Finally SE has listened to us BLM's and given us what we have been clamouring for.
Occult Acumen BLM Lv.85 Grants bonus TP when dealing damage with elemental or dark magic.

The need to stop switching staffs happened when? I hate to be a debby downer, but unless you're now spamming Waterja or Stoneja for the enhanced damage, we're still gonna lose any TP accumulated.

Also, occult acumen is sh*t anyways. I'm pretty sure drks get more than one tier of it (which blm probably won't) and even after the improvements this update stone 3 doesn't give more than 7 tp.
The reason I say I think drks get multiple tiers is because schs at 78 were reporting even less tp than drks w/ tier 2/3 when the schs were using tier 4. (and, as best I can tell, the tp gain is based on cast time (Maaaaybe mp cost, but I doubt that, because then I'm pretty sure Drain 2's return would suck a bit less(2 tp)). Gogo AM spam for tp? lol)

Keep in mind that by doing this you are not resting between nukes and not swaping back to earth staff after nuking. That means what? 5-6 Thunder IVs in a MP pools? Even if we consider 6, convert 6 more. You will need 100 tp in ~6 spells for the magic def down to be worth it.
On the other hand, melee BLM ftw!

That's quite the assumption, and very incorrect. I tested when I logged back in, I was getting maybe 1-2 tp more than previously. You'll maybe find yourself with 30 tp before you have to rest, if you're not switching staves at all.
Just giving my obligatory {/slap} to anyone delirious enough to think Occult Acumen will ever be worth anything to anyone. Until SE fixes it to give at least as much tp as ranged attacks, there's really no reason to even think about it.
My post was made largely in jest. The assumption was merely speculative given the "boost" reported in the patch notes and was, evidently, "deliriously" optimistic. So, as Occult Acumen stands now, it does not give anywhere near enough TP to pursue alternative play options.

This thread is about as useful as Occult Acumen. Though I have more hope for Occult Acumen to improve over time than I do for this thread.
