Welcome to...

FFXI Video Library
Brought to you by Allakhazam, FileFront, and the letter P.

Video Thread Synopsis
The major downfall of the original thread was some if not all of the hosts spontaneously exploding. When it came down to videos I was recieving vs figuring out what to do with hosting, I was overwhealmed. Took me a while to think of a viable solution, granted with the help of Sarlos and other posters that nudged me towards that direction.

That direction was FileFront. For legal issues, I will state that I'm not an employee of Allakhazam nor am I an employee of FileFront. I'm but a mere consumer of both. All trademarks goes to wherever they belong with a side order of cheddar.

The plan is to have ALL videos off of a single host. Like that, it's easier for me to not only manage, but also keep up, running, and alive.

Submitting a Video
On the old system, you would either give me the file to find a host for OR you would host the file yourself and I just add the link to the list. While this idea seemed good at first, not everyone is going to keep that host up and running for wave after wave of new-gen posters and players. Most of the problem with the thread is that most of the original makers of the video actually stopped playing the game entirly and felt no need to continue hosting. Heck, Karg the Vile, the original grand poobah of video whoring, departed.

With the new system, we will not have that problem. I, to this day, have no intention of not only not quiting FFXI, but heck, I've made too many friends in Allakhazam to ever turn my back. Thus, my single host; my single FileFront account will keep all of us at the office in dire need of even watching FFXI videos satisfied.

There are a number of ways to get your video on my FileFront account and thus viewed by Allakhazam:

-Get a temp host and then get my attention. Either PM me here, post in this thread just like the good old days, or toss me an IM at the screen name Sir Exodus on AOL Instant Messenger.. I will download the video then upload it, maintaining all videos on one host.

-With said IM service, you may also just send me the file through there.

-You may give me cheese.

This will insure that the quality of the thread remains optimal. Also, due to unforseen yet comical circumstances, my FileFront account has premie access: no wait time for end users!

The Videos
Finally, after many moons of waiting, FileFront has reinstated the File Manager which allows me to better organize the files.

FileFront limits you if you don't have preimium...which I have.

Shouldn't be a problem. That, and FileFront is easier to manage. Just be patient. Smiley: tongue

Doing my ZMs at the moment, so I'll upload what just got posted afterwards.

Also, if you guys want, I can leave the links to the directories up...or I can also link to each individual file for the lazy.

    Lemme know what you'd prefer.

I think the current list of links to the categories is the best approach. Oh, and for my help in spurring Exodus to getting this up and running again, donations of food, gil, and mithra may be made to Imrahil of Cait Sith.

Edit: I have a 5gb uncompressed video of a more standard approach to fighting Ouryu. We had a Pld, Drk, Drg, Whm, Blm, and Rdm. Once I get this compressed and uploaded to my own FileFront account, I will let you know. Also, feel free to grab the panicking taru video or anything else from my FileFront account and host it on yours.

Edit 2: My FileFront account is linked in my poster profile, but if you feel too lazy to check, here is a link.

So do I, now that I think about it. An LS member of mine did a DRG Maat fight and I think did the final ZM mission.

Speaking of which, I was able to fight all 4 NM pops from those cerment stones this passed weekend. Smiley: grin Finally got ZM5 done.

    Yay! Congrats! Smiley: grin

In retrospect, I could have had a very very cool video last night from Dynamis-Bastok. We executed a complete zone clear and had about ten minutes left to roam freely through a completely empty Dynamis-Bastok. The real funny part came when we went to kill the 'Shield' mobs (their exact name escapes me) and our timed Thundaga 3 left a few alive... Our Black Mages got smacked around pretty good, but we managed to finish them off with minimal trouble. Smiley: lol

It was real wedding, too. I only found it weird that they were both the same exact toon. Gave me too much of an "incest" trip which I did't like.

Other then that, it was neat that they arranged it so well.
