I just spent 3 hours killing jars in Lower Delkfurt and they rarely even used Mysterious Light. I was in the Room to the south on the third floor, and the one directly below it on the second. Is there an easier place to learn it, with more than just one jar per room?

I suggest going to the basement. There are 6 pots down there, 3 in 2 different rooms. Bring a frisbee to pull if the pots still aggro you because they are all really close and will magic aggro.

Anyways here is where I got my last handful of spells.

Spinal Cleave- 1/1 at that position I described earlier
Hysteric Barrage- 1/1 on Lamia COR in Caederva Mire near Arrapago Reef entrance
Tail Slap- 1/3 Random Merrow on the way back from Spinal Cleave camp.
Diamondhide 1/5 Trolls in Wajoam Woodlands near a Halvung entrance
Enervation 1/53947394737 >.>;; -same spot as Diamondhide
Warm-up- 1/7 Mammool in Wajoam Woodlands near Mamook entrance
Fire Spit- 1/3 Same spot as Warm-up
Body Slam- 1/3 Dahaks in Mount Z.
Lowing- 1/1 Buffalo in Ugly range.
Heat Breath- 1/5 Manticore in Eastern Altepa Desert
Ram Charge- 1/15 -_-; Rams in Konschtat
Disseverment- 1/2 Ul'Aerns in Sea
Saline Coat- 1/3 Ul' xzomits in sea
Temporal Shift- 1/3 Ul'hpemede in sea
Plasma Charge- 1/2 Ul'Phaubo in sea
Actinic Burst 1/8 Aw'grah in the Grand Palace
Ractor Cool- 1/15 Aw'eodzi in the Grand Palace
Sandspray- 1/5 on Quirquin in the Blue Mage room
Amplification- 1/4 at some spot in Halving (not sure of pos)
Cannonball- 1/3 at zone in Mount Z/Halvung zone that leads to Execution Chamber.
Vertical Cleave- 1/5 Aw'eovhi in the Grand Palace

Many of the sea spells I got when I was around 68 or so when my ls was farming sea pops/camping Jailer of Temperance, so I expected the low learning rate that I had for actinic burst and reactor cool.

Anyways 94/94 blue magic as of about 2 weeks ago >.>;

Yes, if you have the Delkfutt's Tower key (The one that drops from the NM at the very top), you can use that door for a MUCH easier time. Just behind that door (it's on the first floor, to your left when you enter Delkfutt's Tower), are three pots that all spawn in the first room down the stairs. They are easily soloable. After you kill those three, sneak/invis past that room, go down the hall, make a left through the next room until you reach more stairs. Then, make a right down the stairs, and there are three more pots waiting for you.

Repeating this, you should have 6 pots that you can farm on, until you learn, good luck, ^^.

You can learn from BCNMs and Besieged. I'm not worried about what SE wrote, I'm worried about what players have actually posted.

It's been posted and confirmed many months ago. That's not anything new. I even gave you exact examples. Didn't make anything up.

Before you want to keep thinking you can't learn it this way, maybe you should give it a try first.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try that on my lunch break.

Last night I got MP Drainkiss 1/4 by a TWTBW Thread Leech in Valkurm before getting Terror Touch by a Bogy 1/1. Went 1/1 on Bliztrahl also in Delkfutt's.

Re: Venom Shell

There's no need to stock up on antidotes. NPC at the dock sells them. /whm is a better (cheaper) option, but either way, there's no real need to load up on antidotes before going. Could grab a few there, or as you need (not hard to disengage while it's hiding).

{All Right!} Another Spell hunting trip gone VERY well. This hunt took place, shortly on Saturday, then for the most part of Sunday. On Saturday, I just set out to take care of a couple spells, that I didn't think would be much of a hassle at all. For these spells (all but one of them), I had people with me, but, you can solo some of these with no problem at all. Since I was told other wise, and was unsure, I didn't want to have to backtrack at all, so, I asked LS members/friends to help out.

Started on Sat.....

Lowing - These are found RIGHT down the first hill on your left hand side after zoning into Uleguerand Range. Even if you don't have a map, it's not hard to find. The Buffalos were Easy Prey to me (70Blu). I had my NPC out, as well as two others with me, thinking we were about to get into a big battle or something.......lol, NOT! Just go beat these down. You should have no problems out of these.

Heat Breath - Much like Lowing. These were Easy Prey to me as well. I fought the Manticores outside of Kuftal Tunnel zone. Just go beat these down. Should have no problems at all.

