You can cap your magic skills pretty easily in besieged - just spam bio for dark, dia for enfeeb, and some elementalal spell for elemental skillups.

it's too late on seraph. i get camped upon oftenly. but oh well, skie didnt mean to do this, he was just trying to help out his fellow BLMs. no need to delete it, guess I'll just have to be patient.

Well, not to sound bratty(but it probably will, sorry) but I think it's sort of common knowledge by now to most people that SMN and BST pets= mushy & great exp ^^ The OP just put it all together for us cause he wanted to help his fellow players out. If people hadn't made threads and posted feedback on the BST forums my experience taking BST to 75 definetely wouldn't have been as enjoyable and would have felt more like "work" in a sense.

I've been soloing my BLM since 40 on Demon Eles in CZB and Xarc, while I haven't seen any yet, I have no doubt that when I get higher up they'll be competition, but I'm used to that with my BST. I always check the entire area before heading to camp after doing a /sea all of BLM near my level. It never hurts to throw out some tells either rather than waste your time,sneakoils,ect :)


When I dinged 44 I was ready to head to Cape Terrigan so I did a search and there were some low level SMNs there in a PT and one of them had {Goblin}{Pets} in their /seacom so I actually found a new camp for 44+ because I was really anxious to get going.
I've been Killing Tonberry Elementals in PsoXja in the uncapped area. They conned VT-IT to me at 44 and I've gotten 3 lvls there so far. The camp's right by the zone(from G-9 in the Glacier) and there's only two mobs, a Cryptonberry Harrier and Stalker. The zone makes things safer but can be a nuisance if people keep zoning Tonberries as you'll have downtime waiting for repops. People also kill these guys for keys, though I only ran into both of these problems the first night I was there. The past few days I've been exping there undisturbed :)

I'm guessing the exp will start to die down around 48/49ish but I'll keep you posted if anybody's interested ^^;

I've soloed 51-63 so far, and never had a conflict with camps. Once or twice I've used /sea ahead of time and see someone using it, but most of the time my desired camp is empty. Invites have been miserable, so it's either this or don't level. I think most people who do endgame activities have seen something called off for lack of BLM at one time or another, so this is very helpful info if it increases the general BLM75 population.

After checking prices on Quake, about 50k more than I have, my other question is can Freeze still work? With AF Gloves, Ice Staff (Elemental +15 AND 10% damage boost), plus Ice/Double Ice weather, can I still one-shot pets in Pso'xja? Approximately how much HP do they have?

When i went at 54 i found that i would be just short of 1 shotting the mobs w/ both freeze and quake (freeze hit for around 880 and quake would hit for around 880). so this caused me to die more frequently. at 55 i went back to jueno to gear up. mainly trading astral and ether rings for int rings. and picked up the all important earth staff. even after adding my int rings and w/ ice staff already. freeze would hit for around 890-900(which is still short of 1 shot). but quake w/ rings and earth staff hits for 950-960. which is slight overkill(which i am now 57 and have only been resisted once). and i had af gloves on at 54. so i would say that quake w/ earth staff is the best way to go, it will save you some deaths.

rarely would freeze one shot the bats. every once in a while during double ice weather it would land for 1k.

If you have a duo for Goblin Headman, there's another camp that's east of the coffer. When the path splits, take the north road and stop at the first circle gate. You need to rest almost exactly on the red paint to avoid Headman to the east and Marksman to the west, but your prize is two bats within pulling range for unbelievable exp as long as your MP keeps up.

BLM soloing is always very shakey. We teeter on hoping that we don't get hit, or if we are hit, that our Blink/Stoneskin can hold up long enough that we don't get our casting interrupted. To be honest I don't think its your damage that cost you your death. I never really soloed at the Pso'Xja camps but if its anything like the more risky ones I take every day it has to do almost solely with resists (Full-grown Wamoura and the Dahak don't like eating my gravities and nukes). On a bad day? I'll spend 2-3 RR charges then give up and go back to puddings / princes. On a good day though I'll plow through at 7-8k an hour soloing. It all depends on whether you are fortunate to get in a groove and kill monsters without much thought.

Check day of the week too. For me, I found this camp unusable during Windsay because my Quake damage would fall just short of killing about half the time, which is usually = death because the Quake cast time gives the goblin a chance to move into an unpredictable position. At 56 you can switch to Burst (except on Earthsday). I had Terra's Staff and Moldavite too.

Remember that mobs spawn in a range of 3-4 levels, even pets. If your spell damage, free of resists and day/weather penalties, is not quite enough to kill the highest level ones, then you should change to a 2- or 3-shot strategy using Grav, Bind, Utsusemi, Sleep, etc. where applicable. At least that way you can pull the pet with a faster spell and avoid gob links.

