Sch Update Follow

The following changes have been made to the scholar job:
- The maximum number of charges for the job ability “Stratagems” has been adjusted.
Lv. 10: 1 charge
Lv. 30: 2 charges
Lv. 50: 3 charges
Lv. 70: 4 charges

- The time required to regain one charge now varies depending on the maximum number of possible charges.
Maximum charges: 1 → Time to regain 1 charge: 4 minutes
Maximum charges: 2 → Time to regain 1 charge: 2 minutes
Maximum charges: 3 → Time to regain 1 charge: 1 minute 20 seconds
Maximum charges: 4 → Time to regain 1 charge: 1 minute

- The following scholar job abilities have been introduced:
Sublimation (Lv.35)
Stores MP while reducing HP. The effect ends once the MP limit is reached, HP is too low, or you are attacked. Stored MP is gained when the ability is reactivated.
*Your character’s HP will slowly decrease while storing MP and you will be unable to enter healing mode or log out while this ability is in effect.

Addendum: White (Lv.10)
Allows access to additional White Magic spells while using Light Arts.

Addendum: Black (Lv.30)
Allows access to additional Black Magic spells while using Dark Arts.

- Scholars will now be able to cast additional white and black magic spells while using the new job abilities “Addendum: White” and “Addendum: Black”.
These additional spells will be added to a scholar’s magic lists after being acquired, but will only be selectable when under the effect of “Addendum: White” or “Addendum: Black”.

- Scholars have gained the job trait “Conserve MP.”

- Spells cast during the effect of the job abilities “Accession” or “Manifestation” will now only cost double the MP instead of triple.

- The casting time, recast time, and duration of the following spells have been adjusted:
Sandstorm/Rainstorm/Windstorm/Firestorm/Hailstorm/Thunderstorm/Voidstorm/Aurorastorm

- “Light Arts” will now also increase the enfeebling magic skill.

- Scholar job abilities now have unique status icons.

And a New Spell
Klimaform (SCH Lv.46)


No changes to the Helix damage Formula but this is a serious Update
Sublimation Schs new level 35 ja will make this a must have sub for All mage jobs Good job SE.

OVER-@#%^ING POWERED {All right!}

By the sounds of it, SCH has suddenly really boosted to insane levels, particularly if these Addendum White/Black give specifically Blink, Stoneskin, Gravity, Bind, Sleep.

4 Charges @ 1min recast is also just.. epic.

Reraise WHM Lv.33
SCH Lv.40 (Addendum: White)
Teaches the white magic Reraise.
Grants you the effect of Raise when you are KO'd.

Reraise II WHM Lv.60
SCH Lv.75 (Addendum: White)
Teaches the white magic Reraise.

overpowered..... HELL no this brought us finally up to par and help shape the job. Now we have more flexability, hell the other day was wondering y we didn't even get sleep yet a drk gets it. O and they fixed weather spells \o/.
sucks they didn't fix helix spells (weither that be the time between tics or the formula). Wondering what that new sch only spell is going to do (idk y they didn't say what it does and i know blm are wondering details on that new warp spell). Good job SE.... now to sit back and wait for the gimping sch updates

This is the best update to and I was really looking forward to this.
Yay for the Addendum! And RaiseII! What if we get the TierIV elemental magics too with Add:Black?
I can't wait!
Now to spam Haste on my clock.

Those are the only spells listed in the patch updates.

We won't know the full list of addedum spells until we can either .datmine or log in.

The fact I can snow Sleep II + JA = Sleepga II is good for me haha.

This is nice, the fact that the SCH gets truely stronger as it levels even in terms of JA timer reduction is nice. Too nice. And now only double not triple the MP? Great..and with the weather spells that I already use makes it nicer!

I can't wait to use that new JA for the MP. I'm going to sub it into my SMN first thing..let it suck some HP to restore MP. Regen II myself to see if it helps get rid of some of the HP reduction ^^ good times either way.

I'm confused here, is this a sort of Refresh effect for the Scholar only?

I read over this update and was very impressed with it.

