Is there a creative magic game?Follow

In all my years of game-playing and youtube-watching I can't recall seeing a game that offers a spell/magic system where you are completely creative and can be extremely unique in crafting spells/magic. Does one exist? (these can be game, mods for games, book magic systems if you really want to mention it...)

Pretty sure the earlier Elder Scrolls games let you craft spells all you want. Morrowind and Oblivion. I know Oblivion did.

The spell system in Legends of Dawn allows for crafting using a bunch of different runes for combined effects although they mainly boil down to heal/harm and increase/decrease attributes depending on whether you craft a personal buff spell, single target "missile" or a ground ward. Also, you have to be playing Legends of Dawn to use the system which isn't exactly a point in its favor.

There's a Skyrim mod that lets you design your own spells. I can't for the life of me remember what it's called though. I saw it on one of those Youtube vid series that reviews a ton of mods and I have no idea what episode it was.

Maybe the game was Magicka, a Steam game?

That sounds pretty awesome. I personally would like to see more practical implications of magic in games-- I mean to be used for purposes other than combat.
