We travel into the past in the future, counting from the time we did our limit breaks/helped others.
I went into Eldieme during the live demo; the quest is actually started inside of it. It's a supply post managed by Bastok in the past, no mobs as far as I could see. I have no idea where to get vellum, though.

And on a more upsetting subject, I kind of had a feeling that the WoTG shipment was going to get messed up somehow. If I remember correctly, CoP got delayed due to a hurricane.

Seriously, you won't be @#%^ing happy until SE releases a full sized Bahamut avatar you can @#%^ing ride and use to kill players that annoy you, one shot AV/PW/Shinryuu, and burn the FFXI nations to the @#%^ing ground for fun. All while actually restoring mp used instead of costing any.

I also cannot start the Dancer quest right now from Laila. Makes sense you would need the expansion installed and activated to be able to start the quest.
Anything related to the expansion (like the Dancer Flag) probably wont say or do anything until the ON switch for the content is hit. I remember when ToA came out, everyone knew where to get the Board Permit to travel to Aht Urgan, so a flood of people were camping the NPC. He did not say anything different until the designated time came (and IIRC, they had a message saying ToA is now open, something like that).
Expect a flood of people to be standing at the Dancer NPC at the day of the content's launch. Hopefully, if I ever get my PC copy in time, I'll be apart of that rush :D.

No, because it's not like we don't have a past. It's us from a day or so Earth time in the future now (or would be however far into the future from when you did G1) going back to the Crystal War time to farm the "ancient papyrus."
Of course, I bet I know why Maat really wants it. >.> He'll start selling it tomorrow and make a fortune off of people wanting to do the SCH quest. :D
Seriously, is the vellum ra/ex? If not, I imagine it'll be pretty pricey for a while.

I can kind of understand their not wanting ppl to think the game was Vista only. I can't stand Vista personally. The book of Vista bugs is like 2 inches thick and growing. So I wouldn't have been happy if I saw that. However, they could have just put out a post on the website saying "Oops, it's Vista COMPATABLE, not ONLY, sorry!" And printed the rest of the boxes properly. Ah well. Patience is a virtue, unless mummies and zombies are involved.
Found Laila (was a bit hard to miss really) but what had me rolling for a minute was the Mithra and Galka dancing in front of her. Props to SE for making the Galka dance actually look manly. I do intend to lv DNC (bearded hume! whoo!) But I will never EVER wear that AF headpiece. I don't care if it gives me Regen III, infinite TP and Sentinel.
OK, I might do it for the infinite TP. But only in pts.
I swear I have seen people synthing Vellum already...

Lol, I remember that one. I ended up standing in line for about an hour for that. At least ppl had a code of conduct and ppl were helping each other out, buffing others, healing ppl struggling against the NM (still had lowlvs back then, don'tcha know), that sort of thing. And heaven forbid if someone broke line. I saw pearls broken, blacklists expanded and friendships damaged because of that.

^^^ this **** here cracks me up it seems like only time in game there was a line for something I didnt do the npc first day I waited by why the hell should anyone treat it any different then any thing else in the game I never understood why people made a line and followed it for this its not like people will do that for NMS or hell even xp camps

Recipe for vellum is dark crystal + sheep leather + rolanberry + gold dust apparently.

Its always our current selves, our current selves have farmed for GK, our current selves will travel into the past but will remain our current selves. The only time our selves would become past/future selves would be if we were able to meet ourself from a different time period, then we would refer to the "other self" as the self from either our past (past self) or future (future self).
I went to Jugner Forest (S) and lake. I touched Glowing Pebbles but it is nothing happen.....
