I'm off work at the moment through illness and find myself with a lot of spare time on my hands so I decided I wanted to level a craft that was nice and relaxing so I settled on fishing, ultimately I'd like to get it to 100.
But here's the problem I'm having. Between the annoying fishing fatigue limit and an unbelievably low rate on skill-ups so far (I'm pretty sure SE cursed my fishing skill-ups) I find I've only managed to raise my fishing skill level from 14 to 17 after a week. I haven't managed to make a full skill level on any given day. It's always been 0.something total.
I've read a lot of guides and have been following them as much as possible. I've been fishing Quus in Port Windurst all day todaytrying to get from 17 to 19. I always use the 4 armour pieces to get the extra +4 fishing skill. After a few minutes I'd sussed which bites were Quus so have been fishing them exclusively using a Halcyon Rod and Sibiki Rig bait as per the guide I'm currently using. Yet after hitting the fatigue limit I still only have a combined total skillup of 0.3 points today. That seems obscenely low to me?
Is fishing really this difficult and long-winded to skill-up? I'm at the point now where I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong...I have friends that tell me they managed to make 100 fishing a lot quicker than I'm doing it so it's making me wonder if I'm missing something?
