Soloing OUTSIDE of AbysseaFollow
I thought I ask if anyone has soloed anything impressive OUTSIDE if Abyssea at the lv90 cap. I've seen Icookpizza's RDM/blu vids, but I'm interested if anyone else has tried anything. I'm thinking of SEA Gods that previously were a pain, taking down SKY triggers/Gods without kiting, WotG missions, or any random NM that was a pain prior to the lv90 cap. I'm thinking of soloing some Zeni NM's for fun. I wouldn't mind duoing Kirin at lv99 either. Right now I'm looking for ideas to get my feet wet. I'm very out of practice but I wanted to do something that isn't par for the course either.

Rog and I discussed a lvl 90 Kirin duo strategy, and it seemed entirely solid (provided both RDMs drink a ton of pre-fight coffee).
Fafnir would be an easier duo target (I think he's soloable @90 with a particular subjob).

Id wager a lot of those things might become solo material soon. Faffy, Behe, Aspi, all those types. We are just going to out level them, and Queue the misses/resists going in our favor for once. When I get back I think I am going to give Artho a go, I think he used to be solo'd but I don't know if he has been since the rage timer was added.

Apparantly you can solo Faffy (maybe nid) as NIN if you back tank it. (have it use its tail to attack.) To avoid terror and sh*t. If a NIN can do it a RDM can as well.

Rather bold claim given NIN's higher evasion and TP inhibition options. Even then, I'd be skeptical since a good Flail could give either trouble.
In the past week I have taken down Genbu and his 2 pop item NMs solo as rdm. I was able to stand toe2toe against zipacna with /blu without any problems at all, and toe2toe against the 3 olla pots with /dnc - their dispell is awful and at times had to result to tp for cures. I tried genbu toe2toe with /blu it was working initially for about the 1st quarter of his hp but then things got a bit rought and i had to kite him around, having said this I did this before i had genbu's shield, not tried since i finally got it on the 3rd kill. I did these NMs 3 times in about the space of a week.

IDK if back tanking a Dragon is such a good idea. Flail sucks even at 90, you simply don't have the HP outside of abyssea to absorb that kind of instant damage. HNM's will always be a PITA due to their special moves not their level. Just look at KA a fcking level 55 NM that would kick the a$$ of many lv 75 players.

I don't remember flail being that bad even at 75 provided you had full HP, a 410 SS and a fairly decent pdt set.. I'd assume it wouldn't be that big of a deal even now, especially considering RDM limits his tp gain fairly well.

Problem with Flail is you don't know exactly when its going to use it. If you were lucky you had all those other things on, else you might be caught without the SS or various buffs when it went off. Its one of those "cheap shot" moves SE likes to through in, like Death / Doom and whatnot.

As RDM/BLU vs Fafnir, you would want to take a little extra care in maintaining Cocoon/SS/Bio. Besides that, there isn't a whole lot of buff/debuff urgency.
Spike Flail and TP-regain, together, are enough to shove Phalanx right off of the priority ladder.

Looks like the RDM had a -PDT and -MDT set when he was meleeing. Damnit, knew I should've kept gunning for those gearsets.
I'm helping a friend with her RotZ missions too, I'll have to give this a shot at least once.
