Recently got back into the game.

So I've been doing some research, and looked into Seekers Gear. In terms of Req/CDC gear, it looks like we're in heaven. In terms of a TP set though, the well is looking pretty dry.

I have the Camradarie Blade to hold me over at the moment, and I'm thinking I should be aiming for Buramenk'ah, though I don't know the first thing about Delve right now. I heard that's when your players needs to start being competent.

Outside of the Hagondes Armor Set, I'm not seeing much in terms of a DD build. Perhaps I'm missing something? Even the Atrophy set is kinda "Meh".

Wouldn't say our WS gear was improved directly so much as it was an indirect benefit of the ilvl stat distribution. If I remember correctly, the Delve armor can be upgraded via arlixers and such, of which the mage path does have some ATK option. At least for some of the pieces. I may sift through the lists here to see what I can come up with, but hardcore number crunchers may have something better. Either way, juggling the holy trinity of melee (ACC/ATK/Haste) is probably still gonna be rough. At least one-handers did get an improved stat ratio recently.

Edit: Quick and dirty TP set without looking into augments or weapons...

Okay, so the patch added a lot of stuff we can actually use. If using the above, could just +1 the AF. But I saw we're on the set with THF/BLU/DNC as well as the mage set even having decent Haste, Eminence can also help get you hooked up with an okay sword and dagger if you're just climbing to 99. Though the system best shines for fresh characters or people willing to grinding through monstrosity.

Using the Espial set instead of the above for the sake of comparison:
Quote:
Espial Cap: HP+32 MP+17 STR+20 DEX+22 VIT+20 AGI+22 INT+20 MND+20 CHR+20 Accuracy+5 Evasion+37 Magic Evasion+40 "Magic Def. Bonus"+3 Haste+7%
Espial Gambison: HP+53 MP+28 STR+22 DEX+27 VIT+21 AGI+27 INT+22 MND+22 CHR+22 Accuracy+6 Evasion+49 Magic Evasion+60 "Magic Def. Bonus"+5 Haste+3%
Espial Bracers: HP+22 MP+8 STR+7 DEX+33 VIT+25 AGI+8 INT+10 MND+28 CHR+16 Accuracy+4 Evasion+24 Magic Evasion+25 "Magic Def. Bonus"+2 Haste+4%
Espial Hose: HP+42 MP+14 STR+27 VIT+14 AGI+21 INT+28 MND+16 CHR+10 Accuracy+5 Evasion+39 Magic Evasion+90 "Magic Def Bonus"+5 Haste+5%
Espial Socks: HP+12 MP+8 STR+10 DEX+20 VIT+10 AGI+33 MND+10 CHR+26 Accuracy+4 Evasion+69 Magic Evasion+90 "Magic Def. Bonus"+3 Haste+3%
Dynamic Belt +1: STR+4 Accuracy+11 Haste+6%
Vespid Mantle: Attack+35 Weapon Skill Accuracy+10
Tlamiztli Choker: Attack+20 "Double Attack"-1%
Dudgeon Earring: Attack+8 "Subtle Blow"+1 Set: Enhances "Dual Wield" effect
Heartseeker Earring: Accuracy+8 "Subtle Blow"+1 Set: Enhances "Dual Wield" effect
Beeline Ring: HP+50 Accuracy+6 Ranged Accuracy+6 Evasion+6 "Subtle Blow"+6
Dhanurveda Ring: Accuracy+5 Ranged Attack+5 "Subtle Blow"+8
Jukukik Feather: DEX+4 Accuracy+4

Haste: 28%
ATK: 63 + 67.5 (STR) = 130.5
ACC: 57 + 79.5 (DEX) = 136.5
STR: 90
DEX: 106
DW: 7%
SB: 14
Set Bonus: Crit Damage +10%

Comes ahead a fair bit, namely in DEX and ACC. Have I mentioned how easy the Espial set is to get? I have it already and I've only been grinding sparks through Monstrosity. The first-time bonuses help a lot. Just run to all the zones and kill 10 of whatever, no EXP needed from the mob itself. Though Abyssea mobs don't seem to count at least in terms of Family qualifiers. If it weren't for the servers going down, I'd probably be a few k away from the new sword, too. Granted, I've done nothing but play today, really, so someone more casual might get a piece per day.

Now if only we could get some enspell mechanic tweaks and some correlation to magic damage bonuses and cure potency applications to ilvl weaponry.

I was actually pretty surprised to see were on DD gear for the new RoE gear as well. I currently have three of the five pieces (I have ilvl113 gear in to cover those), as well as the Eminent sword. It's somewhat baffling that gear so strong is so easy to obtain, but I'm glad since both my sister and myself can get into harder content now.

Fully agreed on Enspells though. Personally though I'd accept some love on any aspect of RDM right now.

Aside from the R/E accessories, I basically geared up how I listed on the cheap. The belt was the most expensive piece on Sylph with the others being sub-20k. When I left, my Almace was still in the Apa phase, so I'm wondering if RDM or BLU could solo Apa now without brews. Then again, since I doubt I'd ever 99, it might be easier to just get CDC from the WoE path.

Either way, I also got the dagger, club, and wayfarer set to round out some ilvl needs. I need to sit down and do some testing to see how the club compares to the old staves in terms of damage, though. Figure the MACC is more in favor of the club or even the sword for the moment.

I can't believe they actually added a system that rewards you for playing the game.

It's amazing isn't it.

I heard chant du cygne doesn't actually usually pull ahead of requ. without the aftermath from mainhanding empy? Is that true?

Would say it's situational. I still loathe the -ATK penalty on Req as it's something a one-hander doesn't need while trying to solidify ACC to consistently land all hits. Obviously CDC will be better to juice up if you're running in Abyssea for whatever reason still, but if you're even talking about AMs now, it's gotta be 119 version of Almace or bust since losing out on main-hand DPS with other ilvl weapons will just hurt too much. Either way, both of the new Eminence sets are decent for each WS, with Espial for CDC/DEX/ACC/Crit bonus and Wayfarer for Req/MND/seconday ACC from DEX. Some mix-and-match augments/upgraded AF may be better long term, but they're hard to go wrong with for entry level.

And for the sake of whether or not to stick to staves or use the eminent wand, a quick Blizz 1 test on level 1 mandies had 400 for the old magian staff in Wayfarer and some old INT/MATK accessories and 542 with the wand. I forgot to try a few T4s. Will do that in a bit here.
