I was wondering if Iron Ram Hauberk is that much better than ACP body, or I could get other things like Patronus Ring or Rose Strap for SAM.

Assuming you have Enmity and Fast Cast on your Neuvo, Iron Ram Hauberk will only outperform Neuvo for JAs and if your Flash recast is completely capped without the Neuvo, otherwise Neuvo wins for Flash, and obviously it's the best current Ni/Ichi piece.

It's a great piece for a MDB build, especially considering that the alternatives are Avalon (Horribly overpriced on my server) and Coral+1 (1m or so on my server), whereas Iron Ram Hauberk is free and competitive. (How competitive depends on your current level of -MDT without a body piece).

So its safe to say the IRH isnt a must have unless in instances where Magic Def is needed?

NQ Coral Scalemail is a cheap, servicable body piece for Magic Damage reduction. Unless you can cap your MDR without a body piece, the Coral should be on par with IR Hauberk. If you CAN cap your MDR without a body piece, then the IR body becomes more attractive.

If you already have +5 Enmity on an ACP body, then IR won't be much of an upgrade in the enmity department.

I don't have an ACP body for Pld, so I picked up my Iron Ram Hauberk as soon as I logged in after last update. Function x 2 + Fashion = Win!

I pretty much have to try and figure out if I can switch nations in the past, as things currently stand I'm allied with Windy (gear best fit my MNK) and I can see at least some, if not all, of the magic defense armor is really good for PLD...but good god some of that costs a LOT if you're from another nation. I think the body piece is something like 125k? YIKES.

You're missing the point of the IR berk.

That being that it's flipping BEAUTIFULL looking. Looks like the hydra haubert and is **** enough for me to get one for my windurstian DRK even at the AN penalty just to walk around in and feel sexy.

I tend not to wear gear solely for vanity purposes, as doing such in a lot of job setups will end me up wearing subpar gear. Take MNK for example. xD A lot of people refuse to wear the level 25 subligar because they're homophobic or something and don't like seeing men in underwear xD even though it's the best mnk leg piece for like 25 levels at the very least. ^^;

Functional AND it looks **** though? sweet.

Well yeah, never suffer utility for looks when the time to fight arrives. But for walking around gear...my DRK sure could use this piece lol

You can switch nations in the past very easily and without a penalty unless you change BACK to a nation where you've already had allegiance. So:

1. Get full rank in Windy.
2. Buy all the cobra gear you want
3. Do first Sandoria [S] WotG quest (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Steamed_Rams ), then talk to the same NPC to switch nations.
4. Get all the iron ram you want.

If it's important to you to be Windy allegiance you can switch back at this point but you'll lose 2 campaign ranks and some AN.

As a wise forum poster once said years ago. (Something to this effect).

The one or two extra damage you will do is not worth the emotional scar that you will inflict on your party, and all those passing by you.