NOW FOR THE FUN PART.......SEA!!!!

I havn't been back here in SO LONG. Ever since I completed my missions and such. Since then, I've just been leveling my jobs, and enjoying my Rajas Ring. Man, the second I stepped foot in there again, I had COMPLETELY forgotten how beautiful this zone is. I was just really glad to be back there for a moment. One HUGE benefit about farming the {sea} spells, is that they are all RIGHT by each other. Please, this may help you too...http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Category:Blue_Magic. I used that to guide me through {sea} hunting. It provides you with all the spells you need, and what mobs to learn them from. The mobs in {sea} aren't all that easy to remember (name wise), so, everyone has many different nicknames for what they really are (ex. Goldfish, Shark, UFO, etc.). No more than a few seconds walk apart. These mobs generally have two levels of each, which are very didn't in terms of difficulty level (Ul' and Om'). The Om' mobs are harder than the Ul' mobs. The difference is very noticable. If you have a Smn friend helping you out, tell them to NOT WALK AROUND WITH AN AVATAR OUT. There are certain mobs, that will aggro you, but won't attack you unless you harm their HP. If an Avatar is out, they will attack the mob, as it does aggro you, just not attack. Having Soporific and Geist Wall equipped will be very useful throughout the rest of this hunt as well (Also, some Reraise items. This isn't the place you want to die, and not have a way to be raised, -_-). Mobs inside the palace don't hardly aggro. You need to be aware, of which mobs do what (Pots (zdei) aggro, and Ghrahs in bird form aggro, I know that much). Okay okay, after I had my sightseeing enjoyment again, it was back to business.....

Listed in the order I learned
Actinic Burst - (Ghrah mobs) We started on the mobs inside the palace first. I was under the impression that these were the harder ones to learn. These can change forms. They are only non-aggro when they are in the ball form. They tended to use Actinic Burst pretty often so, you shouldn't have any trouble there. These are however one of the worst mobs you need to fight. If not stunned properly, can kill you and your party. They use Ancient Magic (good job, :P), and ~ga spells. Obviously, the ~ga spells are the real threat here. I duoed them fine with a Nin, and/or with a Thf (level 75 of course). These are IT to me (70Blu)

Temporal Shift - (Hpemde mobs) Easy easy easy. I think I could've soloed these, but, since people were with me, it's questionable. These are Even Match/Tough to me (70blu). They don't do anything all that damaging. (For those who havn't been to {sea} before) These will aggro you all the time, but, won't ever attack. Lol, that's right, that's just their behavior. They will only attack if you do something to them that damages their HP. You can cast enfeebles on them and everything (even sleep), just as long as you don't dmg their HP. Anyway, this is one of the easiest spells to try to learn. Easy mobs, easy fights, plenty to pick from.

Plasma Charge - (Phuabo mobs) Lol, I love these mobs. They are found under the water. You also, can not target them either until they've already aggroed someone. These are also one of the coolest looking mobs in the game as well. These aggro you when you run over top of them (or in the proximity at least). They jump up from under the water, and then the fight begins. Plasma Charge has been used by every single one of these I've ever fought (Before Blu even came out). It's not always spammed like that, but, that's just my experience. Plasma Charge sucks though (Not the spell itself, I havn't used it, I mean, when you're going up against it). It gives them Shock Spikes so, PLEASE have some way of dispelling this. If not, you'll be looking at a VERY long fight (My Geist Wall did well, so, you should be ok, just remember to equip it). You can probably solo these once you're 75, but, I wouldn't suggest trying too much sooner than that.

Saline Coat - (Xzomit mobs) These are just like the Hpemde mobs from earlier. These don't aggro though. Difference is, these mobs need to be pulled a bit differently. They usually travel in a school of three. What you want to do is, wait until they go by, and pull the one in the back of the line. If you pull any other one, they will link. These aren't hard at all (speaking about the little ones). They use lots of moves, but, lots of them are defensive moves, or self buffs. They have some offensive moves of course, but, they tend to defend a lot (at least in my experience). Go beat these down a few times, and take home your brand new "coat" :P.

