I realize this isn't very practical advice, but offhanding a Kraken is still the best way to go even in modern content. My WHM/DNC continues to impress pretty much everyone who sees it in terms of damage.

Gendewitha Bliaut: PDT -4, Cure Cast -4
Gendewitha Spats: PDT -4, Cure Cast -5
Gendewitha Galoshes: PDT -3, Cure Cast -4
Resilient Mantle: STR +1, Acc +2, Attack +15
With this build, I can tank several mobs at once in Marjami reives, popping Realmrazers for an average of about 3k damage each. KC accuracy isn't great, I'd say maybe 60% with Ionis and no food, but I still TP faster than most proper melees and even out-damage quite a few.
I can also solo a lot of older content thanks to the Gendewitha making me not so squishy, and Realm often does 4-5k damage or more in older areas. For example, I can solo AR2 Salvage, including all NMs and both bosses. (Although there isn't time for alexandrite farming on the gear floor. If I want to do that, I have to skip a few NMs on the earlier floors.)
