Hey, so to answer this quickly, you can make profit with any craft there is, some are harder or take longer or even need more up front capital for it but it's possible to make a good profit with every single craft in the game.

Now to go into a bit more depth for you, we can break the crafts down into three basic subjets, Big Items, NPC'able and Consumables. Big items would be things like Armor, Weapons, Items that a player can buy that have a good use. Comsumables would be things like Ammo, Food, items that get used up that you need to buy over and over. NPC'able are items that you can craft then sell to an NPC and make a profit.

Big Item crafts would include, Smithing, Goldsmithing, Woodworking, Clothcraft, Leathercraft, Bonecraft and to a lesser extent Alchmey it has a few weapons and things.

Consumable crafts would include, Cooking, Alchmey and Woodworking(Ammo)

NPC'able would include every craft, as I've leveled crafts up I've always found at least 1 craft I can sell to an NPC for a profit even if it's been 1 gil.

Now I'm not going to tell you which craft to level up, each has it's pro's and con's and each will take differnt ammounts of starting gil to get going. What I am going to do is provide you 3 links.

You can use these links to do your research into what craft is for you.

I hope this helps.

The Qufim Fisher - Dissolving some myths, No I do not have 999billion gil on 16 mules, I do not have any job at 75 or higher, Yes I've been playing since before Lakshmi was opened, No I do not have 12 arms and 6 heads contorling 18 chars at once, I level all my jobs through solo work. No I'm not RMT and No I won't fish for you for free. When I'm fishing I rarely speak unless I know you.

These are just a few that I've been told in the past few weeks, please stop spreading them.

Also, consider the possibility that the greatest profit is to level your crafts "horizontally" rather than "vertically" - in other words, level all your crafts in tandem. You'll be able to craft all the component parts of your synth.

For example, if you level only bonecrafting, then you'll be buying the leathers you'll need, the lumber for arrows, the ingots and metal sheets, etc. - and be eating the profit that sellers have worked into the price of those component parts. If you craft everything yourself, then you have a competitive advantage over the other crafters.

Since we have such a mature game, and so many people have high level crafts - the profit is spread pretty evenly throughout the crafting market. Racing to 100 + 6 in any one craft is no guarantee of uber profits. I have no craft higher than 69, but all my crafts are over 50. I can make a huge variety of products - and so I don't make what the AH already has in stock. I make what will sell (and I've become very rich solely based on my crafting activity). Don't believe those who say that crafting is expensive. It all depends on how you do it.
