It also keeps the 11 as a priority roll and doesn't strip it.......

For the BRDs out there, this isnt a suprise. With songs, if you play song #1 with an instrument that gives song #1+, then play song #2 (with an instrument that does not benefit song #2), then play song #3, song #3 overwrites song #2 and not song #1.

For songs, the song with the least remaining duration was removed, its not a first in, first out scenario.

Its not suprising that the rolls work this way either, but its a fantastic note! Although it wont be fantastic if you get an Evokers roll #11, COR roll #5, then Chaos roll #4 XD

I'm not too excited by this... I now have to burn Fold if I hit 11 on Evokers and want 2 melee buffs on myself. :(

OK... I just discovered that if you roll two 11s, the oldest one is overwritten by the next roll. Makes sense, because if you couldn't overwrite, you wouldn't be able to double-up.

Way to kinda f up the most basic ability for a cor SE. The 10min thing was kinda a bad idea from the begining since it would mess with your current cycle. Now its even worse that we can overrite it. I wish they would adjust this back to how it was before. They can leave the 10min bonus but ditch the perma ability to it.

You need to step back and look at why you are complaining.

You are a corsair. You are a support job. And you're mad that a 10-minute bonus to your most powerful result means that you, personally, lose a buff?

Get some perspective.

Well, since you're only using rolls for 1-2 minutes out of every 5, (and actually less if you get an XI) the rest of your time you're doing damage. Hurting your damage is counterproductive.

Mellowy is awesome, now.

Here's some advice: quit ******** and don't go for XI on Evokers. 5 is lucky so stay on that. 6 is the same as 7, 8 and better than 9 or bust. Given you only have 2 out of six chances at a better roll than 6, you might as well stop there. Thus ends your risk at landing an XI.

I only go for XI on Evokers if I'm in a Mage party and have both fold and snake eye up. In a meripo or xp party, never.

With this new XI duration, at times it will hurt your damage; other times it will help.. Let's keep in mind that XI Evoker's is not a common occurance, especially so since unlike other rolls, it's smart to stay on VI.

I would imagine that most of the time, you'll be able to Fold an XI Evoker's off of yourself, if you want to. I can't see any reason to get riled up over this change.. To me it's not a big deal either way, just a new factor to consider.

What exactly is the benefit to an occasional 10 minute roll? It just doesn't seem like it has any positive effects but can be pretty annoying.

XI on chaos is a pretty powerful buff. If you can keep that for 10 min, that's far nicer than rolling it off every 5 min for something that is a lesser buff.

Yes. And the part that is actually productive is the part where the party members who you have been invited to buff enjoy 15+ uninterrupted minutes with your most powerful result.

I mean, seriously:

It's like people have no clue whatsoever why they have been invited.

I'm keeping my XI loving purely for bolters roll - had a great stint of fun with that on an 11 trying to beat my fastest lap time in Nashmau by the dice NPC :D

The important question is whether a party member (say a melee that got in range of an evokers XI) will also keep that roll on them when you continue the cycle. You can't fold it off of him. :/

They will until the Evoker's XI duration ticks down to under 5 minutes, at which point 2 newly applied rolls will be able to bump it off.

I've seen this incorrectly assumed and incorrectly stated in many places, likely due to S-E's imprecise wording in the update notes...

The new XI effect is NOT 10 minutes added to the normal roll duration. It is a 10 minute TOTAL time before Winning Streak merits.

Put another way, XI means normal Roll Time + 5 minutes.

I first noticed when I rolled XI Evoker's and XI Scholar's in a 75COR/37WHM 75WHM/37SCH duo and just left them up, since all we were doing was curebombing an NPC as part of one of the new Sandy WotG nation quests. I thought it wore faster than 15min (I have 0/5 Winning Streak), but didn't know if I was just being crazy. So I double-checked and it's definitely 10min total.

Easy to test - I just walked outside my Mog House, rolled XI Dancer's Roll, waited 10 minutes and watched it drop at the 10min mark. Still very nice and an unexpected boost, but not as strong as people are saying.

Yea you're right, I wasn't thinking straight. I wonder how this changes the math on doubling up.

I was hitting 11s like crazy all dynamis as well. The buffed 11 roll seems to have some resistance to being dispelled as well from what I've noticed.

Try getting a Double XI on both mage rolls (was doing Evoker's and Wizard's for the 4 BLMs in my party and then melee rolls for me and the DRK). Was a mess, both time I got a 4, then a 5, and since it was on 9 and I didnt have a Bust on me I Double-Up both times and landed on XI, who would've thought? I then proceeded to do Chaos and Samurai for me and the DRK and lo and behold when I checked, I still had both mage rolls on me. Lesson learned? Stay on the **** Unlucky Numbers if you don't want to keep mage buffs for the next 9 minutes. Of course, I wasn't ******* because even as a COR/WAR I am still a Support Job.
