I've completed the 3 main daggers that most DNCs will be going after so thought I'd put together a guide on some of the best spots to do them in and my personal experiences. If any of you have suggestions for better spots I'll add them in.
Trial 16: 100 rabbits in any weather.
Party Spot Ulegurand Range G-10/11
This is pretty much the standard spot where most people will be teaming up to do trial 16 since ice weather is pretty consistent during the day. There are quite a few bunnies to kill in this area but can be annoying because you have to dodge both tigers and snolls. Also make note to pull the ones down the ramp where the buffalo are (about 5 down in that area) and to the northeast a bit there are two more heading to the tunnel around H-10.
Solo Spot Ulegurand Range J-11ish
This is where I went on the first day of doing the trials. There is a lil corner here where you can easily pull 5-6 bunnies safely even though you're surrounded by raptors. After killing each round I had to wait about 1-2 minutes before the next round started to repop so there's not that much downtime.
Trial 17: 100 crabs in fire/wind/lightning/light weather
Party Spot/Solo Spot Vunkurl Inlet [S] H-10
This is also a pretty standard spot to find many people doing their trials so its really easy to find a group. The weather here won't be as frequent as it was in Ulegurand, but still good enough to get this trial done fairly quickly. Both thunder and wind weather will take up most of the day and very frequently popped back to back.
Trial 18/24/30: 100 monsters in fire/thunder/wind weather/day Ulegurand Range
I grouped these all together because you can just kill whatever EP mobs on certain days. I suggest if you're going after multiple daggers to grab another 16 and head back to Ulegurand range. As long as the conditions are met for the 18/24/30 Trials you will get credit for both daggers even if ice weather isn't up. If you get to group with quite a few people you can blow through these in no time.
Trial 19: 100 aquans in fire weather/day Vunkurl Inlet [S]
Similar to my previous suggestion you can do this trial back in Vunkurl while working on your Trial 17 for another dagger. Again only the fire day has to be up and you can get credit for both daggers w/o any weather for 17.
Trial 20: 150 Beasts fire weather/day Ulegurand Range
Yup it's back to Ulegurand to whoop up on some more bunnies. If you're going for your third dagger then go ahead and pull out another 16 to get credit for both. And don't worry if you get tiger aggro this time, they count as beasts too.
Trial 21: 200 flans fire weather/day Mount Zhayolm
Been pretty easy up until this point but unfortunately here's where it stops unless you have some BLM friends (or offer to merc some that are already there) There's not much that you can offer in terms of help unless you desperate flourish, stun agas, and stutter step (only if there are 1 or 2 BLMs with you, otherwise you would just be slowing them down). In a bigger group you could sub BRD and sing ballad 1...not much but at least its something.
If you're desperate and in no rush you could solo these but very slowly. I got stuck with having 4 flans left to finish this trial and went ahead and soloed them. Pretty much took me the entire day, but that's because I was REALLY cautious about riding VF to stun -agas.
Trial 1100: 200 vermin firesday/weather Fort Karugo Narugo (G-5/H-5)
Back to this spot for vermin. I still was able to do these at 78 but not so sure when these EP become TW.
Edit: still EP at 80 so nothing to worry about
Trial 1101: 250 Manticores firesday/weather Cape Terrigan (G-5)
Pretty open area around the cloister of gales with quite a few greater manticores here. Solo is a bit difficult even at 80 but doable.
Trial 25: 100 Vermin wind weather/day Fort Karugo Narugo [S] G-5/H-5 Alternatively: Rolanberry fields [S] G-6
I did this solo (and at the time of this writing I'm doing it again for my second eva dakini) and the first time I did spiders in The Boyada Tree. Spiders there are plentiful, but get annoying because they are always in pairs so its difficult to fight just one and having to constantly erase spider web was also annoying. Plus if there are other people there killing for different reasons then the 16 min respawn times on spiders can slow you down as well.
The place that I just discovered today to do this trial is in Rolanberry fields [S] at the G-6 area. There are 6 dragonflies here that are SUPER EASY to take down with 5 min respawn times. I was kinda late to getting to the spot and I also had a pair of pups show up and was trying to steal my claims and yet I still was able to get about 30 kills in for the rest of the day. With the full day and no competition it would have been easy to get 40 to 45 kills done with almost no effort. There are also flies of this level in Fort Karugo (which also has wind weather) and Meriphataud Mountains [S] so when I research both of those maps I'll edit this.
Edit: Well I just got done checking out Fort Karugo Narugo [S] and I must say this is a MUCH better spot than Rolanberry. Not only does it have wind weather that lasts a very long time, but there are many more dragonflies here. I just knocked out about 50 during the actual windsday (with a 5 min break thrown in) and another 10 or so before the weather finally died out. You do have to dodge some Jumbo Rafflesia and a few Yagudo in this spot, but not a huge deal.
Trial 26: 150 birds wind weather/day Wajaom Woodlands M-7 => K-7
Another fairly easy trial. I started out by zoning out of the tower from Whitegate and killing the lesser colibri there then making my way west and killing the birds in the clearing in K-7 and the few to the south of here. Pretty easy to solo or duo if there is someone else who needs them done. This is also a good spot because not many people party here. Of course, if there isn't anyone by the leypoint or at any of the other optimal bird camps then those would be better. Wind weather is mildly frequent here too which makes it the most optimal zone.