Disseverment - (Aern mobs) Okay, these pose potential to cause deaths as well. These mobs are awesome. They come in many many different styles. The weapon they draw, lets you know what job they are. You're looking to kill the ones that draw a {Dagger} out (Blm, Brd, Thf types). All the others, you can kill freely, or, you can sleep and then zone. Two zones are really close by once you enter {sea}. You can zone into the palace (depending on how far in COP missions you are), or right back to the Red Beam you just came out of. Either one is fine. Timed right, you can zone without sleeping them first. Anyway, be careful though. Disseverment has the potential to kill who ever is eating it. Also, be aware, that these mobs can have Reraise on. Yes, you read correctly, Reraise (No SE will not let you dispel it either). Of course though, the ones with daggers seemed to hardly ever have Reraise on (would be a big help if you don't learn it on that particular attempt). It was just my experience though, that's not always the case. Some will Reraise though, and be at full health, so, be ready for it.

Vertical Cleave - (Euvhi mobs) Now, back inside the palace again. These mobs are found just about everywhere that a Ghrah mob is found (either just before them, or just after them around the corner). I don't suggest soloing these at my level. These can be duoed though with a 75Nin or 75Thf. I'm sure more options are available, but, that's all I had at my disposal. They aren't very difficult to duo, although, they do have one AOE move to watch out for. However, it's nothing shadows can't handle. During these fights, make sure to watch out for the Ghrahs around you, so you don't get a link. They will use Vertical Cleave when they are in the open form (They look like Flowers).

Reactor Cool - (Zdei mobs) These mobs are basically known as pots. They act just like them, but, more advanced. These can be very dangerous. Probably the next biggest threat to the Aerns from earlier. Just be careful with these. They are also the hardest to find if you don't know your way around. I know, one can be found not too far from the entrance to the palace, but, I was lost when I found it, so, can't tell you how to get there. After wondering around for a bit, my duo partner found one deep within (we couldn't find our way out). It was behind a door. That's where we always found them each time. They will aggro you, soon as you step a few feet inside those doors. If you think you're going to die, you need to fight outside of that room. That way, you can reraise safely if needed. All I did was Stun it over and over, to increase our survivability. Most MP was trying to be saved for Magic Fruit. Beat it down, blah blah blah, you know the rest, :P.

Ram Charge - Yes, I saved this one for last, because I had assistance provided to me before I went to go hunt it. Basically, you have your choice of three places to go to, Konschat Highlands, La Theine Plateau, and Lufaise Meadows (obviously you won't be soloing Lufaise Meadows Rams, :P). So, I head out to Konschat Highlands. As soon as I get there, Rampaging Ram is just sitting there, woot! Of course I take it to him, and complete my Purple Belt quest.....FINALLY, -_-. I ended up going 0/1 on Ram Charge that time. Later on, I returned after my Dynamis run. Didn't see any Rams at the moment, but, while running around, I saw two low levels fighting a Quadav. So, I assumed, maybe it was a Blu trying to learn Head-**** or something. I did a /sea blu search. I was wrong about the low levels, but, I did notice there was another blu in the zone. Ironically, level 70 as well. So, of course, I asked, "Are you hunting Ram Charge?" She said, "Yes, fighting Tremor Ram right now." These are a 16min repop (so I was told), so, I asked, "Can I join, please? This is my last spell." She says sure. I run over, I swing, maybe 3 or 4 times, and it uses Ram Charge. She already had beaten it down to about 40% when I reached where she was. About 10sec later......Nicest learns Ram Charge! I was like wow! How cool was that! So, anyway, just beat these down, np at all. Use this link to find some spawn points for them...Lumbering Lambert/Battering Ram = http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/bestiary.html?fmob=132, Rampaging Ram/Tremor Ram = http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/bestiary.html?fmob=261.

Ahhh, well, the time has come. This is a very very great post for me, but, also a very very sad one. It's a great post, because, I have FINALLY accomplished my goal of learning all Blu spells, on time (for the most part). I think only 2 or 3 of them were learned late. It's a sad post, because, this is the end of my thread (I'm going to miss seeing it available on the boards). I hope my thread helped many many Blus out there. As it was created for that purpose in the very beginning. To those new Blu hopefuls, I wish you the best in your adventures. Don't let anyone discourage you from trying to learn ALL OF YOUR SPELLS ON TIME IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT! I'm proof that it can be done, because I have done it. It was lots of fun, and you'll make new friends in the process. Stick to your guns. EVERYONE told me I couldn't do it, but, I did it....EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT! :P

I want to take this time to thank everyone who helped me in my journey. My social LS (you guys know I think you're awesome).

Special thanks to Ulicia. She helped this thread keep life in it, and helped me so many times throughout my journey, I'm glad to have met her in the process.

