Grats on the drop. Quick question though: I'm looking to start trioing this NM myself but from your experience do you think it would be better to have 2 THFs tanking or 1 THF and 1 DNC? Both of my jobs have pretty much the same eva gear, but was wondering if the extra evasion of THF would outweigh the security of DNC (cures, erase, etc).

Megantereon is an ideal thief tank mob. Last night I killed him with a group of 6 but he can be done with less. Setup was bard, red mage, monk/thf, puppetmaster, blue mage, and myself. The puppetmaster was using the mage frame and the nukes were kicking Megantereon's ass, but aside from that normal melee is almost impossible. The monk was /thf but Megantereon spams amnesia and he's programmed to do it three times in a row. He also has a potent paralysis aura. We had the red mage on enfeebles and buff mode (paralyzing and slowing Megantereon is a HUGE deal because he triple attacks and swings fast) and the bard elegied him. Furthermore I was given barparalyze and barblizzard along with haste and double Mambo. The blue mage was also giving me feather barrier for even more insane evasion. These were my tanking buffs and I was often able to go ichi --> ichi --> ichi without needing NI like this. Once I got hate established the monk went in and began pummeling Megantereon and since we were amnesia'd most of the time his DoT did pretty well. I paid close attention to the chat log and the instant amnesia wore I'd fire off evisceration and since I usually had 200 tp (or more) by this time they were averaging 650-900 damage each. As soon as my evisceration was out I immediately collaboratered the monk and swapped to evasion gear. I still got blocked by amnesia after evisceration and before collaberator twice, but it was a good routine. That was the time I was most likely to NEED NI for tanking because when I swapped to my evisc set I lost shadows easier. Gargantuan Black Tiger fangs drop like candy, and we got tumblers trunks a good 75-80% of the time (the drop rate on these is INSANELY high). I only sapped to TK/aa at the final 5-10% hp and used my Thunder Kila/Flame Dakini for the rest of the fight.

Important notes: Megantereon has one extremely dangerous trick. His amnesia isn't a big deal but his melee strikes have about an 80% chance of procing EN-DOOM. If you get hit by him even once you're probably gonna be doomed, and curing it can take a good 5-6 holy waters or cursena's if they even work at all. The doom CAN be removed but it's extremely powerful and hard to do. I got unlucky once where he landed 4 connecting strikes in a row and endoom killed me (random number generator is random with 80% evasion cap and etc etc). With me down the others crumpled in seconds. You do NOT want to get hit under any circumstances. THAT'S his greatest threat. Oh yeah, the bard and red mage were both /whm and spammed paralyna on me as needed for my shadow recasting for this reason. It helps!!

My evasion tanking set is pretty standard, but it was effective.

Thunder Kila, Flame Dakini, Ziska's and bolts (acid and blind are nice if they land.)
Optical hat, Ritter Gorget, Elusive Earring, Elusive Earring
Aurora Doublet, War Gloves +1, Jelly Ring, rajas Ring
Boxer's Mantle, Scouter's Rope, Homam Cosciales, Aurore Gaiters

I ate Marinara Pizza +1 because his evasion and defense are both pretty high. Heck, even the normal tigers that checked IT were giving me a normal defense check when I was using curry and didn't check low defense until I procced an acid bolt (proc rate is about 40-45% because they're so high level). I added the aurore doublet into my eva set in place of scorpion harness +1 (obvious upgrade) and I'd much rather aurore gaiters over dance shoes +1 for the haste. I prefer Homam Cosciales because fast cast + haste >>> evasion pants if I'm tanking for a group. It was a fun battle and I got to be the star of the show. I enjoyed the tigers and we got a good 10 or so tumblers trunks in two nights. Good stuff.

After getting my armlets yesterday, I took the opportunity to cap 80 THF.

Yeah, he is definately a fight where you can perform perfectly the entire fight and then wipe at 1%. This happened to us once lol. But I rather like the fact that it seems designed for thf to tank and it is quite a significant drop.

Personally, I love taking SMNs to him. They can DD till their hearts content and their BPs do well against him.

We've also had some decent success with a BLU in place of another evasion tank. Spamming the stun rotation along with slow/elegy/paralyze was quite effective.

After years and years of hoping and praying, and 12 odins without a single drop.... HECATOMB SUBLIGAR MINE!!!!! Mwhahahaahah!!!!

Afterwards went out to help a friend farm celerity on T-IT cryptonberries and my first mandalic stab did 1389 damage with an 11 tp return (Double attack or 1 hit triple). My first SA DE tripled for 1700+ damage. I love my LS.

Fire Kila DONE! Wewt!

Might actually get pretty close to my goal. Want to finish my Fire/Thunder/Wind kilas before the next update so I can ride the waves of alliances spamming the new trials instead of plodding along as I have so far since i was late to the party on magian elemental stuff.

