since last updates, they updated whm, rdm and smn.

The new july update is coming soon, and we already see what they change to nin by adding new ability.

What job would u think SE be making change next?

could it be pld? or could it be another dd job? lets see hows your thought on this.

if it is pld, what kind of changes you like to see on pld as job updates.

They're not going to change paladin any further because we've already been buffed to the point of near over-poweredness.

Look at what we have....we have a way to avoid spell interruptions and reduce damage up to 65% of the time, while having access to enough hate abilities and spells to cap hate within 5 minutes without subjob use at all. Then on top of this, we have access to a ridiculous amount of refresh from gear/traits (more than rdm or any other job), access to some of the best DD gear in the game, A+ weapon and shield skill, and access to one of the best weaponskills in the game for the majority of fights because of its damage AND consistency plus an easy as **** to obtain multi-hit weapon to abuse it with.

We may get some tiny little goodies in the form of gear, but don't expect any paladin changes anytime soon. Theres other jobs in far more need.

^ this.

Ninja has been crying out for something for years. They need it. Other jobs - pup, smn, blm especially - are really hurting too. Whereas pld is one of the strongest jobs in the game right now, and needs - or wants - absolutely nothing.

As such, I half expect SE to give pld and samurai further toys, while neglecting others.

well u never know, sometime SE would make changes of job that they think overpower into less power with different ability.

for example, nin and rng is the case.

back in the old days, rng can melee while shooting without reduces any range damage.

But now they can't they have to find hot spot.

nin use to be the most popular tank at end game, because of the nature of blink tank, but SE nerf them, and make some move cannot be absolute by shadow.

nin use to be able to absolute ga or any tp move or anything really with 1 shadow, but since se nerf them, which make them hard to tank, espeically with ga.

We are getting the IR body and a new 300 style helmet if you choose it. That's the update for PLD this time around. Jobs like PLD and SAM are borderline broken at the moment. Gear is all you can look forward to for the time being.

No DRG for party, camp spot site with 30 dmg, but is it for 20 like 30 dmg when you no hit be it for dd, for 30 dmg instead? or half is 10 for 20 dmg?

I felt Paladin updates were good when they introduced shield mastery and refresh. Not that you saw me complaining when they continued to add more things to further ensure its popularity and effectiveness, but I would have been content with just those two additions. Anything more to Paladin and I think it *would* be overpowered.

But, for the sake of conversation, if they were to give Paladin something else, I'd want provoke for Paladin and Ninja, because I think that's long overdue anyway. Not like either need it now, really, but I still want it.

Personally I've always wanted Reraise 1 at 75 just because.

But as long as we're talking about how overpowered PLD is, why not make it extremely broken?!

-Let's give it Provoke
-The ability to dual-wield shields
-The ability to use a shield with a Great Sword on
-En-rage an enspell that provokes with each hit
-Reflect which bounces spells up to 1.5x damage AND gives you the hate for it
-Fix VIT and DEF so circa 2004 paladins can be effective.

Happy now?!?!

Reraise and the ability to dual wield (not just paladin, but everyone with no -delay and no extra hit in weapon skills) should both be available to paladin.

Guess what... Paladin is getting an update! Gogo Holy Circle.

Gives us a native offensive JA, and Ill be happy. With a job that works so well with /nin being subbed I dont see why we need more defensive updates. SE did right by giving us a tool to cause more damage through enmity(atonement) Im still an advocator of seeing more things like this for pld, ppl want things like provoke for pld, and things like that, but honestly, provoke is over rated, Id rather produce hate through more damage, and be able to kill the mob faster, rather than generate hate with an ability that decays almost as soon as the timer is back up.

I dont think id be asking for too much, considering that a lot of jobs have been updated to have both defensive and offensive JAs, WAR, SAM, DRK just to name a few. Probably wont see it, but if I had to ask for something it be that, its not needed, but something we wouldnt complain on having. I agree with the conserve mp thing aswell...

And yes, there are other jobs that should be updated, before we get another update.

Yea... drk has no defensive JAs unless you mean Last Resort is a defensive ability because it causes the mob to die before you take more damage.

Dread spikes, ya not JA, but its a defensive update given to them. And before you say drks cant survive anything, Ive seen drks tank sky mobs, fafnir, Tiamat and other HNMs. They can do just fine under the proper support, much like any job.

Why should a job designed to tank - not to be a DD - be given an offensive JA? Makes no sense. And frankly, any pld still seriously wanting an update is like the fat kid at the fair crying "mommy, I want more!!!!" while the family of pups, blms, and smns sit in the dirt going "wow, if we pool our money we can get into the shelter tonight! awesome".

You may counter-argue about DD jobs getting damage mitigation tools, but they're nowhere near as powerful as anything pld gets.

Why does given it a defensive/enmity update make anymore sense? Learn to read. Pld doesnt need any update, but if it got one(b/c its SE you know), Id hope it be a useful one or something that pld really lacks in, like something offensive. It doesnt need it, nor any update for that matter, be honestly why **** would you not want something useful if it was on the list for an update. After all it is SE, and SE tends to favor its favorite jobs in updates more often than not.

I brought up the defensive updates to DDs because honestly, war having access to /nin and /sam had enough defense that it didnt need a CS type of update, SAM some what powerful, didnt need the boosts it got. I will say that it could use the updates, but not so close together, spreading it out, and giving other jobs updates would of been nicer, but no, update after update it was SAM. So while ppl speculate about what is going to be updated and for which jobs. My personal opinion is, if they update pld, let it be something other than a defensive trait/spell/JA because it doesnt need one, nor an update. Hope that was crystal clear that time around . . .

And I know all too well about jobs needing updates, Im a blm afterall, and a monk, but well SE made monk so perfect any update it would give it would be either fail(hi2u Footwork) or entirely broken probably (wtfpwning HNMs)

Theres nothing the class NEEDS these days, but if Square Enix INSISTED on giving us something... >.>; ...giving us repose and/or reraise wouldn't actually increase our power the way some defense/offense ability would, but would be really nice to have... and I certainly wouldn't complain if we got Esuna... it... fits PLD, I think, what with it being a self-target only move typically needed on the front lines. Oh, and counter! ...and cura too! >.>;

They already gave us Atonement for offense. Get enough acc and damage to hit that endgame boss and you become the tank, the dd, and the healer. Honestly, I feel pretty flippin' awesome all around.

I did like how they never addressed the VIT formula though.

Paladins: Fix Vit so we can tank right!

SE: How about we just turn your shield into a TP getting, lazer shooting, damage blocking, casting protecting, 5 minute stun weilding force of god AND let you harness the holy powers of Altana every 100 TP to utterly smite your enemies no matter what level they are?

Paladins: Oh.... Or that's fine too.
