Dual boxing Glavoid?Follow

Hello.

After much thought on what weapon to create i am now thinking of a Twashtar.

I have already done the 3 x weapons, 3 x triple stars, 3 x serra...

Before progressing further and commiting to any specific path i wanted to know if it is possible to duo or dual box Glavoid and if so how easy/hard is he... and where it is best to stand etc...

I was thinking of doing it 1 x BLU and 1 x RDM, is that a good choice?

If there is any advice on positioning and atma choice then please let me know, and ofcourse let me know how tough it is to duo please... ive only beat him once along time ago in an alliance for the win.

Touching on the Kartika with Rudras Storm, for the trial that needs 30 coins of birth i have tried soloing the crabs and have yet not seen one coin drop of any kind... do the coins drop off of regular crabs or do you need to clear the zone to see any coins?

Any tips would be appreciated please.

In regards to farming the coins of birth, it goes by luck but personally for me and a lot of others they weren't very common. It took me almost 3 weeks of spamming everyday to get enough coins for dakka. In the end, I had almost 100 coins of every type except birth.

Another things, WoE is dead and this update didn't help. I was not able to move forward on upgrading my dakka to a higher tier.

Since the update I have seen maybe 2-3 people once in a while. At one point I noticed 13 people there but for the tiers I need to go farther, low numbers make it almost impossible. Usually there is 0 people there. SE needs to really add something to motivate people to do WoE.

Touching on the coins of birth, if they no longer drop off regular mobs IE crabs, and they are only obtainable when you get the win is that for any conflux win or just specific ones?

Wiki would need updating as according to that you can still get them off the crabs and it does not mention that you get them only on clearing the zone nor does it say what zone(S).

Well after living in WoE zone for a whole week spamming it with every single run possible (i had the week off and practicially didnt sleep cos i wanted this done) i finally got 30 coins of birth... i have untold amounts of all the others except ruin which was rarer than birth for me, but only those two were the least i saw the whole time.

So atm i have done 3 x nocuos weapon, 3 x black triple flappy things, 3 x serra, 4 x bugbear and as of right now 1 x La velue...

As said i have got the 30 coins in place, and silly amounts of crests and high crests, also started to buy dice at 100k a pop, so that trial alone would cost 10m at those prices.

I dont even know if its all worth the trouble or not.

What are your opinions on both the dagger and rudras storm?


PS: i love VNM's i spammed them in aby for stones etc and dont mind them at all, hovering hotpot is the one im least looking forward to as i had heard it can take upto 24hrs to pop which seems unlikley and odd to me.

Of course I can't speak for others, but my experience with the Hovering Hotpot trial wasn't bad. It seemed to always pop within a half-hour of window opening. It turned out to be a very short trial. Hopefully your experience will be similar.

I think the Black Triple Stars and Serra were the worst of those types of trials because of the large territory. The worst VNM will be Feuerunke by far. Yacumama is pretty easy and Tammuz is a joke.

Update:

I did 4/4 Hovering hotpot, longest pop was just under 3hrs so not too bad.

I have started on the VNM's, ive done Yacumama 3 times so far, and he is not as easy as i thought he would be, ive never been in huge danger but he can take me to half HP a few times...

Not looking forward to Feuernunke based on a previous reply i got... is he really that bad?

I feel like im getting close to having Rudras Storm... how best to deal with Feuernunke? and what about the final VNM?

Edit 4/6 Yacumama, the last fight went very very smooth, i knew to stun hundred fists and added more EVA.

Any advice on Feuernunke would be awesome please



Edit: 3/6 on Fatboy slim now... this time i took him down in 35 mins, i noticed during his hundred fists that he takes full damage so i took advantage and went on the full offensive during those periods and ignored shadow recasts just relied on fan dance to absorb any landed hits.

