Controlling 6 characters? at the same time?Follow

Yes, yes its 2007.. this will be my 4th year in FFXI hence I am updating (this) my regular annual post. lol!

How's everyone been? thinking about quiting ffxi? or hav actually been set free from the bonds of ffxi? Well, good for you! with all the server improvements and with pol's new intent to enable cross server travel it just makes it harder to quit after all this time. so i say bravo! to those who wer able to leave. Especially when i have and known ppl--some of which ive known since the very start--are still playing the game.

Anyways a little update on myself and my crew of 6 :) ...
crafting is what ive been doing most for the past year now my levels are:
Mightystrikes: Smithing:95+2
Hundredfists: Wood:100+3
Manafont: Bone:100+2
Perfectdodge: Leather:100
Chainspell: Gold:99+3
Benediction: Cloth:0 (my next project cloth to 100 lol)
Mule: Alchemy: 80

I have not been doing any end game stuff yet. maybe someday, but at the moment there's still alot of other things to do. so end game isn't my priority just yet.

my linkshell WindurstShell still survives, altho I accidently threw away my linkshell once! so the linkshell was destroyed and we had to create a new one called TheWindurstShell.. Thankfully, we had a website to collect all the members again.

I have not been playing alot the past 3 months, because ive been working on a new version for linkshells.org. http://www.linkshells.org just like playonline's linkshell community, has not been used often by ffxi players. I dont know why that is, but I'm just glad it's there for my linkshell to use and open for other linkshells to use as well.

I have upgraded my setup quite abit! I have a photo if anyone's curious of what my computer setup looks like: http://www.linkshells.org/albumphoto.aspx?albumid=223&page=1&sortType=6 I now have a 24 inch monitor as my main and 3 are 21 inches lol! i have upgraded several times because at first the computers we're just scraps put together lol.

So that's all for me, but most important thing I wanted to mention is I read alot of questions about if ffxi is dying. well it was dying no question about that cammon let's just face it anyone with a brain would see that. but now it looks like the bleeding's stopped. There has been alot of players coming back and new players joining in--just in the past month alone I think around 10 previous ls members came back to the game. I think pol did well putting a band-aid on the rmt issue. They made a mistake before: They didn't want to act because it meant losing alot of $$$. well there is hope :) they realized they made a mistake, they apologized, they corrected it, and moved on. (not officially apologized tho lol)

hello to all my unicorn server buddies :) and to all our sister linkshells everywhere lol :)

just wanted to say hello, and that i'm on almost my 3rd year in ffxi :p lol. all my characters are level 75 now, i hav 3 crafting guilds almost to 100 :) and this year im planning to level all the armor and weapon crafting guilds to 100. it will be easier now that im almost nearing the end of goldsmithing :)

friends have come and gone, and i'm happy that some have returned to us :) there's some that hav been with me since i was a low level--and they are valued above all else :)

so when will this all end? hmm idk really.. maybe next year. It is true that ffxi will suck ur life away lol. But it is only if you let :)

I wish everyone luck and happiness in your travels :) I wish that we don't lose our sense of adventure and of honor, and to act with decency and respect that our friends on this game deserve.

its almost been 2 years now :) im still not there yet tho :( my characters are level 70 now, been slow, been working hard to pay for the bills :p

i chose this party setup as what im gonna take to a party of 75 someday (altho, i still keep having second thoughts on some jobs):

Hum RNG/WAR /THF /RDM /NIN* -Chainspell
Tar WHM/BLM /THF /SMN* -Benediction
Tar BLM/WHM /THF -Manafont
Tar BRD/SMN /THF /RDM -Perfectdodge
Gal PLD/WAR /THF /RDM* -Mightystrikes
Gal DRG/WAR /THF /RDM* -Hundredfists

the asterisks (*) denotes subs that i wanna level when i hav time someday lol. all my characters hav flee, which looks funny when u see it. the RDM subs is for sneaking :) sometimes i split them into 2 groups camping 2 spots, but on some occasions i need to split them 6 different ways with sneak/invis on :(

before u guys criticize my party setup lol :p i chose this coz i wanted a well-balanced, well-rounded, flexible party. a party that can be good for anything, can go anywhere, has alot of overlapping job functions. i really didnt want to specialize into one aspect of the game - in other words.. i just wanted to be as flexible as possible. :)

i gotta say tho, the hardest thing in this game isnt leveling up or quests and whatnot. the hardest thing is keeping a linkshell together throughout all this time. i am still with the best and most honorable people in our server, and its well worth all the hardships :)

as of now, im busy crafting :) crafting crafting and more crafting :) i need new armor lol. ive been spending gil on goldsmithing for a long time, thats why my characters at 70 still wear AF gear hahaha.. most of my accessories and weapons are still level 55-60s lol, heck im still using a stupid level 50 bow hahaha.

im level 72 goldsmithing and most of my other crafts are close to 60 except leathercrafting which is 12 :( but mightystrikes is level 85 cooking, and hundredfists is level 97 woodworking. I'm still thinking of the other 3 crafts i should level - i know 100smithing is a must for me since goldsmithing will be my main thing. maybe alchemy will be my 5th craft so i can make my own potions and stuff.

anyways, sometimes i look at the game and say 'wow they really made a good game'. :) and years after release the graphics and the detail and the plethora of things to do and new areas to go to still makes me say 'wow they really made a good game'.

I just wanted to see if anyone else out there is as freaky as i am :) I basically control 5 characters with 5 computers on 5 keyboards with 5 accounts all at the same time, using just in-game macros.

Here are my characters that I control together and leveled up all at the same time, that's why i don't need to party...

Wow you really make me feel better about my time spent on this game lol. But, kidding aside, If I had the brain power to do that I would too, I just wouldn't be too happy about paying that much but if you have time and money then that is amazing.

OMG if that is true it is absolutely amazing. You must have amazing Dexterity. Please explain how you pull that off. I'd love to know how you can keep up all at the same time. What happens if you catch agro and need to zone all 5 at once? I assume you have escape? Do u do missions and quests like that too? How do u move around? TELL ME TELL ME!!!!

Yes its true he dose run them all and thers two other sets like this I have seen in Wind. One is a group of Miths named affter SC and a set of Female Hums named affter variouse areas tho I have only seen them once hehehe my LS always gets a chucle out of Chain and his one man party.

I don't get it, and honestly, that's a bit far fetched. Even if you could possibly pull that off, it rediculous.

A) What's the point of playing?
You never have any interaction between other players

B) You saying you have no life is an understatement.
The extra time all of us spend to make gil/farm etc,
multiplied by 5, is essentially nonstop playing.

C) IMO, a 5 person party just doesn't cut it. I don't see how a
handicapped person could come out on top.

and 4) Ok, so maybe you do this. God help you.

He's a hacker. I believe that. There just isn't enough time in one's life to do all that! Unless you absolutely spend all your time glued to a computer screen. And don't tell me you started on the NA version with out some type of hacking...that's fkn impossible.

Come back and tell me how you're doing when you try to fit that RDM into the PT after lvl 41 :)

LOL thats pretty funny. No way in hell i would spend more than $14 for my character and 2 mules, I'm just really curious.

you.. YOU!! damn.. I've seen you around, and have a screenshot of your party in windurst.. never thought it was just one person (good fckin job with that!)

it IS possible. he says he uses macros, and he's in control of everything.. it's just damn complicated.

I've seen a group of 3 in Dangruf Wadi quite some time back.. forget their names, but they were similar. All controlled by oner person, and you could kinda tell that..