All the random friends who helped me along my journey, you know I'm thanking you now, you know who you are. It was so many of you, I don't remember all of you. I thanked you then, and I'm thanking you now. I had a blast! Any of you start to level Blu, and need my help, you know how/where to find me.

oh yeah....Blu owns, :P

Oh no, no worries, I won't abandon you guys. I'll always keep a look out for any new posts here. After all, this is by far the best posting I've ever done.

By the way, how are you coming along?

Also, I don't know if it'll get stickied. If it does, that would be very cool. If it doesn't, oh well, it had a good run.

I got all my spells up to 42 but Venom Shell, but I'll get that when I hit 42. I spent friday night lfg for, no kidding, 6.5 hours. Not even a single /tell or blind invite.

Last night I spent time on RDM to get the staging points for my AF Sword. I got all but Dvucca (or whatever its called...). I'll take my time with it, as I probably won't be using it at all. Just need it to flag other AF stuff.

Thanks for asking ^^

Nicest CONGRATULATIONS! Im slowly closing in on completion, hoping to wrap up all spells in the coming weeks, its hard for me to get hunting parties together but all I have left now are Body Slam, Memento Mori, Voracious Trunk, Tail Slap, Hysteric Barriage, Cannonball, Vertical Cleave and Plasma Charge. So far the Sea spells have been near the top on easiness (not considering the missions to get Sea of course). I learned Saline Coat and Temporal Shift within 5 minutes of our LS farming party starting lol

Cool cool, that's a great idea knocking your Staging Points out Seranos, as it will prove invaluable well after you finish up with Blu. I did the same, as I'm a Rdm myself, ^^. Dvucca was the longest/most difficult in my opinion. None of them are REALLY difficult as long as you know how to stealth (I had to learn all about that ever since 25Rdm my first 75 job, :P).

{Thank You} & {Congratulations!} Feyd. At least you have a head start on your {sea} spells. Plus, you don't have to worry about finding people to help you with it, because your LS farms there (that's cool). I wish you had a "Ulicia" on your server. She's the reason I was able to get some of the spells you are missing on time. Friends friends friends, if you don't have them, you'll have a HARD time leveling Blu WITH a complete spell list.

I'm sure just as you said, in a week or two, I'll be reading Feyd's post, about having a complete spell list, ^^. I look forward to it.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate the {Congratulations!} from everyone. I'll still be keeping up with this thread to watch how/when everyone completes their spell lists, so I can return the {Congratulations!} to all of you one by one, ^^.

Well, up to 22 Golems and still no {Ice Break}. I have fought the golems in Sanc. Zitah, as well as Fei'yin, as well as Beaucidine Glacier. So far Beaucidine Glacier is the easiest place to kill them. Little chance of aggro at lvl 50, and I get 2-3 TP moves per fight. Using my NPC speeds up the process since it can tank much better then me (I should have put it on tank rather then on DD), but yeah, it's SLOW GOING!!!

Been awhile I have had issues like this. Last one was {Healing Breeze} which took me a good week to get (currently 4 days in on {Ice Break}.

Just need to get this, {Hecatomb Wave}, and {Radiant Breath}, then I can finally start getting af... {/joy}.

Hopefully you get it soon, it took me countless tries and almost a week to get Bad Breath so I can understand the frustration. Also good luck on Radiant Breath. I was gimp on that spell until lvl 68 when a few people helped me get wyvern skull for Opo Opo crown quest, learned the spell off the wyverns in Ifrits Cauldron.

Playing as a nin, I learned how to solo them, so I don't expect them to be too bad, however, I am going to see if my GF will help me duo them, wouldn't be difficult at all(with the exception of the possibility of having to fight 20+ of those... which would SUCK). From what I remember they tend to favor that attack in Site B.

As for bad breath. I already have soloed Ochus, so my plan is to simply club ochu's to death when I get high enough... Since their accuracy is pathetic to say the least, I am hoping to not spend any MP on healing until after the fight, and no MP on damage during, and see how that works for me...

Whoa, sorry to hear about that Rfolkker. You'll get it eventually I'm sure, ><. As for Radiant Breath, I had a blast learning that one. Took a few Blus who all needed it, and we shredded those wyverns. At first, we were killing so fast, we had to slow down (killed the first two before they even got off one TP move). Lol, we were nervous, and thought they were going to be hard, so, we didn't hold back.