I might have got lucky with HH then, i killed him then went afk for 90 mins and then started to kill all 3 skeles and the wraith (to avoid them agroing me when i was pulling the PH and to save on boredom) and the latest i had to wait was just under 90 minutes after the window opened, so essentially 3hrs after last time of death.

Another update...

I am now 6/6 Yacamama and i have started on the big blob (thats when the skele dont pop in his place !) i am so far 2/6 on Feuerunke and i thought Yacamama was tougher as it did more damage, all this fat boy does is spam slowga and the odd abyss move which has done a top end damage of 930 to me so far in 2 fights, i was prepared for hundred fist spam as the previous NM also did this.

Fights have so far taken 45 minutes and oddly 54 minutes respectively... weather was the same but 9 mins difference for some reason, EXP granted was 144 with signet (fought in Xarcarbard present).

I know absolutely nothing about the last VNM Tammuz... whats he like?

Feuerunke 6/6 completed... there was a time when all 4 zones he could pop in had the Skele NM in the spot so i had to take him out as MNK before i could carryon...

SLowest kill on this trial was 55 mins, fastest was 30 mins as i grew in confidence i WS'd him alot during his hundred fists, this took alot of his HP each time.

Just started Tammuz, all 3 zones had Chesma in them, i warped out the first two but then decided i had to kill the 3rd one, so i did... no problems at all, then popped Tammuz and just like Chesma he was no problem at all, i am 1/8 so far.

Just to recap i have my 30 coins of birth already, and my kindreds crests and high kindreds crests...

Working on Devious Die, not paying 150k each... so buying them slowly @ 31/100 right now.

You need a longer wait after using a WS or spell before you're able to initiate any other actions, otherwise the game will deny you with a "you must wait longer to perform that action" error.

Pretty sure /wait 3 is the ideal amount if you absolutely must have them in the same macro. If you were only swapping gear after doing the WS, /wait 1 would be ok. /wait 1 is also ok when going JA -> WS.

Since the Dnc forum's been kind of dead lately, thought I'd just put my two cents in here about something mentioned.

I've never been one that likes to have multiple commands in a single macro (like multiple job abilities, multiple spells, etc). Gear swaps I'll have multiple in a single macro, but as far as job abilities or spells, I prefer to keep them separated at all times. That way I can always access the situation and determine whether it'll be worth having that spell or ability used, or if it'd be a waste of time.

Like with Glavoid, if someone had it where they would do a buff on themselves and then weaponskill (with all that in the same macro), there's always a possibility of the time in between that buff being used and the weaponskill preparing that Glavoid would start using a TP move, thus your attack would just heal it. However, having them separated would allow you to still use the buff, but wait for a more opportune time to weaponskill.

May take up more macro space, but I find it far better to keep everything in its own macro rather than combine multiple commands in one macro.

I guess I disagree that glavoid uses sa and ta use as cues to ws. He is just random. The main mechanic on him is don't feed him HP.

And, although my macros are separated, putting a simple sa, wait1, ws is faster (and therefor better on something like glav) since you have to time these things.

When I did mine though, I never SA him. I cotanked as thf/dnc with a nin/dnc and we would tank with our backs to wall, fingers on the stun flourish for gorge/disgorge and a whm/blm to cure and stun agas. However 300 earth resist made that part of his game pretty much irrelevant.

A thf friend brewed 5 1/2 Glavoids before his brew wore. He would stay at flux 8 and hold his brew while another popped it and ran it to him. If you are going to brew, you need to make sure that you turn your back when he does any type of TP, otherwise you will heal him for too much.

When I worked on my shells, I duo'd a number of Glavoids with a nin/thf and whm/blm. As whm, I stayed in range, in a hybrid FC/Haste/CP set (I don't have SC) and would stun disgorge. Everything else I let thru. The nin would back tank when necessary and wheedle him down. I noticed the more people we had come out to "help" would result in uglier fights.

Just spam AE until you see a TP and then turn around. No need to switch between magical and non-magical.

