I am sure we've talked about it, but why is there no damage info on wiki? It can't be that hard to check on some low level mob, right?

I'd do it myself now if salvage wasn't starting.

So I thought I'd check during salvage if anyone else have checked or remember the damage. I guess it is either 1 HP per tick, or some kind of bio-equivalent.

I remember when I got Diabolos. The very first thing I did was run out to East Sarutabaruta, summon Diabolos, and use Nightmare on a Tiny Mandragora.

It missed.

I practically ate my controller.

Oh yeah, you see what the Prime does with it and you're all excited when you can use it....and it sucks.... Only think more useless is his astral flow...

Ruinous Omen can be very powerfull (more than a Merit lvl 5 / Predator Claw) when used on a high hp mob. It works very well at ZNM, Sea, Limbus events and many BCNMs. It's not as random as people may think.

About Nightmare ... His only usefulness is his capacity to be able to sleep a target already DoT. There is no Bio but only a sleep icone with a DoT of 1~3 dmg / tick.

I found nightmare to be more reliable than shiva's sleepga.

I've found the opposite, though I do not use them much at all. So my test amount is very slim.

I found this as well. I find nightmare to be able to sleep things that ES-Sleep as well as Repose cannot. Absolutely love this pact and use it quite often when in a bind.

I honestly don't believe Our version of nightmare does Any DoT at all. While i can't say I've tried this on any really low level mobs to prove it, I know that it doesn't do any noticeable damage to EP or higher (checked to a 75). I'll try to verify this for sure on a bunny next time i'm on.

Also to answer the question about mobs regening while slept with nightmare I can say YES they will certainly regen. This was verified on Kinepikwa (Taster's Cape NM). He casts poison on himself to gain a VERY high regen, fairly certain that its probably the highest form of regen in the game as it will take him from 50% to 100% health in a matter of seconds and will do so while slept. It was mostly a matter of luck that I got my nightmare in on him at all as we were battling with Aqua Fortis and Diabolos was whacking at him. Luckily i got the timing right and released so that sleep stuck.

I think it does like 1-2 hp/tick. I know for sure it does damage because a few years ago i killed ose with nothing but nightmare kiting for my assault jerkin.

i think nightmare takes a set percentage of monsters Hp over time.

as when i first tried it on a mandy in saruta after getting Diabolos as 75 summoner.

it didnt kill the mandy haha, but it did take a few HP

Percentage would make sense since it is the old demi magic avatar that usually did half or quarter damage (except on bosses of course).

I did get around to testing this again this weekend. It definitely add's a DoT to my correction. Visibly did more damage than a Dia so im guessing that its 2-3 damage per tic. Tested it on a bunny outside of Sandy. It killed the poor thing in a matter of seconds.

WHOA!

People knocking Diabolos Astral Flow!?!

I have to defend it.

I think its awesome, but situational.

Have you tried this sh*t in limbus (appollyon?) or any area with double dark weather? It PWNS. I have pics to prove it, but sadly i cant post em here on allah, there over on KI.com if you wanna dig for em :p. Does it get resisted sure, but typically i see 800-1800 dmg from it ***if used in the right area/settings***

You just cant use it on high resist rate mobs, but limbus mega bosses, and normal mobs in limbus it can do some nice numbers. I dont use it on temenos side though...the double light weather sucks.

Diabolos Prime (the higher level non CoP mission version) casts a DoT of 39 when he Nightmares. The character that was Nightmare'd also had a poison pot on him, so in total he was getting -40/tic. How come we don't get that version? ; ;

Gotta defend ruinous omen too. On high hp mobs that don't have a lot of magic resistance, this can do a lot of dmg. Used to pull 1400+ dmg on kaiser behemoth in apollyon.

Because SE hates SMN.

But really, it is a mystery why SE allows BLM to sleepga + thundaga III mobs and do not allow SMN to nightmare for damage. It isn't like we have a backup sleep if it is resisted. And it is not like any other person can hit the mob while we nightmare it.

Then again it could have been even more fun if we had 2-3 HP per tick only, but the mob was petrified for 1 minute while everyone hits it. But that would of course be as overpowered as you can get. The ability to immobilize a mob for 1 minute while dealing damage is quite insane.
