I'm only level 10 and I already am getting impatient to get my sub job! I picked up all the WHM spells from mobs lately and it makes me really look forward to getting my sub job. Nothing much really happened yesterday, don't think I ever died... I did complete 3-5 quests so I suppose thats good. I was told to wait to do missions until I get WHM up to the level where you can use invisible spell.

I am beginning to wonder if I need to move out of East and West Saru pretty soon, everything in both those zones is rated as easy prey or easier. I know it was mentioned that at level 10-12 I should get a PT and go to Dunes or something like that, but should I go anyhwere before that?

Thanks,
Twadd

the Dunes is where most people go at level 10+ and as a Blm you should get into parties fairly easy assuming there are people around to make one.

At around level 10, you might be able to take some weaker mobs in Tahrongi Canyon, but I find it is quicker and safer to fight easy prey mobs in Sarutabaruta until level 11-12. If you are starting to look for parties, you could take the boat from Mhuara to Selbina then solo in the areas surrounding the dunes, Konschtat Highlands and La Theine Plateau.

When you do head over to the dunes, check your region map before you leave Windurst (can be done with /rmap), if Windurst is in control of the zulkheim region, you'll want to do a supplies run to the outpost. Talk to the gate gaurd to start the run then talk to the npc at the outpost. After that, you can warp from/to the dunes to/from Windurst for a small fee.

Hi twadd you can carry on soloing stuff in giddeuos or tahrongi canyon at lvl 10+ only thing is in giddeous its full of birdmen and they do and will link, so be very careful the ones as you enter might still be easyprey or weaker but the further south you travel in that area the stronger they enemies will be.

Yep, 10+ is when people start heading to the Dunes.

If you want my email/AIM or something so you can contact me when you're ready to head there, let me know.

If the trek to Valkurm Dunes is a bit daunting, I recommend soloing worms in Giddeus for a few more levels.

My recommendation if you do go the dunes, try to pick up as much gear and spells you can for leveling all the way to 18. Leaving the dunes on your first job is never easy.

I don't if anyone mentioned this before, either, but when you do start travelling, remember to pick up the telepoint crystals in Tahrongi Canyon, Konschtat Highlands, and La Theine Plateau.

You don't have to wait until you get whm to 25 to start missions. (25 is the level whms get invisible) Depending on where your nation is, you can solo beginning missions at 10, earlier it you have someone to duo with. At level 25, I had Rank 5 on Wench. (Yeah, I had high level help and protection, but point is, you can start them earlier than level 25.) Good Luck Twadd.

I was wondering myself, how far can I go with this thing. I can tell you one thing though, Don't expect a post from me tomorrow because I wont be playing tonight. I know I know... sad. :) So day 6 will be two days from now. Hope you can be patient and wait until then. Not sure if I'll always have interesting things to say but I'll try to find something interesting to say every day :).

Thanks,
Twadd

Perhaps you should get a blog, and update that? People would be less annoyed if you did. ^^

I've been enjoying Twadd's adventures. Perhaps if you've been annoyed at these posts, you could simply click on other posts?

That's not what I meant.

In now way did I say that I did not enjoy them, because I do, but it would be better if Twadd had a blog, that's all i'm saying.

It would be easier to keep up with for those of us who don't check Alla all the time, too. ;_; And it could be decorated with screenshots of Twadd's adventures.

Yeah, Twadd you should consider setting up a blog, including some screen shots of your recent achievments, and if you're playing on PC even record some of your adventures and stream them through youtube =]

-And yes, you should continue soloing easy preys and Decent challenges if u can find some till level 11, then go to the dunes, your first adventure to the dunes is always a tedious one and can seem quite daunting but keep it up!

you could also do something like a livejournal kind of thing. i know some people on my LS have them, and use that as a way to let people know what's up.

i use it, and use weblinks from photobucket for the pics to be listed. it's fun :)

at 10 you can make the trip to the dunes if you would like.

Or goto Giddues and fight worms and birds and bees until 12-15 (the deeper you go the stronger they get).

I say keep soloing until 12-15ish.

10-15 in the dunes can suck..a lot. but 15+ can go by a tab bit smoother.

Or if you think you have it in you..you could solo all the way to 75.

I can se the post now...

"Day 1,235"

i dinged 75 BLM.

would be cool...

A blog huh? Would I be able to get all the comments and stuff on a blog? If I'm playing on a XBox 360 can I still get screenshots to my computer somehow?

On a different note... On FFXI my character is now wearing a tunic... which has a hood. Yesterday I took my 3 kids sledding and they all wore these goofy head and neck things and my kids looked exactly like my character I thought it was the most hilarious thing. My wife thought I was disturbed though :).

Thanks for the info and good night.

If you have a POL email address like those of us that play on PC do, you can email the screenshots to your regular email address, upload them to a site like Photobucket or ImageShack, then post them on your blog.

I personally prefer LiveJournal for a blog (though I've been posting my Madden 2008 game scores from my simulated Packers season lately), but I know alot of people that use Blogger. You can set LJ up so anyone can post, or only people on your friends list can post.

Before you go to the dunes, be sure to grab a few necessary spells for when you level, fire, blizzard, etc.

Most blog software allow for comments, yes. In fact, you'll have control over the comments. I use LiveJournal myself as well.

LiveJournal is pretty nice for general use, and you can upload icons which could be taken from screenshots (say, have one for /laugh, one for /angry, etc.) or art of your character, if you wish. Something you can also do on LJ is join communities devoted to different subjects, and there are a few different FFXI ones out there.
