Goblin's Bat (Goblin Foreman) - Newton Movalpolos
This camp is doable at 56, with burst/HQ staff/moldy earring and 84 or 85 INT.

Since the normal Newton camps were always taken (D-11, etc) I walked around and found a nice one that I doubt anyone would ever use.

Camp - I-7, right against the drop from the Mine Shaft #2716 exit

There is a Goblin Foreman and a Moblin Workman that wander together by there. If you can manage to reliably one shot the pets you can easily pull chain #4 here on a consistent basis. Sometimes the Moblin moves in a way that blocks you from casting but its rare enough that it shouldn't hurt exp too much. Also they never wander close enough to the edge so you can safely rest underneath the Gob NPC without worrying about aggro.

The downside is that if you get resisted you are dead if you can't land a sleep. It wasn't much of a problem for me, I died maybe 3-4 times from 58 to almost 61 (sitting at 500 tnl)

Truth be told I preferred this camp over the others I found.

This is some great info... Thanks alot!!! I am trying to solo my Blm and I am kind of new to the game so I come here a lot.. You have any tips or other sites to read up on. Especially one for spells - which one is good on what mob and if they are stackable. Some cancel out others.... Great work!!!

Hey, not sure if this camp has been mentioned or not, but I found a good alternative to the Zi'tah camp for 34-36 (which I tried, but had very poor luck with).

Go to J-10 in Oldton Movalpolos. There will be a bend here with a Goblin Tollman (BST) and Goblin Shovelman (RNG) (though I'm not sure if these can pop as other jobs). I liked this camp because there's lots of space on both sides of the bend to pull from. They conned T-VT at 34, so I'd assume this is good until 37 or so.

Some additional info I found while leveling SCH in the glacier:

LV 31-34
Gigas's Tiger (Rime Gigas) - Beaucedine Glacier (already mentioned by OP)

Tundra Tigers do not link with Gigas's Tiger. There's a great camp by the Mirror Pond at J-7 (near Fei'yin): only two Gigas spawn near the lake and they can both be converted into BSTs; both tunnels leading to the lake are perfectly safe to rest in between pulls. hope this helps :P

i lvled from 53 to 57 in pso'xja and i got great xp and almost always 1 shoted the mobs. i had on good gear (i believe) and only died like 4 times. the key part with this camp (which is the most popular cause its when pts slow down) is to log off there and log on when there no one there. a lot of times i would log on and there would be ppl there and we would duo for added safety and a little xp loss. i had aquilos staff (used freeze) morion tathlum, mnd strap, moldy earring, cunning earring, reverend sash, mohbwa scarf +1, cobra unit coat/ seer's tunic (for healing), mage's robe, red cape +1, +3 rings, seer's slacks, wizard's gloves/ seers gloves +1, wizard's feet or seer's boots, and melon pies. the bat almost always was one shotted and because i had +26 int and im a taru with hands i was rarely resisted. then i went to the newton movalpolis or w/e its called and got 5 deaths and a delevel.... does anyone know of a better place to pt at these levels, im sorry if this was already covered. at 73 duoing ebony puddings is just magically delicious xp!!! and solo meriting is awesome on puddings

I'm level 55 right now doing the Pso'ja part of the guide.

I was having a LOT of trouble because I wasn't prepared. Using quake, a earth staff is a must and use melon pies! Before, I was using an ice staff and no food, trying to skimp out, and it would take two spells. Now I can one shot bats.

And do a search before you go to the area for people doing the same thing. Even non-blms are using this guide now.

I haven't read every page of this post, so I don't know if it's listed in a reply somewhere, but I didn't see it in the original guide.

I have used Oldton Movopolis (J-10) to solo both Rdm & Blm in the mid 30s. I was there last night on Blm from level 35-37 (stayed for a buffer for 37). When I arrived, the Goblin's pet Bat were all T. At 37, it's possible you would start getting some EM mixed in, and it would be time to move on. But you could most likely start here earlier than 35 as well.

At 35+ I could 3 hit the bats with Aero2, Stone2 or Thunder, and Water2 (probably overkill by then, but did it anyway).