Fire: DONE!
Thunder: on final 250 golem trial (~200 left.....HUGE pain)
Wind: on 2nd to last 200 bst (~100 left). Then lolPuks. Should be easy peasy.
STP Fusetto: Done!
OAT Paraz.....: 2/10 verthandi eyes -_- /hate

Might be able to do wind done over laborday weekend and plug away at thunder. For now on thunder I am just hitting up the 4 golem spawns in fei yen basement (16min repop). I can get 16 per thunderday if I am on top of repops, 12-16 if im distracted and not jumping on repops. Its goin slow, but steady.

Yeah, I added a dagger to my arsenal since the first round of magian trials and with this next update I'm pretty much going to be doing nothing but trials until the update after that ; ;. And I STILL have 200 puk kills to go on my second evasion kila. Once the update hits I'll probably do parazonium first (hoping for a 2-5 or 2-8 upgrade on it) then use that in offhand while i do STR > DEX > Eva > Eva in that order...and hopefully somewhere in there I'll be able to get my armageddon done for my RNG...which doesn't include time for leveling and doing the magian armors ; ;

...hopefully I'll be able to enjoy this game again...someday XD

Agi kila and Dex kila finished Tuesday just in time for the update today. Goal was finish Fire/Wind/Thunder Kila's before the update so I can join the alliances of people in the near future spamming whatever new trials are in store for us on these elemental lines. Goal met!

Also, capped evasion on Monday FINALLY (was stuck at 300 for about 2 weeks ><)! So officially caught up on blue skill levels before the update as well. Last minute goal met!

Im ready for the update! Bring it on SE! Bring it on!

Finished my 10/10 verthandi eyes, took 6 months. The trial after involving chukwa eggs? 8 minutes. Also, AF3+1 legs, got.

After about 6 hours of total time spend doing it... AF3 +1 legs. I am still wondering if the 4* haste beats out Skadi Store TP and ACC... but the look pretty cool :)

Now to try and do some NM's for the head upgrade... because the quest for the seals is retarded... those Amoeba type mobs are insane... wonder if I could sleep/nuke them with my gimp BLM ><

Thankfully only 1 trial per weapon and weather trials are easier now....700 arcanum for parazonium wasn't too horrible

Which NMs did you kill for the raider's head seal? Which out of three was most easy? About to start my long run for AF3 head.

Yeah that's where I'm getting mine from as well. Popped it about 5 times the other night, but only dropped 3 head seals (I only won lot on 1 ; ;)

...sadly I've seen at least 4 THFs on my server with completed AF+1 heads, but at least I know that the NM drops the seals pretty easily.


Oh and I also got my NQ feet from attohwa. Was XPing off of the worms to farm the NM pop and they dropped chest with feet inside...funny thing is I had ran back to jeuno to get more stones/supplies and saw in LS chat that they dropped...warped back and barely beat everyone else that was lotting for it lol...

Finally got Homam body, making me 5/5 for the set. I was already 5/5 Nashira. I'm DONE!

All that's left for me in Limbus now is to +1 what few pieces of AF aren't in storage. huzzah!

Got Atma of Razed Ruin last weekend and got to use it for the first time last night... so sexy
4/8 for raider's bonnet now, and we have about 4 pop sets for Amhuluk, can't wait to get pants +2 :)

bad stuff:
missed one freaking Dyna Xarc after about 25 runs and hands dropped. Went to LS leader who is always RDM or MNK at events *sigh*

Did most of these fights and with 12 or less. Ironclad Pulverizer was a pain but the "kite 15 yalms away + ws as it comes by" method worked great, Earth Crusher sealed the deal.

So damn refreshing to have a little bit of that ol speed demon feel i have so heartily missed since Blau/Sirocco days. 3 Cheers for TPing in 22% haste! Ultimately with legs/head+2 24% haste AND keeping my DW body on! SWEETS! Now to do something about that 190 del magian mainhand....I have been contemplating actually tackling that bastard glavoid and doing a twashtar, but we shall see. That guy is such a pain just to pop let alone kill. We shall see.

But still, i like having options on what to wear now. With 1 Str/Dex/Agi kila+1 to choose between for main hand and default Rapidus Sax offhand, I can fill most any situation i find myself in by boosting atk/acc or eva by significant amounts and still having the beat down powa of D41/190Del main hand.

Got all my leg seals done for AF3 tonight. 2 from spider NM, and the rest from quest. Surprisingly the quest this time was very generous as it only took me about 5 stones worth of time to get them done.

On the other hand...killed Gieremund about 5 times and still hasn't dropped a single head seal...grrrr...

Got Rapidus Sax the other day and I have to say I love having the speed again. I am currently using it with Auric because I haven't finished off any of my dagger trials yet (slow going lately). Finished off 3rd quest line, and working on others. and I just missed LS doing eve and getting VV atma... apparently we are doing it again soon for a couple others, but makes me mad that they did it on an off day just because people were on and bored ><

Hoping to get head seals done soon... I've done Pallid a good 8 times and Berstuk about the same and am still 4/8...
