Mythic Weapon TestingFollow

Hi again,

Darkdoom and I just got back from "The Swarm"

Basically we were in a party of six, WAR, MNK, THF, RDM, WHM, BLM.
All of us had mythic weapons and so Darkdoom and I did some testing.

I had the pleasure of taking MNK, Darkdoom took WAR:

http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj249/Tummie_Garuda/FFXI%20Fan%20Fest/1228601645.jpg

What we noticed:

When you use aftermath, you can an icon that looks similar to DNC steps with a number. When you use the mythic ws with 100% TP you get a number 1, when you use it with 200% you get a number 2, and when you use it with 300% you get a 3. You can stack the aftermath effect thereby increasing the duration of the effect (hence the numbers). The max number appeared to be 3.

The augments berserk effect seems to add 5% attack to berserk totalling 30%. Darkdoom started off with 396 attack and with berserk it jumped to 515 which is about 30% increase instead of the 25%. With Aftermath and no berserk it was 449, with berserk + aftermath it was 584. Aftermath gives +50 Attack at 100% TP. Any 1% after seems to add a little more so it scales with TP. Possibly +1 attack for every ~2% of TP. As far as the reports on the criticals the mobs we fought were very very weak and normal criticals were doing 700-750 with Conquerer (Well beyond the pdif cap) but with aftermath they were doing 950-1000 so it appears that aftermath has a hidden 150% bonus to crits.

For the MNK I tested, the Augments Focus and Dodge doesn't increase the duration, so it probably adds something we are not sure. We believe that when you use the ability or trait that it trigers the super crits during Aftermath but we are going to go back and test it out

It is difficult to determine what Augments Focus + Dodge really did. But aftermath seemed to be locked or broken on the one I was using because my attack stayed at 369 after using aftermath. Also Vivix tested BLM but he had a statless BLM weapon, the one you get when you finish Task and Duties. We are all going back again to do more testing.

I think the question of the day is.

Do you have to be under aftermath effect to double attack with the weapons?

Wouldn't say that. DIdn't square say they would buff up the relics to keep them in top?

Copying my other post. This is info about blm mythic. All my tests were done without aftermath effect. ES still wears after 1 nuke, but there is indeed a damage bonus.

New numbers. It was thunderday so I used aero. I took off all gear. Day was Lightning, Light. Elvaan F blm/rdm with 66 int.

Mob: Poison leech (outside)
Spell: Aero
Naked: 67
Staff: 77
Seal: 84

Mob: Crawler (inside)
Spell: Blizzard
Naked: 68
Staff: 79

Mob: Adamantoise (inside)
Spell: Blizzard III
Naked: 447
Staff: 515

Mob: Adamantoise (inside)
Spell: Blizzard III
Staff: 525
Seal: 566

Enjoy. Sorry it was disorganized, kinda too much to do.

Have to have aftermath effect to get Double Attack. We also noticed that critical hitrate increased as well as the dmg it did. We got to do "The Swarm" a total of 5 times.

Incredibly fun. But yeah, Mythic Gaxe seemed to jump up to 90~% crit hit rate when berserk was up(wether or not Aftermath effected this, it was hard to tell.)

URL?

Seriously the only thing I've ever heard them say on this is that the mythics wouldn't be as powerful as the relics and that they would be easier to obtain. The latter is an obvious lie and I can only assume the former is as well.

It was at last years Fanfest that they responded to this question I believe. To me it sounded like they would buff zilart relics, but I know their response was up for interpretation.

If they dont buff relics and keep mythics like this, I think a lot of people are going to be really disappointed.

Didn't see it posted, but the rdm was sub war, and the thf and the whm were off-handing KC's. only time I think I will ever see a KC dropped on purpose, after a fight.

Of course it depends on how much the original ones sucked. I'm pretty sure "weaker than claustrum" is an oxymoron.

Theres weapons more insulting, such as the Laevateinn, which shows SE even when attempting to make a good weapon for blm. Fails Absolutely.

Honestly, how often do you melee or even ws as blm? No, you stay back and nuke. SE created one, so every job would have a weapon, but are they all necessary/useful?

They should be. At the very least, 'mage' mythics should give the same inventory advantage that relic horn gives BRDs. Nobody is getting rich off elemental staves, and it's not like SE hasn't ****** over every other craft with far easier to obtain R/Ex drops than a mythic.

Other than maybe the mage mythics, the mythics are essentially jacked up merit weapons.

The way it looks, is mythics are for things you can free melee and spam tp, and roz relics are for things you need big individual numbers on.

I think it was just with berserk only since I tried not to WS too much outside Swarm and I was still getting insane crits.

Mandalic Stab is not a merit WS, it's for high defense endgame mobs (it has a 1.66 attack multiplier) Looking at all the other stuff Vajra will add (SATA boost, free meat + sushi, double attack) Mandau starts to look crappy by comparison.

Mercy Stroke: ftp 3.0 STR60%

Mandalic Stab: ftp 2.0/2.125/2.5 Attack*1.66 DEX30%

Lower ftp and secondary mods, but that attack multiplier is huge and with the double attack effect on aftermath you will have 300% TP before your next SATA is ready. Not to mention the attack boost from aftermath will be multiplied as well. And because it basically has built in meat and sushi you can pop a red curry get double minuet and go apesh*t on Tiamat or whatever.

It was nice knowing ya Mandau.
