Yeah, I've noticed the banner on the battlenet downloader for awhile now. But hey, that $40 for early access also gives you 3 new heroes and skins.
Along with a mount and some starter gold, too. All in all, it's not a bad deal for what you get when compared to the cost of the items when purchasing them separately(though I don't think you can get that version of the mount by itself).

That said, I'm not inclined to spend much RL money on in-game items. There are a small number of skins I'd be willing to buy since you can't get them with gold(Pajamathur and Murky's marine skin are two such, contingent on me playing and enjoying the characters). I only got the Founder's Pack because my roommate bought it for me. And I did get a stimpack in order to speed up passing the talent gates on new characters.

You should hit me up if you wanna game. There's an XP bonus for doing games with someone on your friend list. Poldaran-1616. After today's games, I'm upgrading my perception of my skill level from "not at all good" to "almost halfway decent" thanks to turning around a Nova ambush(I was at half HP and she got the first attack, though I was a couple levels higher) and killing both an Azmodan and Diablo that tried to attack me at a shrine. Still making silly newb mistakes here and there, though. Another good day like today and I'll be pretty close to unlocking Kerrigan's master skin.

They sell XP boosts to bypass their crappy talent system now? God I hate their monetization scheme in this game.

I think it's that they sell XP(and gold) boosts in general, but that the biggest reason for me to get one was to get past what I agree is a ****** system. Don't get me wrong, I understand why they put in talent gates. It's so people can learn the characters without getting overwhelmed by choice. But I think that once you hit a certain player level, you've developed enough competence in the game that further talent gates are unnecessary. So, at player level 10 or so, I think all talent gates should be removed for remaining characters.

On the other hand, with skins like this, I think the stimpacks are completely unnecessary. Who doesn't want Pajama Party Lost Vikings?

Thanks for the offer Poldaran, but I doubt I'll be playing this game. I have enough distractions as it is already.

Something about Jaina's stance is very off-putting.

Some interesting changes in the recent patch, at least, from what I've noticed. Many top tier talents got reworked. For instance, Kerrigan no longer gets access to two cleave abilities(at 4 and 20), but now gets a 20% auto attack bonus damage + 1s slow at 20. They've also added in the Lost Vikings. I thought Abathur was a very different character to play before. These guys are like micro-managing 3 different characters at once.

What I'm saying is that they aren't for me.

Okay, I'd only played around with the character in the Trial mode. Actually watching Lost Vikings in an actual game is nuts.

Edit: From the comments on that vid, I've learned that they make for an interesting choice to pick up the Garden Terror. Apparently only one of them becomes the terror while the other two continue to run around doing whatever.

Seriously? Blizzard is getting in on the early access scam?

Blizzard's alpha builds are more polished than most early access releases out there, but yeah, early access bullsh*t is bullsh*t.

Or what Ubisoft releases as a finished product, in many cases.

Dota has a similar character to the Lost Vikings, only he's probably a littler harder: Meepo.

I've been looking into trying to figure out what heroes remain to be added to the game, and it looks like Sylvannas is the last one that has been announced. She seems to be a Specialist, so that could be interesting.

This post was brought to you by the letter 'T' and my realization that I would love to see an Attack On Titan skin for Sonya.

According to the patch notes, Sylvannas and the new dungeon have been added, in case anyone's interested.

I was looking at the patch notes and noticed something that has me giddy. Now all Jaina needs is Presence of Mind and Pyroblast.

Today was Launch Day, complete with a new hero(Johanna the D3 Crusader). Looking forward to trying her out. Also, didn't get a chance to play to day, but my roommate tells me that the matches today have been super-nubbish. Smiley: laugh
