I need some help if possible. Some members of my grp, namely me and two others explored this place up and down getting all the way to the NM spawn for Garden access, and exploring areas out of the way.

I heard you have to talk to all the NPC in there for the map. I thought we did that. We explored every nook and cranny, I even printed off a map and marked it up with everything from NPC escort paths, to where the eggs are and which rooms had NPC's in them. We have talked to 7 NPC's total. I spoke with each twice just to be safe.

Can anyone inform me as to how many NPC there in this zone. Those of you who have gotten maps anyway. Thanks in advance.

I don't remember how many NPCs there are total in the palace, but as I posted in an earlier thread about these maps, if you take your time on the way to the Mission NM, and widescan along the way, there are only 2 you should miss. One is in the Northwest tower (I forget which floor, sorry) who says something about Ro'Mauve and Fei'Yin. The other is in the Southeast tower, who says something with a long number in it.

To get to the Northwest tower NPC, I believe you can just go west from the NM pop area (it's been a couple months though). For the Southeast tower, go from the entrance to the northeast tower, then change floors, then go to the southeast tower, change floors again, then proceed counterclockwise around the tower. You must do 2 of the escorts to get to this one. Very likely one or both of these NPCs are the only ones you've missed.

That's the thing. I'll tell you the POS of the ones we found.

Found two at J12 near each other on opposite sides of the wall they're in front of. That's on SE tower first floor

L8 west tower first floor. F12 SW tower, first floor. One at H7 as well on first floor.

Bottom floor we found two. G9 which is way off path from the mission, not in one of the towers, and the other at H5 north tower. That's 7 total. We scoured the whole place up and down. I believe we talked to the one who mentions Feiyin, Romaeve, and Pso Xja, and one who blabs off some numbers

If there's any you can think I missed and where they might be after looking at a map, please inform me. Thanks for the reply.

Suiram, how many NPC are there total? 9 (The 7 that Otarius found and the 2 he might have missed?)

It's not like the 20 in Al'Taieu, right?

Ten. Their dialog (be warned of spoilers):

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

1. Warning. Chamber of Eventide accessed by unauthorized personnel, 4789209-980 increments previous.
2. Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi and Garden of Ru'Hmet portals under celestial defense mechanism control. Access restricted to security personnel.
3. Employ matter transfer devices within each tower to descend to lower levels.
4. Due to authority figure absence, support personnel remain active in Al'Taieu city sector.
5. Anti-intruder personnel deactivated. Request immediate response.
6. Celestial defense mechanism deactivated in city sector. Royal family directive required to deactivate Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi and Garden of Ru'Hmet defenses.
7. Fei'Yin, Ro'Maeve, and Pso'Xja destroyed during spatial transfer of Al'Taieu. Heavy casualties recorded among Kuluu personnel.
8. Crystal power supply to palace restricted to minimum level. Matter transfer devices and towers operational.
9. Possible rupture in Chamber of Eventide. Access to research facilities prohibited.
10. Utilizing the crystal's versatile energy, the towers were reconfigured into weapons in the battle with the wyrms.

Like Al'Taieu, talk to any of them after you've talked to *all* of them (most convenient is to talk to whichever one you find last, twice), and you'll get a different line of dialog which results in you getting the map.

There are also ten in Ru'Hmet, for the Ru'Hmet map. They're easier to describe the locations though: three on the main floor (easily soloable with sacrificial-if-aggro level 1 job, subbing RNG for Wide Scan; one of those three is even in the no-enemies entry foyer), one on the third floor of each of the five racial towers, and two on the second floor of the big central tower (one near the elevator, one near the place to get Brand of Dawn). Their dialog (more spoilers):

1. The Zilart followed the voice to the top of the Garden of Ru'Hmet. The Brand of Dawn and Brand of Twilight are required for access.
2. The Kuluu boy returned with many companions of malignant races. Why did he not bring his friend, the Zilartian prince?
3. Once, many voices could be heard while standing here. Now it seems that everyone is sleeping.
4. This material is detritus that accompanied the spatial transference. It interferes with our patrol routes.
5. This is the Garden of Ru'Hmet. A matter transfer device in the center of the palace connects the upper and lower levels.
6. After the spatial transference, the Dawn Maiden and the Kuluu boy sealed the audience chamber. It has not been opened since.
7. The crest of the royal family represents the five senses and the higher awareness that governs those senses.
8. The maelstrom you see above the palace is a remnant of the spatial transference.
9. A philosopher once reasoned that the energy of the crystal could be divided into five properties. These towers made that division possible.
10. The energy of each tower is unique. Before the battle with the wyrms, these towers were sacred places that glowed with the light of healing.

When you enter The Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi, you are on the "upper" floor. The elevators takes you down the the "lower" floor.

The NPC's are listed by the first word they say. See above post by Vilurum.

1. Warning - ~J12 - upper floor - SE tower - need to get to NPC from lower floor
2. Grand Palace - ~J12 - upper floor - SE tower
3. Employ - ~L7 - upper floor - NE tower
4. Due - ~H11 - lower floor
5. Anti-intruder - ~E12 - lower floor - SW tower
6. Celestial - ~F12 - upper floor - SW tower
7. Fei'Yin - ~G9 - lower floor - need get to NPC via upper NW tower (other paths possible?)
8. Crystal - ~H7 - upper floor
9. Possible - ~I4 - upper floor - N tower
10. Utilizing - ~H4 - lower floor - N tower

Numbers 1 and 7 are the ones that are out of the way from the mission route. Both of these you need to get to from the opposite floor. You also need to get to both of these while you have an escort "paused"
