Hello, I am a returning player. In the past most my main income was fishing. I am starting a new character and wondering if Fishing is till worth the effort leveling from scratch with all the anti-RMT nerfs it got sense I was gone.

Also I am wondering if Chocobo Digging got any changes. I always was interested in it but I always heard it take over half a year of digging every day to get skill level high enough to be profitable.

Fishing still offers a nice steady income.

I've recently returned to the game my self, and if anything prices seem to have gone up on a lot of fish in my absence (I havent seen a single rmt fishbot since I returned, so I'm guessing its because there is less flooding of the AH and less undercutting going on).

Obviously not all fish have risen in price, it varies from fish to fish. For example when questing my Lu I used to buy 3k/stack moats from the AH, nowadays they are selling very fast at 8k/stack on my server. Whilst Nebs are down to 10k whereas iirc they were selling at around 15k when I quit.

The good thing with fishing is its always in demand by Alchemists and Cooks, two tradeskills that mainly deal in consumable items that are always in high demand, wheras other tradeskills have gone stale these past few years.

Supposedly it can pull in up to nearly 2.5mil a day now purely from npcfood (by fishing Hakuryus in Beaucedine) with enough patience, if you have either an Ebisu or a Lu + the ability to fix it.

The only reason why I haven't bothered trying is because I make more than enough gil from Abyssea nowadays and I have less of a need for gil anyway.
