Just wondering if the patch did it, and if so- how long does it usually take to get an updated version?

Version updates usually change the memloc, that's the issue. Kinematics has been MIA a while though, not sure when it's going to get fixed. Whoever maintains DirectParse might know the new memloc by now though, and it should work for kparser too.

When I played, Kparser had a direct impact on my enjoyment. I enjoy being the best I can be. Kparser allowed me to get concrete evidence on what gear worked better in different situations and what actions had a more direct impact on what was going on in the party. If used simply for the epeen and the "I'm winning the parse!", then it's still adding to the fun but isn't being used as constructively as it could. Just because someone's enjoyment is different from yours doesn't mean they're doing it wrong.

For once? The only time I ever enjoy the game is when I know I'm putting out more impressive numbers than the other guy.

I usually waited til they were done with their "emergency maintainences" before I started looking for the memloc. Each update has a chance to break it. It once changed seven times in seven days after one of the updates a year or two ago due to all the small changes.

I've been too lazy to debug it, but Kparser doesn't even boot for me to the point where I can change the memloc. It shows up in task manager and a window at the bottom of my screen, but there's not active window at all. I find it hard to believe FFXI would not allow it to boot altogether although the update is when this stopped working.

(still works on my laptop, which I have not downloaded the update for yet, perhaps I'll try that this weekend)

I had 1.2.0 kparser up on filefront for a friend, but was just informed by someone in the other thread that you can download all previous versions of Kparser by filtering the download list to view all.

My 1.2.0 version works with winXP SP3 32 bit, and as far as I know it is a very stable version. I only have a 3ghz P4 and 1gb of ram and an old 5900nvidia card, and Kparser does not slow my system down with any weird quirks or memory issues or CPU intensity. I suggest starting at 1.2.0 and working your way up the kparser versions until you find one that works best for ya.
