Since there is also Holy Water when curing this is difficult, we’d like to monitor the current rate. Though it depends on luck and repeated attempts, but the recovery rate was set rather high so it can be cured before the countdown timer reaches zero.

I think that means that Healing Magic Skill for Cursna is out. MAcc too, probably. So what do you guys go with, max recast reduction and an Apollo's staff in case the light affinity helps?

Since Apollo's Staff is pretty much glued to my back in my current lack of a Surya's (still need a ton of light element beast kills), it's a given that I'll be using it while casting Cursna. Truth be told though, I usually just spam the spell and hope it's enough to cure it quickly.

With the traits we get to lower Cursna's casting time and recast it's pretty much already as fast as it can be, the only thing that gets in the way is the casting animation. If anyone knows any non-Windower methods for circumventing that issue, post it here :D

I used to swap in a bunch of healing skill and Apollo's Staff, and felt like it probably helped, but it got too annoying having two Cursna macros (one with Yagrush, one with Apollo's) so I eventually just went back to the one all-purpose Cursna macro that uses Yagrush and a bunch of haste gear. Haven't noticed a decrease in the ability to remove doom. In fact if there are multiple people doomed, it's not uncommon to successfully remove multiple in one cast. So the removal rate is pretty high even in my Yagrush+Haste build.

I must have bad luck especially on these new vwnms with AoE Doom 10tic / 5tic timer. I'll be lucky to remove one person's doom and someone will always die. I have max fc and -50% recast (is the new recast cap is 80% now). I wish cursna was just 100% removal and not so luck based.

It is rather difficult to remove a single 10-tic doom with one person's Cursna alone. Unluckiness is the standard, really. If it's 5-tic, well, that's even worse.

Holy waters can be spammed significantly faster and even then it's not always a given that they'll work.

I've seen no noticeable difference with the NQ cursna ring.

I've been using the NQ ring and several times it has made me wonder if it actually debuffs Cursna......only like 50k on the AH so was worth the try. Maybe the HQ ring is better but haven't seen any difference thus far. Will try it in combination with the tank wearing the Cursna effect ring also soon....but have not been impressed thus far.

A friend of mine (Aedrin, formally known as Kellar of Midgard. He was once one of the leads of Valor/Virtus, which back in the day was a pretty famous hnm shell) had a very interesting theory on cursna I'd like to put forward. Mind, I haven't had a chance to test this yet; Need someone to be the "idiot" to get cursed, and haven't had a chance to find a friend to play the "idiot" yet. (Sorry, my feelings on someone getting cursed are colored from people getting cursed from taurs while I was doing CoP missions(they were still capped back then); Baka baka if you didn't turn in time then or backtank, tho I know now a days some can't turn in time. Still the "you stupid idiot" feeling remains, tho I do try to get it off.)

He said that one of the top whms of Valor thought it was due to mind. Due to that and what we know, I think the formula is actually:

mnd + healing magic skill + gear + dumb luck = getting curse off.

So I think a good cursna set would combine the first two (three if that cursna enhance ring helps at all) and some fast cast besides because of the "dumb luck" factor. I mean, if it's dumb luck you kinda have to have the fast cast gear. ^^ He does have a lot of mnd gear in his cursna set, and he manages to get it off more often than a whm who doesn't.

I feel like I've noticed a slight increase with the HQ ring. Done a handful of Kalasutraxes since getting it and even with the 5-count doom, I can usually remove it from all party members with no deaths. I'd say overall success rate is now around 30% whereas naked success rate would be closer to 20%.