His poison is horrible, so I would suggest taking your whm with you and just be on poisona and stona duty. I have seen a nin/dnc solo it, so it is possible, you just have to pay extra close attn and turn during the petra move. If you go dnc/nin, you can keep shadows up to avoid the poison. You could always amber farm KI, but no matter how many times we did this with our friends Twash, we always ended up with the same KI over and over again and still had to kill some NMs. We decided to go straight NM KI farming when we worked on mine.

I highly suggest having some form of TH when you get to the actual Glavoid kills. I was able to get all 50 of my shells in 26 Glavoids, which saved a lot of time.

The OaT will kick in more as far as multi-hits than the Double Attack will, but the Double Attack will affect both hands and not just the offhand, not to mention it will also affect weaponskills whereas the OaT won't. Since you're in the process of making a Twashtar, the Double Attack one will arguably do you better in that regard, since that extra DA will mean an increased number of swings of your mainhand, and with your Aftermath up, that'll mean even more chances to do damage with your Aftermath active.

Between those two I'd recommend the Double Attack one for the aforementioned reasons.

Other options for a dagger would be the Aluh Jambiya, which is better than the Strength path Thokcha, and the TP Bonus dagger, which will boost your Rudra's Storm damage quite a bit.

I know this is going to sound like a silly question but if i was using the DA dagger and i used Rudras storm could the double attack trigger on Rudras?

And would the DA dagger beat the OA2x dagger in regards to DDing overall?

I am mostly inclined to go for the DA at this point (i have got a STR dagger completed already)... but i do like swinging multiple times ever since i first used a joytoy some years ago.

What kind of DMG increase could that potentially yield?

Assuming a regular Rudras storm by me on dolls in A-Altepa would be say 4000 dmg... what does that mean with a double attack triggering with Rudras storm? would i likely see the increase?

And do you think the DA dagger beats the OA2x HQ dagger in terms of DD and usefulness? (i am only a DNC, i dont play THF)

If I was making daggers for Dancer and didn't have any reasonable expectation of taking Twashtar to 99, I'd use Aluh Jambiya/Fire Thokcha and call it a day. That's the cheapest and easiest dagger combination, and it's roughly equivalent to any of the other attainable options short of 99 Twashtar or Terpsichore.

PUP might have been able to solo it back when Phalanx negated Disgorge, but they patched that. I kinda doubt it could solo it now. Summoner might be able to solo it, but they'd have difficulty killing it before the rage timer went off. It'd probably get stolen.

I never broadcasted it because I never tried it and couldn't vouch for it. The people on FFXIAH talked about it sometimes, though.

I've never seen a resisted Disgorge (except for when BRD AF3+2 was broken and would negate it 100% of the time with Earth Carol II up). Stacking resist for that is a waste of time, though it will help with Stone nukes and Slowga.

NIN/DNC can solo Glavoid. You use Migawari to negate Disgorge. If Miga isn't up, turn around. Don't cast Miga with Slow up.

As luck would have it ive had a level 81 NIN for a very long time (did not originally level it in abyssea but played it 'properly' in CoP and ToAU areas... i have today jumped into an aby PT and took it to 99... will get used to playing it now, its been a long time since i used it and many things have been added to the job.

I hinted at it before, but a STR Thokcha is better than a level 90 Twashtar (let alone 85) overall. If you have a STR Thokcha and 99 DA dagger and you make an 85 Twashtar, the correct choice is to keep the Twashtar in storage until you have it at 95 or higher. Sorry, but that's just how the level 99 stats play out.

Now for Itzapapalotl... can DNC solo this? if so, any specific atmas to use or anything to be wary of and preapre for?

Would i be able to resist fire break with atmas of the future fabulous and the fire resist 100 atma of the brother wolf?

Or is that still not enough?

Failing that i think youre right with HP atma perhaps.

I cant find any mention anywhere of any DNC soloing Itzapapalotl... i am sure many must have done so or at least tried to.
