A Watch Dogs port how long after release isn't going to help anything. SSB is also coming to the 3DS which will hurt WiiU sales. Is their enough of a cross between DW fans and Zelda fans to make Hyrule Warriors a serious consideration? The new Zelda is probably more than a year off. So, Bayonetta 2. I just don't see the WiiU gaining any new followers and time soon. And with publishers like Ubi directly saying that they have finished games that they're sitting on until the WiiU gets a bigger install base, I don't see it getting better with what they've shown so far.

Maybe true, but it's certainly not going to hurt. And one more big name, however late, is a good thing for the Wii U. And besides, it's coming out sometime in 2014, so likely in time for the holiday season.

Doubtful. They're spacing out the releases far enough that to many people it will be worth it to buy it a second time. Especially since the Wii U version is going to be the one that gives you the classic SSB experience: You and three friends on the same screen playing your favorite characters and smashing the **** out of each other. There's going to be some of that in the 3DS version, but I still think that it's going to be the inferior version myself, if only because of the drawbacks of using a handheld over a console + TV.

Don't think of the market there as the intersection of DW fans and Zelda fans; that group's probably going to be pretty small. But most Zelda fans (a very large amount of people) are going to be at least marginally interested in this game, and it's enough of a fresh take on the series to arguably bring in fresh blood. I think this game is going to be a very, very big deal.

Raolan wrote:

Which would be a big game in its own right, but add in the fact that they're bundling Bayonetta 1 in with it, and it just got a whole lot more interesting for a lot of people. I know personally, this single game is almost enough to convince me to buy a console.

But if you're wanting up and coming games closer to the present, then they've got the following all coming out in 2014:

Quote:
  • Hyrule Warriors
  • Another Skylanders title (these print money)
  • Just Dance 2015 (Again, this series is another money printer)
  • Bayonetta 2
  • Super Smash Bros
  • Watch Dogs
  • Disney Infinity: Avengers flavor
  • Lego Batman 3
  • Costume Quest 2
  • A sh*tton of Mega Man games being rereleased
  • Devil's Third (a Wii U exclusive)

I think theyve got a good lineup, and are going to do well this Christmas.

I'm not a huge Nintendo guy but both of the new Zelda games look interesting to me. Not interesting enough to fork out for a console I wont use, but it does say something that I kinda want them.

(Time for them to go software only?) Seriously all this proprietary ******** is annoying. Exclusive releases to make me buy your hardware is not gonna fly for me at this stage in the game. Make it platform agnostic, take my money, or gtfo.

Well. Interesting sneaky news tonight. I'll let the video speak for itself. Then I will post a link after the video which was posted 2 months ago that is suddenly very very interesting.

I think the critical mass of MK8, Zelda, SSB and Bayonetta is enough for me to fork over the cash for a Wii U later this year. It's taken a hell of a long time but there's finally enough games I want to play.

A good new Metroid or F-Zero (even F-Zero HD rerelease) would make it a much easier de ision though.

A new Metroid Prime? I think I might die of happiness were that to happen.

A new F-Zero would be even better but with MK8 taking so much inspiration from F-Zero tracks and GX's relatively poor sales of around 1 million I'm fearful it won't happen.

F-zero remastered or release would be awesome. I played a demo of 8 in the store and I think the comparison is lacking. The anti gravity thing isn't enough for me to not yearn for the speed and narcissism that comes with an F-zero game. (I know the comparison wasn't only made by you though.)

I am definitely in the more metriod prime/f-zero camp though!

It's mainly the track layout that takes so, so much from F-Zero.

This one will probably be the reason why I buy a Wii U.

Then since I have a Wii U, I'll pick up the Zelda and Hyrule Warriors games, and probably Smash Bros.

For the record, I recently bought a Wii U for Mario Kart 8 and it's been worth every penny. At this point Zelda and Smash Bros are a bonus.

Also, Xenoblade.

MK8 does look pretty cool but not enough for me to buy a Wii U unless it's way more difficult to complete than Double Dash was.

When did E3 stop being primarily about gaming? I finally got around to finding out what the whole Bendis thing was about, and it's for a show for Sony TV or whatever Sony is having to compete with Netflix or whatever. Powers, his comic that has nothing to do with gaming whatsoever.

Get off my lawn, I'm tired of gaming becoming marginalized and devoured.

On the other hand, if I'm understanding the functionality of the Sony TV thing, it sounds like you can play PS4 games in other rooms using one, so that's cool.

PS Vita, and only the games that don't require the front/back touch inputs that the Vita uses.

As long as they are still advertising games they can't be moved to CES.

The $99 device lets users stream video, older PlayStation titles and games for Sony's hand-held Vita system to any TV. The "micro-console," which debuted in November in Japan as PSVita TV, also lets PlayStation 4 players send the action to a second TV.

It sounds to me like you could do the older stuff and Vita stuff without another system, but if you also have a PS4, you could still use its games in another room. It would probably tie up the system, but that would be fine if the problem is that the TV in the other room is being used for something else.

I'm reading the same as well. If only I had a TV in my bedroom... then I'd never get out of bed.

All this game play footage of Xenoblade Chronicles X made me fire up my Wii today and play Xenoblade Chronicles. The 480i graphics of the Wii are so disappointing. But hey, the game is fun. Xenoblade had a very early on "Aeris" moment that really stuck with me.

I've been watching some streamers and it looks a lot like Halo to me. So if you liked Halo, you'll like this.