Hecatomb Wave, bah, that'll be a real easy one for you too.

No worries though, you're almost at the level for your AF hands, which, should shorten these spell hunting trips considerably (mine did). Keep at it, ^^.

I haven't had time to read all the posts, but for ppl who are levels 1-40 this could be useful. Soloing spells is not that hard and a handful will take a while, but most only took me 1-3 trys. Only 3 spells, I learned in a pty or with assistance so far. These are the mobs I went after and the locations:

SPELL / MOB FAMILY / MOB / LOCATION / MOB LEVEL

1 Foot Kick > Rabbit > Forest Rabbit > West Ronfaure > lvl 1-5
1 Pollon > Bee > Maneating Hornet > South Gustaberg > lvl 2-5
1 Sandspin > Worm > Carrion Worm > West Ronfaure > lvl 1-5
4 Wild Oats > Mandragora > Mandragora > East Sarutabaruta > lvl 3-5
4 Sprout Smack > Sapling > Walking Sapling > South Gustaberg > lvl 2-6
4 Power Attack > Beetle > Scarab Beetle > West Ronfaure > lvl 3-6
8 Queasyshroom > Funguar > Forest Funguar > West Ronfaure > lvl 3-6
8 Cocoon > Crawler > Crawler > East Sarutabaruta > lvl 3-6
8 Metallic Body > Crab > Land Crab > South Gustaberg > lvl 5-6
12 Feather Storm > Yagudo > Yagudo > East Sarutabaruta > lvl 3-8
12 Battle Dance > Orc > Orcish Mesmerizer > West Ronfaure > lvl 3-8
16 Healing Breeze > Dhalmel > Wild Dhalmel > Tahrongi Canyon > lvl 14-16
16 Sheep Song > Sheep > Wild Sheep > West Ronfaure > lvl 5-8
16 Helldive > Bird > Akbaba > La Theine Plateau > lvl 9-13
18 Blastbomb > Orcish Warmachine > Orcish Stonelauncher > Ghelsba Outpost > lvl 8-10
18 Bludgeon > Cardian > Three of ... > Outer Horutoto Ruins > lvl 5-9
18 Cursed Sphere > Fly > Damselfly > Valkrum Dunes > lvl 20-23
20 Claw Cyclone > Tiger > Forest Tiger > Jugner Forest > lvl 22-25
20 Blood Drain > Bat > Black Bat > Meriphated Mountains > lvl 15-18
22 Poison Breath > Hound > Bandersnatch > Gusgen Mines > lvl 21-24
24 Soporific > Trap > Flytrap > Carpenter's Landing > lvl 18-22
26 Screwdriver > Pugil > Beach Pugil > Valkrum Dunes > lvl 23-26
28 Bomb Toss > Goblin > Goblin Tinker > Valkrum Dunes > lvl 17-20
30 Grand Slam > Gigas > Giant Ranger > Qufim Island > lvl 28-31
32 Chaotic Eye > Coeurl > Coeurl > Meriphated Mountains > lvl 15-18
32 Sound Blast > Cockatrice > Axe Beak > Meriphated Mountains > lvl 25-28
34 Death Ray > Hecteyes > Hecteyes > Ranguemont Pass > lvl 31-34
34 Smite of Rage > Weapon > Poltergeist > Konschtat Highlands > lvl 18-20
36 Pinecone Bomb > Treant > Walking Tree > Jugner Forest > lvl 25-28
36 Digest > Slime > Jelly > Gusgen Mines > lvl 27-29
38 Uppercut > Gobbue > Gobbue > Pashhow Marshlands > lvl 22-25
38 Jet Stream > Bats > Dark Bats > Qufim Island > lvl 25-27
40 Terror Touch > Ghost > Bogy > Valkrum Dunes > lvl 28-30
40 Mysterious Light > Magic Pot > Magic Pot > Lower Delkfutt's Tower > lvl 28-29
42 MP Drainkiss > Leech > Thread Leech > Valkrum Dunes > lvl 21-25
42 Venom Shell > Uragnite > Coralline Uragnite > Bibiki Bay > lvl 32-35

*has been easiest for me to learn almost all these spells soloing and the mob either easy prey through too weak
*use Bludgeon if available to give them fast TP to use skill
*take off auto-target so when it is almost died, turn away until it performs one of its skills

Spell learning has been pretty easy for me and I hope this will help the present or future Blue Mages :) Best of Luck!!!
