Funny, but I'd have laughed if they were sitting at a table sipping tea while waiting on the Dragoon. Possibly involving top hats. Just sayin'.

I considered in the third frame having the wyvern say, "She's gonna be up there for a while, wanna go grab a bite to eat?" Then at the last panel have them sitting there like you said and have the same dialogue.

Quickly redo it to that, before anybody else notices it's friday.

Meh, I got bored halfway through. Ended up with this cause I didn't want to figure out how to make all the speech bubbles work.

First I was like: "WTF, DRG update?"
Then I was like: "Super, Super Climb!!"

I also approve of the above, changing the final frames so they are sipping Chai at the Shararat Teahouse. I sipped some Chai yesterday and it didn't go too well in Dynamis-Bastok (PLD).

Happy Friday has really evolved and I'm happy to see the overall trend of improvement in both artwork and comic originality Smiley: thumbsup

I like that one, especially the "speed lines" in panel two.

I was going to try to make the last frame more FFXIy but as I said, the inability to use anything better than Paint was making it difficult. I had a semi background made, but when I went to shrink it to fit the frame, it got all screwed up.

9.5/10 (might deserve a 10, but i never give 10/10 for anything, for any reason, and i don't think it quite deserves an 11/10).

I agree that the comic is getting better in both style and humor.

The tea idea was also hilarious.

Pretty good. Decent humor, flow of 'story', size of image (a few from a month or two ago forced you to lean close to the screen to read the fine print, even with glasses on). Only downside is it could have used some gray shading to differentiate parts of the DRG, Wyvern, and Mamool Ja.

I don't think color would have worked; it would have taken away from it (unless perhaps the colors were very pale or dim, subdued not loud colors). Some things just look good in B&W (/Munsters, Addams Family, Twilight Zone).

As for the other ending, both were funny. Either would have sufficed, though I think the going for tea would have had more of a punch to it.

It seems the Happy Friday comics have pulled out of their doldrums with the last few strips. I moved to rate you up only to find the upper right corner blank. Probably the one downside to being karma-immune.

How about a separate thread from the Happy Friday comics- MS Paint Masterpieces, attempts to paint portraits like in the classic painterly manner using MS Paint. Could be figures like Cid or famous monsters like Bubbly Bernie (I'd actually like to see a real portrait of Bubbly Bernie by the lighthouse using the impressionistic style, though a Munch Scream interpretation of LFG in Jeuno might be interesting or someone photoshopping a Cavernous Maw into an 1800s landscape painting). Or maybe 8-bit renderings of Prishe, Lilisette, Promathia, Atomos and the like. Pics of the NES's 54 or 55 color palette are out there (don't forget Prussian Blue and lots of happy little trees).

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

Not only does Super Super Jump erase hate BUT it also breaks the fabric of time and space that leads you back in time to the days of lulzDRG sitting around for hours looking for a group.

What have they done?!

Good comic this week.

If that was a strip, the punchline could be not a drawn final panel but a real life photo of a cosplay person in DRG AF with a stuffed animal Wyvern sitting somewhere with a LFG icon can appear over their head. They would have broken through the fabric of cyber space-time and into the real world space-time.

Or maybe there can be a strip about a DRG going back in time to Campaign, only Atomos' wormhole hits a hitch (solar flare, sends 'em back in time but across dimensions) and use the final panel as drawings/paintings of a 1600s or so European war with actual dragoons, just photoshop in the little Campaign swords over their head.