There are 2 goblins here, a Tollman (with pet), and a Shovelman. They follow a radius path. The platform side is a good place to camp (best in my opinion), and you don't have to move much when pulling or killing the bat. However, the gobs sometimes wander close by, so you'll need invis ready (or always on between pulls to be absolutely sure). If you pass the gobs to the other side, there is a tunnel mouth there. If you stay right on the inside edge of the tunnel, you will be out of the gobs natural aggro range. However, you have to watch for bats behind you, and you will also have to run a little bit when pulling.

This camp requires patience! I can't stress that enough. There are times when you may feel like you are waiting forever for the next pull. However, in my time last night, I also hit chain 4 on several occasions. I averaged about 4k/hour xp here over 2 hours, with 1 charge used of an Emperor Band at the start.

Also, a warning to others. I first headed to the Zi'Tah camp, as the OP was under my control, and would give me some added pluses for being right there at camp, like free HP, or not even changing my HP, as I could cheaply just hit the OP warp again. I arrived, and there was a level 30 party there, camping the pets for XP.

As much as I have loved this guide, it has become so commonplace for everyone, and people realize how good the xp is for easy kills, they have started to use these camps for ALL xp now, even parties. Your solo camps are not safe.

I'm 58 doing Newton Movalpolos in the guide and have some advice:

In my opinion, 58 is just a little too low for Newton unless you have really good gear. I'm at 60+20 INT with food (hume) and I one shot bats about 80% of the time.

1. Any sort of reraise item is a must. Earring, medicine,etc...because you WILL die.
2. Blink/Stoneskin or utsusemi is a must. If you get lazy and forget to have it on, you will die if you get a resist.
3. Make a stun macro for resists and if the gob gives chase. Immediately stun the gob and if you can cast Aero on the bat if its at 1%. This should kill it and then zone. If the bat has 50% HP and gob is chasing, play it safe and just zone. 99% of the time if you don't stun the goblin, you will die because the zone is quite a long run away.

Umm ok, all i have to say is, I started using this guide at about 50.
I'm an elvaan blm so i dont have the greatest int.
I go to gustav tunnel, gotten to 54 and now, I am getting resisted and sometimes not fully killing the leeches.
They check Even Match and some DC to me, but sometimes there's just that 1% left from tornado.

Here's what makes me wonder if i can solo after this:
51+20 INT
Wind Staff
+10 Magic Atk. Bonus
Elemental Magic Skill 184+15
No merits

....This is my first job to get past 50, and i'm just scared if i will even be able to solo anymore after this.

EDIT: The reason WHY i dont use Quake+Earth staff, is because i wont be able to chain the leeches (lolblmelvaan mp >.>;) so if i did do that, it'd be WAY less exp.

I'd advise using Freeze on leeches, get yourself an Ice/Aqulllo's staff and you shouldn't get resisted so much.

I am currently following the guide, just got to 57 in Pso'Xja but Quake didn't work for me however with Freeze I'm one-shotting the bat everytime... This could be because I'm Taru but I think an Ice/Aquillo's + Freeze would help with your resist rates.

My current INT is 71+31 (with food)!

Up-and-coming BLM here, just posting a camp I recently found. The level range may be off by one or two, since I was actually duoing here with a RDM starting at 47.

Location: East Ronfaure [S] @ the South-East corner of (I-6)
Level Range: 49-52
Enemy: Goblin's Ladybug (52-54) (Master: Goblin Patrolman)

Pros
- Camp is perfectly safe if you rest on the West side of the rock formation. Kite area to the South-West is also agro-free (only low-level Sheep and Bats around)

- Goblin Patrolman is usually the only Goblin in the area (he hangs out just to the East of camp)

- Ladybugs are weak to Ice, so when you get Freeze at 50, they drop like a bag of bricks

- Close to San'Doria [S] for Sanction refresh / XP Band recharge / HP set

Cons
- Only one Goblin Patrolman in this camp.

- There are two Goblin Skirmishers that will occasionally wander near the Patrolman. They are very easy to avoid if you hang tight to the rock formation you're using as camp. Generally they stay out of the picture.

