Not really big accomplishments, but:

Duo'd Impulse Drive NM with my gf. Wasn't too hard (the 2nd time), but we wiped quick on the first one when I ate a screwdriver for 789 damage while trying to drop into 50% for healing breath <_<;

While trying to get a ToD for charby, I figured I'd try to pop Zuug the Shoreleaper and see if I could solo it (PLD/NIN). Despite only being a lvl 70 NM it was a pain in the *** fight. Early in the fight a water ele popped (oh joy) so I had to run off somewhere to avoid magic agro. Things went fairly smoothly, but at around 30% or so I got the dreaded "Corleonis lacks the ninja tools to cast utsusemi", so that didn't help matters any. I ended up winning with 31 HP and 26 MP. Close fight, so I felt pretty **** good about it after.

But speaking of charby, I've gottn more ToDs and camped it more times than I care to think about, and everytime something goes wrong. NIN DCs, BRD can't make it, mage pulls hate from the start and we wipe. Buuuut:

I've killed it with a WHM as PLD/RDM before, as well. He is probably soloable with top of the line gear and a ton of meds, as I had told the WHM to support me as minimally as possible. Would be tough, though- the Cross-Attacks add up.

Is it really duoable with PLD/RDM and a mage? If so it's something I deffinately will try. My friend has BRD and soon to be 75 RDM, and he has his already and has been helping me camp. If we can duo it would make it a lot easier as we won't need to rely on others. I don't care if I have to dish out a lot of gil for meds either. Anyone know a good strat for this?

Done this with a RDM a few times.

Just load on shield skill gear, use a Bibiki shell for the **** of it. Keep Phalanx, Stoneskin, Protect, Shell, Enthunder, and Reprisal up. Have the RDM keep Bio, Para, Slow, Refresh, and Regen up. Pretty simple fight, nice and slow, but not too slow thanks to atonement. Don't worry about speed though, if you need to chivalry, do it and dont worry about trying to sneak in an extra atonement. Better to play conservatively and win rather than try to kill faster and wipe.

Charybdis can be killed duo quite easily. I have soloed it about 15 times for gil. Actually, I'm in SSG camping it right now.

Tips for success =
1. Find yourself a Joyeuse buyer for nice profit that will more than cover your cost of meds.
2. Turtle up and use Bibiki Seashell.
3. Bring a lot of Hi-Elixirs (at least 10 to be safe), 2 Pro-Ethers (for some reason the +1s tend to be the cheapest), 10 Yagudo Drinks (at least), 3 Persikos au Lait and eat a Tavnazian Taco.
4. Bring extra meds!!!
5. Have Atonement because this is going to be your main source of DMG.
6. Go /rdm, keep Phalanx up, keep Aquaveil up, keep BioII on Charybdis, and don't use Stoneskin because it will slow your TP gain.
7. Pull the 2 devil mantas in the area for extra TP gain (you should be turtled up to the point that they hit for 0 after phalanx. Otherwise, your probably over your head).
8. Hi-Elixirs take 10seconds to use so give yourself time to get them off.

Tanked a 19-man Odin last night, first time tanking him since I just played the part of backup tank and strategist previously.

He was fun to tank, easy but enjoyable.

I was in a linkshell event, where we were taking on the Ja-ja NM in Momook. LOL I ran in got agro from the NM and the spawns and the NM chased me. The LS members pulled the NM and began hacking away.

No My job was to keep the NM's distracted while they took down the NM. I was /blue I had over 980+ with bard spells included. I had to take hits for an hour lol. I believe that with them I could have maybe taken one down one by one.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say Gulool Ja Ja.. I'm assuming he did a mini-super tank strategy by getting hate then kiting the spawns (keep the NM's distracted) while his LS took down Gulool (while they took down the NM). He subbed /BLU and had over 980+ defense (and thinks it makes a difference) because of Minne helping to boost his defense. He took hits for about an hour and thinks it's hilarious. He also thinks he could have taken the adds out one by one had he been allowed to do so and had the help of his LS (probably meaning a support person or two).

Finished SAM sub, so I can finally finish off DRG. This will let me climb Nyzul Isle and get Atonement and some Askar. I'll also be able to finish off merits quicker than the occasional LS sync PT or when boredom drives me to Campagin for a bit of EXP.

Yay. Funny how this game works eh?

Our Omegas suck, period. We've gotten 4 bodies in 2 years, SEVERAL double-head kills, and very very few legs.

Tonight we finally got the coveted 2legs + Body drop, which got my friend Sactown legs, finished my friend Arximiro (5/5) and got me Homam Cosciales, I'm really psyched!

Finally, having my *** stick out in Aurum Legs (They look horrible with Ares's Body and everyone's picked on me about looking like a giant Elvaan stripper) :P

Hrm, it's been a while:

9/10 Group 2 PLD Merits.
Valor Gauntlets, Homam Cosciales, surprise Gothic Boots...
Atonement

I can't think of anything else at the moment other than those.

Sort of. I merit as PLD/NIN and feel like we're doing badly if parsing under ~19k/hour, and haven't had any problem at all climbing Nyzul as PLD. In fact, even if you hate meriting on PLD, you might find it a very nice Nyzul job, since it has good survivability, can dish out decent damage, and play different roles in a pinch. My gear isn't legendary and I'm a pretty new player. By all means, level DRG if you like it, but if all you're thinking about is improving your PLD, I highly doubt that that's the most efficient way (unless you really, really hate dealing with idiots. Idiots don't understand PLDs doing anything but full-timing full Koenig and being idiots themselves).

My DD gear is pretty decent. 14% haste, Organics(lol)/Joy, Hauby and so on. Does real well vs the EP and DC style Nyzul mobs. Not even approching a DNC damage wise, but I got a few O.O at some nice vorpals.

My survivability vs anything I spend my timers on to tank is far better than a SAM's for sure. I just have to pick and choose 3 - 4 nasty mobs per run. Anything else I have no chance of keeping hate on. This works, I agree. I don't slow a group down enough for it to matter.

The issue is my LS isn't supportive enough to take me 1 - 100 on PLD. I get to go to boss runs now and then. Then they ask me why I still dont have Atonement >.<. Pickups are a no go, period.

No biggie, DRG is great fun and it'll get me climbing.

As far as merits go- Ive been to Brids, MMJSP and Trolls on PLD. We made excellent EXP when we wern't at trolls lol. I was still just leeching. The quicker bit I was talking about was actually getting merit parties, not each party's exp/hour.

1,480 WS points later and I finally have Atonement!

My god's that took a lot of duo'ing/levelsyncing with friends. Managed to get 5 merits in my last two parties though one more Feint upgrade! oops, unrelated!

I can't wait to give this delicious WS a few trials, from what I've seen so far, I like it. Smiley: jawdrop

Tanked Achamoth on Weds night with a group of 6! It was a nail-biting fight, with 5/6 of us new to the fight. We actually wiped once, but in the end we won, and I'm very proud of our accomplishment. Party was:
PLD/NIN (me), RDM/WHM, BRD/WHM, THF/NIN (zoning adds), RNG/SAM, SCH/BLM

Sadly, I didn't get my Aurum sabatons to drop. :( Time to farm more zeni.

Augmented warwolf, and got... I'm not really sure Smiley: lol. Magic Evasion +3. Can I get a verdict on whether this beats the +2 MDB on the resolute belt? I'm thinking this is definitely better, at a minimum, good enough to not need to get a resolute, and at best a significant improvement over the MDB, with the base stats to boot. Thanks! Oh. Was off Eraser.
