I particularly liked how everyone just forgets about Leah. I mean, there are some token "could we save her/I'm sorry for her" optional conversations with NPCs before the fight, and then literally no mention of her, at all, afterwards.

Yet there are THREE different "Yay we won" conversation options for each of your followers, and not one of them has any bit of substance in the first place.

Just weird.

[EDIT]

It REALLY doesn't help that there's no epilogue thing for the class you played. I get that there's the expac coming, but there isn't even a token "next step" part, like Demon Hunter went off chasing other demons or something. ANYTHING that they could have easily just led you back into Act V with.

Your story just ends. It's weird.

And with so many untied ends, plus the really abrupt ending to Diablo in the first place, it really WAS an anticlimactic ending.

As far as I can remember, Diablo 2 had a similar non story and I couldn't tell you any details of Torchlight 2's story despite completing it a bunch of times now.

D3 makes the mistake of pretending it has a story worth telling.

I generally barely notice it, now that all my clocks auto update. Because I forget about it though, I'm always confused as to why it's slightly harder to get up in the morning for a couple days.

Slightly? I feel like death.

I mean, to be fair, I've been running on little sleep for like 5-6 days now. But losing that hour hit me hard. I was actually fighting my eyelids on my commute in.

I notice it for a day or so, not much more. As with Xsarus every clock I have updates automagically so I don't have to think about it at all.

See, my routine is so tight now that the change is REALLY throwing me off, because my body is very heavily aware that I'm an hour off.

The worst part is that it was pitch black again when I left for work, when we had finally hit the point where I was commuting in the light. Smiley: frown

We had one growing up, it was something my dad was into. He ended up selling it at some point only to stumble back across it years later. My brother has it in the garage now IIRC.

They did a good job of making the story just in-depth and interesting enough to for you to realize there's about a billion plot holes, and it's put together poorly. They would have been better off either taking the time to do it properly, or just doing the bare minimum needed to justify the demon slaughtering (as if you really needed a reason).

How does one hour of sleep affect you that much? It's not daylight savings thats causing you to be a zombie...

When I lose an hour of sleep, I'll feel worse when I wake up, and feel more tired around 7 pm. I guess if you're not getting enough sleep anyway, taking away an hour is a bigger deal.

Bingo.

Well in my case at least. The cumulative sleep deprivation for years of parenting tends to amplify little things like this. Usually if I don't get enough sleep I'm fine in the morning, and don't get tried until later in the afternoon, when I hit a wall. However I spaced on taking the meds this morning, so the lack of the extra pep from the pill is double whammy.

Darn my luck. Smiley: lol

Yeah, pretty much.

I mean, on a normal week I'm usually riding the line between zombie and functioning.

I'm a really poor sleeper, so getting a good night's sleep is rare. And my weekends are generally defined by little sleep, because I can't go back to sleep once I wake up (and my body clock has me up between 5 and 6, even on weekends). Not the best.

But I was sleeping particularly badly the past few days before the weekend, then a relatively sleepless Friday/Saturday night.

The worst part was having to get ready and drive in the dark, though. Once my brain was used to doing it in the light, that was just cruel...

I'm like 85% sure that my sleep issues are stress related. I was never a good sleeper, but I've been much worse lately. I can get 8 hours and wake up not feeling refreshed at all. I mean, going back to bed was always hard, once my brain had turned on. But I was always fine as long as I could get 6-8 hours and actually wake up at an acceptable hour.

Now, I get 8 and wake up at 5 and feel like I got 3... and am waking up at 5.

I was going to suggest exercising regularly but you don't seem to have trouble falling asleep, just waking up too early/not refreshed. Might be worth making an appointment with a psychologist if your heath insurance covers it though.

Haha, it's fine.

I usually deal with zombie mode by having a really tight routine. Up, shower, vitamins + quick breakfast (yogurt, usually), car -> work, etc. Zombie mode probably isn't the best for commuting, but I'm still alive, and haven't caused any accidents, so there's that.

I don't expect the job stress to disappear anytime soon, just get worse, so that's really all I can do. Until I find a new job at least. Smiley: lol

There's outlets to reduce your stress or ways to reduce work related stress if you learn how to deal with whatever causes the stress, which is what psychologists are for. Especially nowadays since a huge number of young professionals are overworked/stressed out or otherwise close to a burnout.

How do you people squeeze in time for breakfast, showers and all that **** in the morning? Showering alone would add another 30 minutes to my morning routine. 30 minutes that could be spent sleeping. My breakfast usually consists of a smoke while walking to the bus stop and then a cup of coffee when I arrive at work.

I'll die young, but at least I'll die well-rested.

I've learned some things that work for me. For the most part, part of the problem is that I spend all my time in my head, which leads to chronic over-thinking. When you're already dealing with a stressful situation, that's not the best.

Book shops, for instance, are a great destressing atmosphere for me. Whenever I feel close to a panic attack, or just really bad anxiety, I try to escape to one. Which is partly why I've spent a **** ton of money on books in the past year, but meh. It's better than a mental breakdown. Smiley: lol

Breakfast is eaten at work as I tend to have small bits of downtime while I'm waiting for incubation, or for files to zip or transfer or whatever. 5 minutes isn't enough time to really start anything new and useful that's work-related, but it's plenty of time to eat a doughnut, or post a little here, or whatever.

Showers are done in the evening.

Also, diglett. I'll second Aethien's advice. A couple of sessions with a counselor and a pill or two are probably cheaper than all the book binges and crappy video games, and better for you to boot. Smiley: wink

1) The shower is warm and the world is cold.

2) You have to shave.

3) You can't hear the children scream.
