Outside of eq my keyboard works fine. But inside the game it goes random responses after 3 minutes or so.
I have used two different keyboards, same response.
Example Press M, get map, press again get my track window, press again get my inventory.
Press z get a spell cast, press again start sneaking.
I have deleted my keyboard file and options from the eq folder. Re patched,same problem.

Hmm, thats a different one. I've seen issues before with USB devices causing intermittant keyboard issues, but if thats the case, you would be seeing that everywhere, even as you were typeing that post. I'd suspect a macro or something broke in a recent patch and is misfireing, or possibly a cirrupted game installation. Maybe try a full file scan from the patcher?
Is there any chance something is hitting one of the function keys or something towards the edge of the keyboard that would be hitting with both keyboards you tried, but wasn't there before?
To verify it isn't the actual hardware of your machine, open somethign like notpad or word, and leave the keyboard curser in it for a few hours overnight and see if any random letters show up. If not, then its almost certanly your everquest installation.

I will try that, but I went and got a 3rd keyboard from the thrift store, and the problem persists.

Downloaded game from internet, just in case mine was corrupted. No change in keyboard. Elne's comp with the same keyboard is not a problem with game. She has windows 7 I am xp.

Something is definitly amis. Was it tyoing random characters outside the game at all?

There is a keyboard control module tied to Bios on most motherboards, but if that were going bad, you would probably be seeing wierd keystrokes all the time. I'm still going with software for now, maybe the operating system load if it isn't EQ itself.
There also is a type of device that thinkgeek sells that is capable of typeing random or non ransdom keystrokes at intervals. They sell it as a gag gift. Perhaps check your computer for any odd USB attachment perephrials if you know anyone prank minded? Thats a long shot though at best.
