That's exactly why I take issue with this Ancient. I don't care if other players use autoclickers but if an Ancient is rather worthless to me if I don't use autoclicker then the design is not that good.

I'm still early game I guess. I go to level 200 and then ascend. It would be more efficient if I'd end my runs around 160-170 but at 200 I get some guaranteed Hero Souls and I'm content with my progress. Plus I try to not spend too much time on it.

The nice thing is that the game allows you options on playstyle. Syl/Lib are worthless to auto-clicker players, and provide huge boosts to idle players. On the flip side, auto-clicking is capped at 40 clicks/sec. So if you could boost your idle Ancients above the amount those clicks would give you, then idling beats auto-clickers.

So you can either get the two idle ancients, or the three active ancients (Bhaal, Fragsworth, and now Juggernaut). No need to get both sets. The amounts end up being fairly close - auto-clicking was actually falling behind, hence why Juggernaut was added. People are still debating if it is too powerful or too weak. I'm on the "seems powerful" side for now, but I haven't tried an idle build yet so it may just be what idle players were used to previously.

Edit: That said, I understand your feelings. I hated posts from people who used the 250 clicks/sec autoclickers in Cookie Clicker, because it felt like cheating. I was a "vanilla only" guy in that game. One of the main reasons I think Clicker Heroes is better is because auto-clickers are not overpowered - just a different way to play.

I only gave up and used Cookie Cheat because I wanted to be done with that game once and for all.

0.15b Patch Notes

- Juggernaut now affects Click Damage in addition to DPS.

They really want us to use him. But I will stay strong.

So I've turned my browser off for the weekend so I'm not tempted to ascend. I'm gonna let it run for four days, and hopefully come back and be able to beat level 160.

Maybe I won't quit after 160 after all. Smiley: bah

Ok, so, with Juggernaut I left the game on overnight and managed to hit 1250 (from 1200) this morning. Pretty awesome. Then I refreshed the browser to get the new update...

My highest level is now 1510 Smiley: laugh

Yeah, with this change I think it's fair to say Juggernaut is overpowered with an auto-clicker. As much as I enjoy the change, it's more than a little ridiculous.

In other news, I've regilded (almost) all my heroes into Masked Samurai. Some 20 or so are in Frostleaf, as eventually I'll need to regild them all again to that one. Might as well get a head start?

A suggestion I saw on the Clicker Heroes subreddit was to implement another Ancient that essentially functions like an autoclicker. It would do away with the "is it cheating or not" issue of an external autoclicker.

They also should bring maybe one or two new Ancients that support idle play. I'm not doing that but I feel it would add to the game if both options were not too far away in terms of efficancy.

The next patch brings at least two new heroes who will be tailored specifically for endgame.

Got to 164, ascended with 15 more souls. Trying for 165 tonight! Smiley: nod

What do you mean by "re-gild" your heroes? How do I change them?

When you scroll down completely in your heroes tab there's a button named 'Gilded'. Click on it and you get a popup where you see all you heroes (except Cid, because she cannot be gilded) and you see which ones are gilded and how often. When you now press Control and click on one that is gilded you redistribute one of its gilds to another hero. Which one gets it is random though. That means it takes some tries before you land all of them on your chosen target. And each try costs Hero Souls.

My highest level now is 305 and I will wait for a while longer before I regild. Where your gilds lie only gets really important in the endgame, when you can level up your heroes to herolevel 4100 before you ascend. At least that's what I read.

Edit: I'm not sure I worded all of this well. Smiley: oyvey

- Fixed primal boss randomness from repeating after several ascensions.
- Fixed each ascension from giving an additional hero soul.
- New achievements.
- Spooky stuff!

"Spooky stuff" means a couple of the heroes have Halloweenish costumes, and randomly pumpkins and candy will appear on the screen. Clicking candy makes gold drop (I read that it's 10x the amount a normal monster on your highest floor would drop, not sure if that's true), and clicking the pumpkin will activate a random skill without triggering its cooldown.