Normally the camps listed here, I see and hear stories of people getting between 4-6k an hour which isn't bad for low level soloing. Higher levels, it all becomes an equation of "e-peen directly correlates to increases in exp/hour". A regularly equipped BLM at 75 might pull in 4-6k per hour while the highest of the high BLMs can easily score 8-9k per hour without ring (breaking 10k with said ring).

Its definately an alternative to PTing if you're not getting any invites.

Before 51 it is more or less your average exp party's exp/hour except you don't have to worry about other party members being idiots. That, offset by the deaths in solo and you getting used to each solo camp basically causes them to be equal.

After 51, however, due to AM and a dramatic increase in good gear, solo exp/hour tends to be far better. I was getting 7000-8000 exp/hour in the Pso'Xja camp at 54 and it only increased as I gained levels and shifted camps, and I had some very un-high-quality-gear.

{Hello!} i am having a lot of trouble with the Pso'Xja region. i have found the 60 cap entrance. after walking through a few stairs and hallways i get to a fork in the road and have to go either left or straight. this is very annoying, because i cannot find the goblin's jeweler and after i choose either left or right, the passageway that i chose closes up so that i cannot go back and rethink my decision. the first time i went, i thought i had chosen the wrong path and escaped out of Pso'Xja. bad idea. no map, no idea where i was warped back home. i finally have a map now, but i still cant find the camp inside of the Pso'Xja 60 cap zone. please help me

Been using this lately for BLU, works pretty well. We can't one shot the pets, so it's a little more work for us, but CA our best spell and then spam wut we got works well. Cocoon, utsusemi, and refueling are a must. I also like to cast headbutt between big damage spells to delay the mob from hitting me, and it's also pretty decent damage for the amount of mp it is.

I just tried this at level 51. It was working great until I accidentally hit a /ra <t> macro instead of my Freeze macro.

There are THREE camps in Gustav. One at the entrance to the area with the Goblin Shephards which attaches to the main tunnel. And at the two exits to the area.

At all three camps, there is a Goblin Shephard nearby whose leech you can Freeze. The leeches regenerate themselves in the time it takes to med back your 307 MP from casting Freeze.

Just make sure you set up your macros properly :)

Been using this guide to solo my BLM. I'm currently at 42 BLM (managed to get exp party to get to 42) but my major gripe is with the Castle Zvahl Baileys "camp".

I walk in there and I see absolutely ZERO, ZILCH, NADA Demon Warlock anywhere near the zone. The only place I can find one is in Xarcabard, near the Ulegurand Range zone. That place is decent due to the fact the zone is nearby, HOWEVER, the only way to really get to exp there is if the Demon Warlock spawns on the decline ramp that leads into Uleguerand Range. If the Demon Warlock spawns on the upper part above the zone, pulls are damn near impossible.

So where's the Demon Warlock supposed to be in Castle Zvahl Baileys? All I ever see are Pawns, Knights, and Wizards. No Warlocks and their pet elementals for me to nuke. >< Would it be a simple job of changing over to my BST and killing every Demon in the area and HOPING a Warlock spawns? Where is the Warlock supposed to be in the Castle Zvahl Baileys camp?

i finally found the pso place. it was very good xp. anyways, i am now level 60 =D. i tried to go to bibiki bay at 60, with elemental and dark at 215 and 203, but i had enfeebling magic at 113. i ended up dying about 7 times because my sleep spells kept getting resisted. after my reraise hairpin was used up, i decided to do a few skill up PTs to get enfeebling up. i got enfeebling up to 193 and have had no problem sleeping the rabbit. i just want to point out that without everything capped, this guide is rendered useless. ty for the guide, and i havent died yet(with enfeebling @193)! =D

I'll probably try the Newton bats as NIN67. I've had far too many horrid parties lately and getting 3k/hr solo beats the hell out of putting up with several idiots who seem intent on killing me and getting 1.5k-2k/hr. I still need the map from in there anyway.

They're single bat pets, right? cannotlinkto is super slow this morning for me for some reason.

Sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere, but are you guys getting to chain #5 from one BST mob? Do they really resummon their pets fast enough for chain #5? Or do I need to find camps with more than one BST mob.

I just saw a lv45 Black Mage soloing Tonberry's Elemental in Uggalepih. He was camping on the first map at the east (off map) zoneline, past the Flauros spawn, on the way to the Rogberry/Goblet/Decimation NM area. There's one Tonberry SMN near the zone, so it looked pretty safe.

I started soloing bst pets at level 26 in Yhoator and there I definitely remember only being able to hit chain 4 usually. Not sure what level I was able to consistently maintain chain 5 to be honest. It was before 50 and AMs though, since I was still getting chain 5 in Gustav on the rabbits there before I had Freeze and my Aquilo's (just making it 1000% easier hehe).
