Detailed Solo Guide - Lv. 19-70Follow

The terrigan rabbit pets worked for pup. The tunnel camp moreso than the outpost, the rabbit links kill very fast without sleep. LS mate soloed his nin in Zi'tah and Altepa as well. Not really sure how well it'd work, say past 50 though, if you don't have spike damage like blm or blu, as those pets do hit pretty hard. I might try the gobbie leeches in Gustav with my 52 pup soon, need to get around 8k exp to catch up with static.

This is correct, the blu physical spells will be resisted. I attacked one at the Yhoator Jungle Tonberry Camp while learning Light of Pennance as a lv. 58 BLU. My Bludgeon only hit the elemental for 93. This is assuming that all three hits connected of course. Didn't test this thourougly. My Poison Breath hit for 300+. I wouldn't say that there is much of a magical solution to this. There really aren't any "great" magical spells at these levels, also the mp cost is quite high so unless you are taru then you would have some mp troubles.

For you BLU out there that want to solo, I would say check out the BLU forums for a more natural blu area to solo at, or better yet, find a duo for those tough levels. Once you hit 44 this guide works wonders.

so far i've soloed 27-63 with this guide in about 2-3 weeks(not all at once mind you). resist rates can suck... best bet is to max out int and do your best to keep elemental/enfeebling magic capped. elemental is easy enough (use choke/rasp/drown/burn/shock/frost in xp) and ,if you need to, find a friend that will let some mobs beat on him and spam dia/diaga on mobs your lvl range or higher to cap enfeeb. i went /nin all the way to 60 and switch between /nin and /whm depending on which camp is open. up to 51, dual wield the best +int wands you can find and try to get use to things. pre-AM it takes 2-3 nukes to finish these off so plan acordingly.

There is a small problem now with Qirin Archaeologists, I don't know if its been covered or not. They will now run from you.. yes, run.. and grab the Mosstrooper or another Archaeologist in the area and come back to tag team you. My suggestion is to duo or be VERY careful. I have been told a stun will stop them from taking off, but you better be fast as they run fast..

All you have to do is pull them far away from each other...it's not really that hard to keep them from linking although it does happen some times. Once you've been down there for a while they will pop in order so there won't be anything for them to link to. Not sure what area you're fighting in that has Mosstroopers though, there's weren't any in that area (quoted above) when I levelled there.



I don't think more tanks are going to solve the TP only mentality.

FYI, lvls 45-50

Cape Teriggan is the best choice for these levels because rabbits don't get resisted as much as the elementals in Pso'Xja do, just watch out for the sight links with the Beach Bunnies.

Im having an awfully terrible and i mean TERRIBLE time of pulling the ele in Castle Zvhals without aggroing that stupid eye almost everytime, any tips besides having to zone the damn eye everytime then coming back for the pet pull?

Big thanks to the author of this guide. I doubt I would have lvled BLM to 75 without it.

I started to follow this guide around lvl 50. The best camp was in Bibiki Bay - very safe, even without one-shotting. You just need a bit patience sometimes.

I think it was said often already, but don't get discouraged if you die a few times. It's frustrating, but it's a risk worth taking. I remember dying 4 times in short succession in Newton Movalpolos - 4 resists in a short time, but still you get exp faster than you can imagine.

I had very few parties since lvl 50, and if it was always after hours of seeking. It's not really worth it. BLMs are not wanted in exp parties anymore.

Another positive note were the other players (not only BLMs, I've seen BLUS, PLDs, DRGs, MNKs, THFs, etc.) using these camps. Most had a comment up telling which camp they are using, so you get to know beforehand. And it never happened that somebody tried to take over my camp. I too, always asked {Time Remaining?} and waited till my forerunner left. I hope ppl will stay this way.

My suggestion after lvl 70 is just to go to Mount Zhayolm and exp on Wamoura Prince and later the Ebony Puddings. You will know the ppl around your lvl by that time so just invite them over to manaburn at these places. The more ppl the safer it is and it's a lot more fun after all the solo till that point.

Just wanted to add a huge {Thank You} to the praise for this guide. I just hit 75 BLM this morning and I did 40-72 pretty much straight from here and almost all of it solo.

@54 if I remember correctly, my resist rate wasn't floored even with HQ staff, but resists weren't a huge problem.