Pumpkin takes a few clicks to activate. Not sure if it's worth it for me, since I do a mixture of idle dps with maxed cd reduction... pretty important to stick to my cycle to maximize dps.

Anyone still playing this? I'm at 7k+ Hero Souls now invested in Ancients and can go up to level ~350 relatively fast. Next I want to boost Morgulis maybe a thousand levels before I work on the next Ancient (have 10) and some more gilds (have 35, albeit many of them on really bad heroes).

I was, up until a few days ago. I finally beat level 2000... like, three days after the 2200-2600 achievements came out. Just didn't seem worth grinding up those ones yet. So now I'm waiting for the next big patch, when some new late-game heroes are going to be introduced.

I have a pretty high amount of Hero Souls... 3.75 million invested in ancients, and several tends of thousands on hand. I played actively for a while but now I have all the ancients (well, except a few worthless ones) so I mostly just idle to level 1500-1600, then reset for 60-70k souls. Takes an hour or two.

Yea I am, but slow going... just run it at night mostly when I'm at home. About to hit 350 for the first time ever.

The next update might take awhile still:

Quote:
We're working hard on the update for the heroes. It's one of the more complicated balancing updates so far as it has huge impacts on mid-game and late game, so we have to do a lot of research and testing.

It's impossible to give an estimate since there's really no way of knowing when it'll be done, we just hope that we're going as fast as we can!

In addition, we're also working on the mobile version, as it comes with a lot of mobile optimizations. We want to make sure it's great and fitting for play on a mobile device since it's a bit different than playing on PC.

It's still just the two of us please be patient and look forward to it! In the mean time, enjoy the Halloween decorations for a bit longer. Thanks for the continued support!

Not much info but this shorter answer to another question in the same thread was interesting:

Quote:
More souls (and ancients, and levels in ancients) will absolutely have an effect on the super-ascensions.

Seems like with 0.17 (or whatever it will be named) there will come a new way to reset the game with new benefits.

Just got all my 45 Gilds on Samurai. Ugh! The first time I considered a script since I started playing this game. But I stayed strong.

Can't wait to relocate every Gild on Frostleaf/the new endgame hero when I reach that point. Smiley: frown

I guess I finally entered the midgame.

Used one of my free respecs (have another one left) to get rid of any 'active' Ancient and went completely idle.

Argaiv, Libertas, Mammon, Mimzee and Siyalatas all @ level 110
Solomon @ level 300
Morgulis @ level 8100
Atman, Dogcog, Dora, Fortuna, Khrysos and Kumawakamaru @ maxlevel

88635 HS in Ancients + 78 in the bank. My OCD won't allow me to put them into Morgulis since I only level her up in steps of 100.

All 62 Gilds are on Samurai.

I did not use any calculator for my Hero Soul allocation but I think this will do.

0.17 Patch Notes

- A bunch of new heroes.
- Gilded Heroes are only awarded to heroes you have seen at least once.
- You can now press Shift+Click to gild a specific hero, by taking a gild away from a random other hero. Costs 80 hero souls.
- DPS bonus from achievements is now displayed in the stats panel.
- Your total number of dark rituals is now displayed in the stats panel.
- Heroes now show their percentage of your total DPS in their tooltips.
- Holiday food!

Maybe the new patch will spark some interest again so I don't feel so lonely in here anymore? Smiley: frown

I read on the Subreddit as soon as you can easily get the Masked Samurai to level 3000 you should regild to the Blue Ranger (Atlas) and skip the Black one and Frostleaf (if you aren't on FL already). After that you always switch to the next Ranger as soon as you get your current one to level 1600ish. Because that's the point you can level the next one to level 1000 after which he becomes more effective.

While I get the Samurai above level 3000 each run I haven't made the switch myself yet.

Edit: despite proofreading 2 times still found a typo after posting '-.-
