As the title says I'm 'trying' to return to ffxi...was feeling nostalgic I guess and saw that they offered a two week free trial but have been fighting tooth and nail trying to get the process complete. Have been having several issues all over the place. First off it says to me(several gigs later of downloading) that there are no more trial codes available...secondly apparently I have to link my playonline id to my SE account but again fighting tooth and nail to get this done...getting an incorrect password prompt everytime even though I'm sure it's right...don't know what to do. I'm finding the whole process very user unfriendly!
Is there anyway I can retrieve my old playonline ID from years ago? I just made a new one last night and am trying to link it to my SE account but it's not working as I said.
Probably a long shot but wondering if anyone can offer any advice or if they've been down the same road..just feel like i'm fighting just to potentially hand them some money.

I don't think the trial applies to existing accounts, so you'd have to start fresh. If you're forgotten/lost your old info, it kinda sounds like you're being nudged into that direction, too. The only real way I think you can hope to get the info is to call support during their operating hours and have as much info handy as possible like the CD key, (old) billing address, etc.. Even then, they may not help you out.

Honestly, whatever you had, you likely can get back in less than a month. It's probably best to just restart.
