unity chat window.
Maybe I picked a bad time to login and activity was low.
Has anybody found a really lively unity yet?

yeah my unity on Asura was really packed, so much so that I would get booted from chat every so often. Not sure if it still is as I haven't re-subbed yet this month because Smash Bros and new pokemon game and dental surgery = poor, but I plan to resub for at least a couple days before I run outta time to get login points so I can get the gobbue trust -.-
a lot of people do the dot dot thing but I found when you called them out on it or asked a question or whatever that people would get chatting. You can take a look at which unities have how many players in the menu. If yours is really small take a look and join one with more players at the next conquest!

Yeah, the spam quest is kinda silly. Honorable mention to the HP one, too.
If the Unity system itself was more rewarding and less grindy, you'd probably see people chatting more naturally. And while I don't know if the one I joined was the popular one of Sylph, it was largely dead aside from a few NM requests the first day or two.

Just activate the RoE and transport to another location for exp/accolades? o.o

I joined Aldo on Valefor and seems to have a lot of people in it but chat doesn't seem active despite being the more popular choices on the server.
There are JP shouts during the time I play but not much else.
I got to hand it to SE for trying to add party friendly content but on less populated servers getting things done can be pretty frustrating.