Elemental seal + sleepga works fine even on bats, then of course you log out. You can do that every 10 min, but if you're not /nin there's a good chance you will get interupted and die unless you keep stoneskin + blink up which is a pain, or just time it well. I did a manafont + elemental seal + sleepga macro for when my 2hr was up and I linked the gob+bat, and that saved me a few times. Otherwise I'd just try to time elemntal seal + sleepga but if I linked both I rarely got it off w/o manafont.

You definately shouldn't need much more than 1 reraise earrings during your 4 levels there. I think I went through 1.5 because of a few stupid deaths, going afk a lot so reraise wore a lot, and re-applying reraise while forgetting to remove the previous one... don't do that.

Hey BLM's. I'm having a little trouble with the higher Newton Movalpolos spot.(65 BlM)

I'm using Rdm sub pulling with Blizzard III > Gravity > Waterga III but there isn't enough space to run back and I usually get hit before Waterga III goes off.

I tried Flare and it brought them down to 9% so I can't one shot them...

Someone please fill me in if I'm missing something or /nin is the only way to go for these levels?

I'm in the Pso'Xja solo camp right now. I'm lvl 53 subbing whm. I have 67 base INT +24 from gear, including moldavite earring and Aquillo's staff. It's been double ice weather here since I got here and I'm hitting these bats for 953 each time. I've got 7k exp since I've been here and just had my first resist (let to me dying because no blink up). Just wanted to point out that you didn't need to be lvl 54 for this camp. ^^

Edit: Just changed to single ice weather and I'm hitting for 950 each time now.

Finding myself in Pso'xja around lvl 53, I still had freeze to my disposal. Very good gear, and HQ staffs, i was hitting the Goblins Bats here on freeze with dark weather for roughly 1125, ice weather for 1195, and double ice would be a strong 1212. now, i did get resisted occasionally to 999, to as low as 505, but the 505 happened once in 2 full level's of experience points.

Quake was never used, although i had it, don't even think of using Tornado, unless you really want to get resisted in ice weather. I abused freeze, for 8.5k an hour.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the following camp but when you're a blm and everyone else and their brother is already camping *Every other location* you try to improvise!

I found a second camp here on the same gobs that is safe to rest in and safe to die / reraise in if necessary. You can't always get to it though because of the gates :( But I'll try my best to explain:

Start from the previously mentioned camp (at D-11) and head East until you get to the first colored gates. If the blue gate is up - you can go no further. If the red gate is up however, awesome, head north. At the crosssection at F-10 turn right and head east. You'll want to head east until you no longer can (The road bends south at I-10). Once you reach I-11 going south, turn right and head West. At the end of this tunnel is your Goblin bat! And you can rest just outside the tunnel because the goblins inside won't come out and the BST gob you're fighting won't run towards the tunnel.

BTW- I used Burst at lv58 and it'd have anywhere from 1-12% HP left. After BURST I'd cast Blizzard2 while my utsusemi:ichi shadows were up to finish off the bats (since you really really can't sleep them without e.seal) I could also get away with simply meleeing it at 3% or less because staff skill is capped. whoo!

Just a post from my own experience, I solod BLM from 70-75, probably about 70-73 in sea fighting the Ul'Hpemdes (goldfish) and moving up to Om'Hpemdes. So long as you go BLM/RDM it's easy to level here, the mobs don't aggro to enfeebling (so long as it doesn't deal damage) so you tack on your usual Grav, Blind, Para, Slow then use a small nuke on them. from the point they are first damaged a timer is started in which it opens its "mouth". At this point they have 0 magic resistance and you can deal heave damage to it which will cause it to close its mouth again. Use Grav/Bind freely (try to bind over sleep since it won't open it's mouth while slept). Once you get to 73 you can probably stay there and fight the Om'Hpemdes (usually solo chain 2s and 3s) and if you get used to the process you can move on to soloing the Om'Phuabos (sharks). Alternatively you can go to Mount Zhaolym and solo off of the Flan that many BLMs merit off of. (will be hard without capped enfeebling magic at that lvl) Capping enfeebling is easy though if you have sea since like I said the Hpemdes don't aggro to enfeebling you can simply sit there and spam enfeebles till you're capped.

54 – 58 West Sarutabaruta [S]
(I’m not quite sure the lv cap on this but I came at 54 and managed to do well with the spell set I had of the 3 AM to combat the different types of elementals that could be summoned. As a 55 I’m still able to get 300xp chains so suspect it as being a good alt camp to the other 54-58 zone. Please note I used /rdm, HQ staves for the AMs I am using, blm AF hands, and moldavite earring for this run.)

