Guess this is a good a place as any to post this. Don't think it deserves its own thread.
My NPC just dinged 52 tonight and I got offered the Weapon Upgrade #3. The main NPC post on KI lists the following as weapon upgrades:
Cesti> Bronze Knucks> Brass Knucks.
Bronze Dagger> Brass Dagger> Dagger
Bronze Sword> Spatha> Bee Spatha.
Claymore> 2hnd Sword> Falx
Butterfly Axe> Great Axe> Heavy Axe.
Bronze Zahgnal> Brass Zahgnal> Scythe
Harpoon> Bronze Spear> Brass Spear
Kunai> Wakashi> Shinobi-gatana
Ugchigatana> Tachi> Nodachi
Bronze Hammer> Brass Hammer> Warhammer
Ash Staff> Holly Staff> Elm Staff
I tried to upgrade my weapon to a Falx first and then a Brass Spear, then a Great Axe. Neither one worked. I also tried about 3 other Great Swords that might be upgrade options but none of those worked either. The great swords I tried unsuccessfully were:
-Falx
-Greatsword
-Mythril Claymore
-Royal Swordsman's Blade
Hopefully I can find the right one before I run out of money!

Warhammer dont work just tryed it after luto asked for new weapons nor does brass hammer, mace, platoon mace, eremite's wand or maul.

I recently got the 3rd item list too, and was unable to trade brass spear to her. However, she did say something diffrent than the other two times it was time for a relic upgrade. Since trade is now a new option when selecting NPC, maybe we have to trade directly to NPC now? I would test this, but do not have call up. The poster who got the scythe did say he traded it to NPC... so..

How do you make more headgear available? Mine I have only been able to choose between nothing and bronze cap for several lvls.
How do you access the second quest that strengthens your bonds?

Talked to Luto, she asked about the 3rd weapon update and I traded the Scythe to her. This is at level 53 npc if it makes any difference.

Is there anything special you need to do in order to do the 2nd weapon upgrade? My NPC's Lv46, and I'm still unable to do it ; ;

Does anyone know if there is any way to recharge this? Or if the Promyvion quest is repeatable to get the item again?

about the Promy quest. its the ??? on the first floor? or can it spawn on any floor
From everything I've read/experienced, the ??? only spawns on the first floor.
What are the prerequisites for the Tactics Pearl quest? My NPC is level 35 and I don't have any quests flagged relating to the NPC. My LS friend was unable to flag it as well, his NPC being Lv37, but he had Past Reflections flagged.
Today mine said to me:
"I've never had signet casted on me. I wonder what it feels like?"

From what it seems, and my own experience, you have to complete the Past Reflections quest, then summon your NPC again 2-3 times before your NPC will give you the quest.
What exactly does the Tactics Pearl do?
I've had people tell me it allows the NPC to level 1-4 times in one session but that just seems way too farfetched.

It allows you to summon your NPC again, just like the Signal Pearl, but with a very low recast timer (10 min), and a limited number (4) of charges. I haven't seen any other effects than that. *shrug*

Given that you can call your NPC out 4 times in a row (5 w/Signal Pearl), and given my own experience with NPC lvling speed, this would allow 2-3 levels to be gained in a day, but only once, since there isn't a known way to recharge the Tactics Pearl (yet, if ever).

For the tactics pearl quest, what if you mess up? I went to Holla with a group of 4, went inside, did the rendesvous point spawning my NPC. My party leader then fires up an alliance without asking and my NPC promptly disappears. I dropped party, but I can't resummon her.

I am yet to get that option... even though my NPC is lvl 44 and yes I have called her about 40 times atleast, as I did lvl my SMN from 22-30 and couple of BST job lvls from 67/68 and while I was hunting for my BST test. at 66/68/70 I used my NPC.
I didnt give my NPC the second weapon when I was given the quest for it, I think that stoped me from getting this option... anyone else have this problem ?
and I am yet to get the new quests for NPC is there any requirements for the quest ?

I don't know if this is accurate. I can't activate it yet, and I'm pretty sure I'm maxed out at level 50, and I did A Pose by Any Other Name and the first Luto quest. But I have "A Question of Taste" activated in Kahzam which also involves Angelica. Maybe that's why I can't get the quest?
I finially got the Empty quest. Went to Holla Rondv. pt. and went in search of the ??? got aggro, ran back to tele and got outta there, came back in and NPC doesn't come now.
Went back to Juneo and don't have the quest anymore.
I'll take him out again when its time and then check back to see if I got it again.