Trial 27: 200 Morbols wind weather/day Wajaom Woodlands or Rolanberry Fields [S] F-11/12/13
This was my primary spot to do morbols. These are easier to kill than the Ameretats in wajaom/bhaflau and there are quite a few more in a concentrated area. I soloed about half of the time and the other half was done duo with either a thf or another dnc. These things do use bad breath moderately so be prepared to spam healing waltz. That does slow your kill time down a bit but even solo I was able to kill about 20 per day. There are also a couple of quadav that roam around this area, but are easily avoidable. On the non windsdays, Wajaom suffices when wind weather is up to get a few kills in here and there.
I just completed the first 100 kills for my second dagger all in wajaom and it seems that this is definitely the better spot for either solo or groups. These morbols have a bit more HP than the ones in Rolanberry Fields [S] but in that entire 100 kills I only saw bad breath maybe twice. The info about the regen was correct in that you just have to pull them away from their spawn point. Vampiric lash can be a pain if it goes off, but its blinkable by shadows so most of the time it really wasn't a big deal.
Trial 1104: 200 Beasts Wind weather/day Ulegurand Range
Standard fare here, kill buffalo, tigers, and rabbits
Trial 1105: 250 puks wind weather/day Wajaom Woodlands
Lots of puks to the south of WW. Wind weather very hefty in this zone too and lots of people to team up with to get this done quickly.
Trial 1893: 300 Plantoids wind weather/day Bhaflau Thickets H7/I8
Did this solo in two sittings. Treant saplings and treants in this area go down pretty quickly (especially if you're 85 already) Wind weather for 5-6 points per kill speed things up very nicely
Trial 31: 100 Plantoids thunder weather/day The Boyahda Tree
I'll honestly admit, I kinda cheated when I did this one. I started out soloing mandies here which was fairly easy. There were about 6 or 7 DRKs here working on their scythes so I asked them if they would help me. Before the day ended, I had all 100 kills done XD. Otherwise this is a pretty good spot since thunder weather also pops here and mandies are fairly easy to kill.
Trial 32: 150 Arcana thunder weather/day Ro'Maeve
Pretty good place to multitask if you want to get some FOV done as well. You're more than likely to find other people working on either this trial, the 400 arcana for the Athame pathway, or some other weapon entirely so it's easy to group and get these knocked out quickly. Thunder weather pops here too (not that frequently in my experiences though) so you can get some non thunderday kills in.
Trial 33: 200 Qutrubs thunder weather/day
Here is the trial that makes me cringe everytime I think about it. If you have 5 or 6 friends that are more than willing to help you get this done then the absolute best spot will be right outside of Dvucca Isle SP. These are VT qutrubs, but in a full party they are extremely easy to take down and have 5 min respawns. There are only about 6 or 7 in the immediate area but thats more than enough to get 30-40 kills in per day. Thunder weather is moderate in this zone too.
Now if you're soloing or in a small group of 2-4 then you will want to head to Arrapago Reef from the Ilrusi Atoll staging point. This will allow you to head south to the F-9 area (dont have to pass though any gates) where there are about 6 DC qutrubs and if you head east past the Imps and across the small bridge you will find another group of qutrubs (about 9 or 10 if you keep traveling east) around H-10 I-11. If you plan to solo these I suggest you only go after the DRK ones (they carry swords as opposed to the BLM ones that carry daggers). The BLMs suck because they like to spam agas but they also have icespikes which the para effect can easily stop your VF from going off.
Trial 1108: 200 lizards thunder weather/day Ulegurand range raptors (J-10)
Just got done with this one. A small group of 2-4 can slaughter these things over and over, with their quick respawn times you can easily get through 70-80 of them in a single thundersday.
Trial 1109: 250 Golems thunder weather/day Ve'Lugannon Palace North Genbu entrance
This is probably the best place to solo or small group enkidu golems. Running the loop between the basement and the top floors and you will almost never run out of mobs. Alternatively you could go to Ulli pop camp, but not only are these higher level, you have to wait for repop times if you have a full party killing them quickly.
Edit: If you're in a small group (4-5) or a whole alliance, its much better to go to the loop that surrounds Celestial Nexus in The shrine of Ru'Avitu. Just did this with 12 people this morning and we knocked out a little over 80 in a single day so definitely worth checking out (got quite a few diorite drops too as a plus ^^)
Trial 1895: 300 Beasts thunder weather/day The boyahda tree
Really love the new additions to the trials. Moss eaters go down super quickly, and thunder weather does quite nicely here. Got lucky and had double thunder for the entire time for 7 points per kill and knocked out all 300 before the game day hit 12:00. And that was just with 2 other people with me.
And that pretty much sums up how I've done these three daggers up to this point. Again if there are any suggestions for better spots and mobs let me know and I'll edit it. Other than that...GL in going after these. It seems like a lot of work but they are totally worth having. (not to mention all the BS/KS/merits you rack up from doing these as well =P)
