I have not played for a while and I am planning to come back. But I have forgotten most of my spells. What spells do you use and why? I would really appreciate the knowledge.

Well I decided to look into the spells myself. I came up with a list. Let me know what you think.

Winds of Promyvion - for refresh
Actinic Burst - mostly for refresh. But the effect is nice
Animated Wail - for the haste
Battery Charge - for refresh
Delta Thrust - for the plague
Heavy Strike - for double attack
Empty Thrash - for double attack
Occultation - for the defense
Head **** - for stun
Plenilune Embrace - for healing
Regeneration - for regeneration
Sudden Lunge - for stun
Amorphic Spikes - for darkness sc
Orcish Counterstance - for counter
Final Sting - for Zanshin
Whirl of Rage - for Zanshin
Goblin Rush - for light sc and damage
Water Bomb - for the mb
Zephyre Mantle - for conserve mp and defense
Cocoon - for defense

Well let me know what you think and what you would change.

It depends in part with what subjob you're wanting to use. If you're using a subjob that has native Dual Wield (such as Dancer or Ninja), then most of the spells you have set are okay, but if you were to choose /Warrior or one of the other viable SJ options, then you'd want to equip spells for Dual Wield. Additionally, if you go the /WAR path, you'll want to take out the spells for Double Attack since the traits don't stack.

I wouldn't bother with Final Sting, Whirl of Rage, Zephyr Mantle, and Water Bomb, and focus on more utility spells. Having Dream Flower equipped is always good for situations where you might need to toss out a quick sleep, and Diamondhide for your party doesn't hurt either. Lastly, if I'm fighting something where I feel that it'd be useful, I'll consider something such as Cimicine Discharge or Filamented Hold for the slow.

For /war I add spells to get triple attack and having but head **** and sudden lunge is unneeded. The stun from sudden lunge is much stronger then head ****. Zanshin is pretty much meh and wouldn't even notice it anyway but AoE stun is useful but not enough to keep it set. Counter stance is another one I don't find very useful and if not soloing would be a waste of spell points and even soloing I don't bother using it. Also if you don't have a decent cure pot set PB might burn though more mp then HP it heals but decent cure gear kicks the pants off magic fruit, can set both if you might have to heal a party or if you just want to feel safe. Regeneration falls to play style to but unless you are only getting hit with weak attacks I don't see the waste of points being worth it but again my opinion.

I discovered something cool. I can MB off of light using charged whisker. But I am unsure if I have a lot of need for sleep. I tend to solo the majority of the time. So I was thinking Barrier Tusk.

Soloing is were you need sleep the most for unexpected links. For soloing I use /rdm or /dnc(dyna solo you have no choice but dnc) since barrier tusk is meh at best and a waste of mp at worst as it only last 60s. If I'm soloing seal NMs I might go /nin and set procs for asmall chance at yellow so even more shadows nd lessens the need for tusk. AoE farming you have to use /rdm since pulls take far longer then tusk would last and in longer solo fights you want to spend the least amount of time buffing your self. Also
