So...do we get compensated for dead garden, missed runs, etcFollow

#1 Mar 12 2007 at 4:39 PM Rating: Default
I was just wondering. No doubt by now my 100K garden crop is withered by now, my buddy confirmed my Limbus set got Omega drops while I could not get on so I missed the glove I have been after and my dynamis set probably did a run on Saturday. I do not know if my relic boots dropped but if it did will SE compensate me for the missed opportunity of this and my other mis-fortunes which is not my fault?

The problem is that you are assuming that because the problem is not your fault that it is SE's fault. What about all the internet spaghetti between you and them?

How has SE prevented you from downloading the update? Yeah it took a lot longer than usual, 5 hours for me on Wednesday night. I hear it took some 9+ hours who weren't on broadband.

But it's been FIVE days now, lol. What has stopped you from downloading during this time?

And for gardening, I can say without a doubt that the growing process is suspended during the actual maintainence time. I've been gardening earth ores for over three years, and keep track of the feed times & harvest times down to the minute. Every time there is a maintainence scheduled, the times get thrown off by the time of the scheduled maintainence. For example, if plants were scheduled to be harvested Saturday night at 9:00pm, I couldn't actually do it until after 5:00am the next day.

He's probably referring to the problems some people are having in getting online/getting dced after the update, not downloading the actual update.

Omg it's not SE's fault, don't you know by contracting part of your equipment out to a third party, it makes your company not accountable.
Oh, wait, no that's not the way consumer laws work.....

Should they, absolutely, will they, not a chance.
I wish you 1000000000% havest success on your next growing cycle my friend. We all are going to end up eating dirt (full of withered plants) this time around.

I was about to go do CoP Mission 6-4, the Ultima/Omega fight on the airship. I made a promise to myself that I'd get sea this week, since I have off from class. I was heading to Sealion's Den to get the cutscene, and wait for everyone else to get there. Then I get the dreaded R0 I've heard so much of. I try to log in as my main character, and I keep getting R0ed. I can log into my mules fine, but not my main character. I bought a new reraise earring, I bought like 3-4 yagudo drinks, and a PCC pump (40k). This left me with very little money, since I had little money to begin with. I started with +70k gil, now I have 5.7k gil. I can't get into the BC, I can't even get on my Character to do anything else. I finally manage to get someone else to log onto my character and zone me out to Aht Urhgan. That was Saturday-Sunday. Now it's Monday night, and the same people who were doing the Ultima-Omega Mission are now, as we speak, preparing for the Tenzen battle, the battle RIGHT BEFORE you get sea access.

I'm a BLU. My BLU is 71, my DRK is almost 72. I haven't leveled my BLU in awhile because I want my friggin' sea spells so I'm not gimp. Now I can't get my sea spells since I still don't have sea access. SE, by not fixing the problem, has me screwed, since I'm afraid to try to go into Sealion's Den since I figure I'd be stuck in the same problem I had before.

Thanks a lot SE. You cost me sea for your damn ***** ups. Now I'm near broke until I can get a BCNM run and hit it lucky, AND I have to wait until the problem's fixed before I can try to get into Sealion's Den.

Some of you guys are talking about downloading the update. I am not talking about that, I am talking about the timeout error when logging on. I already have the update. So much for your wasted and dumb sarcasm.

And no it is not my ISP fault as my internet is fine. It is squarely on SE's shoulder.

From a professional standpoint, yes. Anyone who has called or wrote in the past five days and until the problem is fixed (even if its not in SE's servers which they have yet to prove), players should be credited towards their monthly service. Its good for the integrity of the company for them to say "yeah, there was a problem and it was not with the end user's equipment or their ISP so we will knock off a percentage of next month's charge.

I've said on another thread that people should be calling SE and asking for some sort of reimbursement. If the rep you speak to refuses, ask a supervisor. If a supervisor refuses, ask a manager. If the manager refuses, then contact the Better Business Bureau. I'm not sure what they could ultimately do but it would make things interesting. This is my plan.

If you come onto the boards and complain and cry about lost time, then you do not deserve compensation because there are people who have no issues. When you submit an e-mail from their web site or when you call up, you give them your Player ID. They know who you are so they know who has officially logged a complaint.

The same theory applies if the problem was really with your ISP. But then again, you would not be connecting online and reading this from home. But you should call/write and ask them. Maybe SE will learn from this. Maybe they will turn to their ISP and ask them for their money back as well. Do not believe it is automatic. Rarely ever happens in my line of work.

Edit: From a SE point of view: GTFO!!!!