This is definitly not a complaint for me this entire update is just made of complete and utter win. If "Retaliation" is under level 37 my pld just cried tears of joy. My drk got "Absorb Acc" meh but win nontheless But I noticed one little issue. NO HELIX FIX =(. Well heres to hoping our merits will sort that mess out perhaps Helix Tier IIs. that would be almost too much thank you SE.
Ooops I forgot I got new Blu goodies =) once again ty ty ty SE.

Yeah no helix fix but maybe there's something about the helix spells we're not see'ing or..something I don't know I think S.E. knows of the problem just that they didn't fix it means they..forgot or we're over looking the way a helix spell should be used.

I'm excited either way LV73 and now can only wait 1 min per charge? VERY content..that 12 min for all 3 charges was killin' me for a while

Well concerning the helix issue the only thing i can think of is our new spell.
Klimaform (SCH Lv.46)
Directly translated that just means Climate Form so perhaps that will enhance the Helixes or something "Wishful thinking" Se Knows its broken, There gonna fix it. I am so happy I just took this job to 75 now I can focus on af and such. Would be super cool if our Af weapon was a Book for the ammo slot. I know I know Wishful thinking.

SCH already has a lot of the spells available to BLM and RDM over 37 (namely, the nukes). Most of RDM's most useful spells are learned prior to 37, and they scale up with level, unlike say Cure I or Cure II...or Raise II. I can get Paralyze, Slow, Silence, Gravity, Dispel, Sleep, Dia II, Phalanx and the Enspell series by subbing /RDM, and they will be just as useful at level 75 as they were when I first got them.

Learning a spell that does not get better with level, like Raise II or Reraise II, is completely different.

Melee may not be relevant to you. Personally, I like to do it whenever I can, and I've got to say SCH is at the bottom of the ranks right alongside SMN when it comes to the mages. In fact, WHM is arguably better than RDM with respect to this. Stop acting all outraged that WHM suddenly lost a slight bit of uniqueness for a spell you already have a better version of. It's like BLMs getting mad that RDM and SCH get up to tier III nukes.

think not buffing helix spells might be SE's way of seeing how the new system for sch would work out and try not to "power" sch up so much that they get tons of hate mail from pissed off mages. lot of work they had to do on this. Personally think their is something about helix we are all missing.... Gotta remember that no1 has played post patch so maybe the changes they did for sch was enough for us till SE figures that they work or don't. Really think that Merits will fix helix for those in HNMLS. O yeah.... how goes .dat mining... i seen dnc AF...

This is Big win for sch who were looked opon as lower than pup/drg (HNMLS joke)

we get what a B in whm and blm magic. probally give us B+/A- at best. Wonder how SE will pull this off having us get our AF since no coffers and really don't think they will have us pay for the AF like blu had to do (which was pretty lazzy)

I thought I posted here, but I didn't.

Sublimation will store MP like charges while draining HP. You use the ability again to get the MP. More like a...(who said it) DoT convert, not Refresh.

OK so how does this work? Is it an additional effect JA buff like dark arts and light arts? Is it a JA with a huge recast timer? Does it have a set duration, then wear off? Is it a one-time use only like elemental seal ?

i find T4 nukes hard to believe... btw did we get blink and stoneskin.... thats the only way u could get lvl 75 mages to sub it (IE blm for engame).

So far I have 4 -na spells w/ addendum as sch 25; they appear gray until you use the charge to unlock them. No additional charges are needed to continue using the spells.

Leonadis is correct the Addendums stay active like L/D arts
and are not consumed buy a spell cast like other stratagems!

Addendum has a 2min recast.
Sublimination has a 30 sec recast. And restores the same amount of mp as it drained hp. 2hp/tick drained. At level 42 Sublimination restored a max of 152mp, after it was fully charged.

Sublimination uses no charge.

Because Tier IV nukes with a B elemental magic, less MAB, less MAB gear/elemental skill gear is completely going to ruin BLM. -_-

You still got aga spells and AM2 on us. and access to 60+ more skill

Also haven't gotten an update since 2003. Scholar should not exist. It should have been a buff to WHM and BLM instead.