- The Goblin Patrolman has a pretty wide wandering radius, which can lead to some interesting pathing / pulling.

Ok. I'm an old school player. I quit right before the Treasure of Aht Urghan came out. I was a BLM/RDM and I loved it. I'm looking into getting back into the game as a blm and I'm seeing all this about blms having to solo everything.
Anyone mind to describe to me what happened in the meantime?

I was wondering if anyone has tried a Burn Pt in Bhaflau Thickets @ (F/G-6) to kill Mamool Ja's Wyvern (lvl 76-78). There are 4 pets in this area and it spawns usually very quick. I was thinking a lvl 65+ burn pt could work here. Any comments? Also Vunkerl Inlet [S] has a great burn pt lvl 61+ location @ E-12 killing Giga's Tiger (lvl 73-75). Good place to solo @ 68+

I can confirm Miffee's camp, it is quite and and a good alternative to Gustav tunnel, real easy to get to, a pixie flys through fairly often, biggest con so far is the goblin moves nonstop for quite a time, but still stops long enough to cast Freeze.

I have 64+18 int (taru) and at lvl 50 and have to do Freeze + Thunder I. Easy camp very little chance of aggro and just got chain 4, tryin to see if i can manage a 5

Edit**

Just turned fires day, got two resists in a row, which lead to a Thunder + Drain to kill the first one and a + Bio as well for the second one. So id bump it up to a Tier II if you get a resist. Bio kill left me at 69 hp.
Also this is without any food or a Moldavite Earring. So you could easily one shot these with appropriate Black mage soloing techniques

Edited, Jan 14th 2009 2:56pm by ImmolatusX

Just went again with +25 int and one shotted the T lady bug for 762 damage. Still w/o moldy.

Also directly to the north of this camp is another Goblin and Lady bug pet, wide open pulling area for it as well.

Anyone know of an alternate camp to do around 33,34-36 besides having to go to Zi'tah. I remember that place from my BST solo days and it was **** then, so I know it will be **** for a squishy BLM to try and survive there. >.<;

The camp at the Glacier is working great so far for me (except for the elementals always hovering around the lake), I converted the 2 Gigas there to BST's and also the lone Gigas with the 2 tigers also to a BST. Had a few deaths from pet tigers taking wide paths and the Gigas linking but other than that it has been a GREAT camp.

I will hit 34 there when I get off from work today but I am not looking forward at all to having to go to Zi'tah. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Got to 39 and tried the Tonberry SMN camp and it absolutely sucked. Elementals resisted every spell I tossed at them. My skill is capped and I have the INT stacked to the max at every slot I can put it on (except for +2 more INT I could add from having Morions+1's) and my magic still does squat against them, lol.

Ended up going back to the Xarcabard gigas camp to try and get to 40. A lot of DC pets tossed in the mix is really slowing down me getting my 40. I noticed that the next camp is also an Elemental camp (Castle Zvhal). Is there any other alternate camp for around 40-43 at all?

Really, really, REALLY not looking forward to having to do elementals again if they are going to keep resisting all my spells causing me to completely drain my mana pool.

Any help with an alternate camp would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks! ^_^

Ugh, still stuck at 40. Have tried sticking around Xarcabard to get to 40 but the exp is omgdreadfully slow and I end up getting killed trying to speed up the exp.

Moved back to the jungle camp to hunt elementals and its just as painfully slow but, so far without the deaths. I only need to get to 43ish on BLM and I am really not wanting to have to step foot inside the Castle Keep at all.

If anyone knows an alternate camp for 40-43ish roughly, please HELP A BROTHA OUT!

Well, tried the Castle Keep camp yesterday and I must say it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Bastok had control of the region so I used the Republic head piece for MAB+5 which seemed to help a lot with the elemetals resisting.

The Morbid Eye was the BIGGEST pain at that camp. It almost constantly was facing me when trying to make pulls for chains so I ended up only getting a chain 3 at the most. I ended up zoning that dumb mob about 10 times, lol.

Had a few times when I casted too late and the demon turned around and came in pursuit after me with his elemental. The zone, luckily, is very close and I didn't die one single time from 41-43. ^_^