Prey: Yagudo’s Elemental (Yagudo Mendicant)
HP of Prey: ~889-946
Note: Fastest way to get to this is OP or exit Port Windy then to go through the Saru Maw and head to G-6. Yags can summon a fire, earth, or wind spirit. Quake works well on fire, Tornado on Earth, and Freeze on wind. Sometimes a sliver of hp might be left after and a quick Drain can kill it before the Yag notices. If things should go wrong, there are Pixies nearby for RIII and cures.

Camp Location(s): Several Yags in the area of F-6/F-7 that can be used, but ones closer to the pixie pops in G-6 are preferred.
Camps : Yags are locked into a fixed wandering area and there are normally no wandering mobs to worry about, pick a place that makes it easy to watch the prey for repop and you feel safe in.

PROS:
- You will normally one shot a pet. If not the sliver of hp left can be quickly drained (/rdm).
- You are close to a town area if you need to restock or HP in.
- Yag roam in areas small so they won’t wander out of casting range mid cast.
- Sigil has a refresh effect available for 50 credits.
- If something goes wrong you can fall back to Pixies near by give that R3 and cure!

CONS:
-When Campaign goes on mobs horde right through camp. They don’t attack you unless you attack them but they do prevent the use of –ga spells. (Such as sleepga to removed wind elemental’s blink.
-These are elemental’s, they love to cast before following you out of camp increasing the chance of getting the master’s attention.
-You do have to have Wotg expansion, done missions up far enough to take advantage of Sigil in the area, plus of made your way to West Saru [S] at least once. A little bit of prep work is required to get to the camp, once done it is easy to return.
- Elementals do have AM as well, its easy to run out of range or sleep it before it goes off but if you are not paying attention it could really hurt. Air elementals can be annoying with blink, Earth eles more so with stoneskin.
- Sometimes someone does kill the Pixies near you depriving you of their magic support.


There are also some gobs with pets in this zone around H-8, but they where dc to me so might be fitting for a lower lv camp.

I as just at the camp in Attowah Chasm listed for levels 30-33, and I had some problems there. I've solo'd there before without anyissues, so I don't know if this was a ninja edit or if I just didn't notice before. Anyway, the mobs are lower level than I expected. I was there at level 32 and most of the mobs were dc or em. There were a couple mobs that were tough, but not many. I would say almost all the mobs were level 31-33 with maybe one level 34. This means that the camp is better suited for, say, 29-31 than for 30-33. It's not possible to get consistent chains at 32, too many of the mobs spawn dc.



On a different note, I saw a pet right outside of San d'Oria [S] the other day. I was on a 75 job so I couldn't say what level the pet is, but it wasn't an elemental like the previously listed [S] pet from the Windy side. This was a Goblin, so his pet was some sort of animal; I want to say it was a beetle, but I don't exactly recall. The master check ep to me at 75, so my guess is the master is low 60's, making the pet high-50's. If I have a chance I'll try to go out on a different job to check the level; the gob and pet were wandering near the tower along the northern border of West Ronfaure [S]. Sorry this is so vague, but I was just jogging through when I saw it, so I didn't have a chance to get any in depth information. But it looked promising, as there was nothing else in the area that would link or aggro.

I'm at the Pso'Xja Bat camp, and I'm casting Quake as a 55BLM/27RDM.

This adds up to 54+20 INT.

I hit with Quake for 946 most of the time, but sometimes I hit for 933 and the bat comes back to me with a sliver of HP, often pulling the goblin with him. It's not safe to 1-shot and when the gob comes I'm dead, end of story without Elemental Seal.

I'm having to wait until the Goblin is turned and the pet is behind him to attempt to cast Quake so he won't link the goblin. Is there some reason I can't reliably 1-shot at this level than any of you can see?

Am I getting resisted? Should I use Ice staff for casting Quake (That seems silly)?

Using my slower method, I'm not able to 1-shot everytime, but most of the time. I still stay safe and wait for him to turn around but I'm about to ding 56. I'm hoping Shaman's Cloak and some extra INT from hitting Level 56 will be enough I can 1-shot them reliably.

NinjaVani, try Melon Pies +1. The added INT might be just enough to make up for that sliver of health on those partial resists (or the 10% reduction on Windsday). I would also suggest Terra's staff, but that's not always easy to get for some people.

Haamyo, go back and read the sticky. You don't need to do promies to access Pso'xja - you only need to have the expansion installed and registered.
