Directions to face for crafting.Follow

I heard the direction you face for crafting can effect your craft results or leveling results. Is it true? And if it is which way should I face for wood working? Or is it crystal specific?

take a look at the direction facing map thing in the stick thread. Many people feel is works. I use it also. It is crystals based... look up there in the sticky though... it's pretty self explanitory.

I have one question i have always doubted which way to face . Do you face NW for fire crystals? Or face to where it is weak to (west)????

Well first off, the direction is based off which crystal you will be using. I believe for Woodworking you are mainly working with Wind Crystals, so I believe you face Southwest, South, or Southeast. I'm sorry, been a while since I have crafted. There are many inks you can find on this subject though, so it shouldn't be to hard to figure things out.

Ok maybe i didnt make myself clear. For wind (example) i always have faced Southeast, however i see people when they craft and some face EAST(to where wind is weak too i.e facing where Ice is)So which is the correct direction (im pretty sure its SE just making sure)?????

The following's based purely off my own empirical data.

For any given synth, you have the option of facing 2-5 directions, and crafting on as many days, to noticably affect the results.

Facing THE CRYSTAL'S DIRECTION/on THE CRYSTAL'S DAY: Fail rate may decrease slightly. Fewer critical (lose all ingredients) fails.

Facing WEAKER CRYSTAL'S DIRECTION/on WEAKER CRYSTAL'S DAY: Seems to ct as "virtual skill +1, +2 for both"; the closer you get the gap to -4, the better skillups you get, however, if you close the gap further with this method skillups will become less common.

Facing STRONGER CRYSTAL'S DIRECTION/on STRONGER CRYSTAL'S DAY: The opposite of the previous. Worth facing this direction if you're close to the cap of an item and skillups have slowed down.

Facing LIGHT/on LIGHTSDAY: Acts as weaker to all but light and dark, but with less effect. Acts as stronger to dark, with full effect. Acts as same to light.

Facing DARK/on DARKSDAY: Acts as stronger to all but light and dark, but with less effect. Acts as stronger to light, with full effect. Acts as same to dark.

For HQs: This appears to be a seperate roll, with all day/facing modifiers reversed---those that reduce your skill increase HQ odds, and vice-versa.
