Looking at this set I see that it has a lot of high stat boosts, but I have heard negative things about it. Is this set worth it?

if it takes you from 7hit to 6hit with a piece or two, sure.. if I recall, you wouldnt need all 5 pieces for that effect, usually just hands/feet helped enough..

I might have to pick up the hands again short-term to keep my 5-hit on masamune (just got the lvl 80 one, went from 20tp/hit to 17-18) until i get 4-5 other pieces that will keep it.

Hachiman pieces can be OK placeholders until you get better gear, but every piece of it is outclassed by something else. It is generally only used if you need Store TP to lower you hit build, but the body can be an OK YGK piece if you can't get Osode/Twilight/Nocturnus yet.

I am level 70 Sam and I use the Hands, Feet, and Legs and body is Hauby.
