There are simply far too many great threads on this board to cram them all in stickies at the top of the first page. So I've spent the last three hours sifting through the 66+pages of this board to dig up the best nuggets of information I could find. If you read through them all, you'll find I've posted on almost all of them. This listing might be biased then, but I make a habit in posting in the threads I think are helpful, and I'm trying to assemble those threads here. You also may find that I've written a few of the threads myself. I put them in this compilation as an act of sheer hubris, but I hope you find them useful.

The beautiful thing about a link thread is that you can peruse it as you please, and read bits of information as a time. It will be long, but not nearly as long as collecting all the information in one post. If you come across anything I missed that you want in here, or if a new great thread comes out, simply leave a post here and I'll edit it in as fast as I can. Enjoy reading some of these posts, many you may have missed, and others simply forgotten.

Dont know how things get stickied but this should definetly be one.

That is exactly my inspiration. So many people put up something good, only to have it buried a few days later.

Just now I added SirJac's new study to the Conserve MP section. It seemed well-written to me and he's got his facts straight.

Until our begs for a sticky is hopefully heard (the forum people are busy, and we are understanding and patient), i ask everyone on the forum to keep this thread in the upper levels of the first page. I personally do not wish to see any one person having to bump it too many times. This is a group effort to keep it a fake sticky for a while. So i beg of everyone on the blm forum, keep this thing up high.

I have a suggestion for removal, but without any suggestions for replacement just yet. I just noticed a guide listed there that isn't really designed to help...well anybody outside of an extremely narrow segment of the population.

If asked I could probably put together a somewhat better version of the guide up, but I'm just testing the waters on the BLM Boards. I know how some Job boards get a little testy (WHM). ^^

If you're talking about "My name is Larry and I'm a Galka Black Mage," I have it up there because it was the least race bashing thread I've found, as well as it has a great title :P I'd prefer to leave that one up, but if any bipartisan race threads surface, I'll definitely add them.

If you're not talking about that thread, please let me know.


As as for stickies and bumping...

I'm pretty sure they won't put another sticky in the Black Mage forum anytime soon. Theres already plenty at the top. It also seems that the admins in the Forum Feedback area aren't really thrilled with excessive bumping either, and threaten to completely nuke a thread that's been bumped too much.

However, I do plan on leaving a post any time I find something useful to add to this link list saying its been updated, and that should keep it at least on the first page. Also, I'm sure some of you have seen threads that are useful to black mages that I haven't, especially ones that are not on these boards. If you see anything on GameFAQS, IGN, or anything of the like you think everyone should read, leave the link here and I'll put it up!

I was pretty sure that only applied to dead threads. I believe Kaolin actually says somthing along the lines of keeping you threads bumped if there are too many stickies.

In regards to compilation threads (which yours is) I can't help but think there could be some sticky rearanging going on. I posted the original sticky request, but now I realized I neglected to mention that it was a compilationn in the title.

In any case, I will put up an ammended sticy request when I can, or someone else could give it a shot. Just don't do what I did and neglect to put the fact that it's a compilation in the title.

Okay seriously what the ****? I am rated down now for trying to get somthing stickied?! Am I the only one that even cares that this is probably the best damned thread to happen to the Black Mage forums in all of black magery?!

It will get stickied, it just takes time. We can't expect the administrators to get back to us instantly. I know BLMs aren't the most patient people in the world (i for sure am not) but we can't cause a giant ruckus for something as simple as a sticky.
