The thread in =10 has pretty much broken down into a RDM-based discussion. I wanted to get some thoughts on the example Paladin adjustments.

Example Adjustments
  • Adding a new ability that reduces the amount of damage taken by a party member for one hit.
  • Adding a new ability that slows enmity reduction.

The ability to reduce damage taken by a party member sounds like a one-shot Sentinel/Cover combo. If they do implement that one, it'll be interesting to see how it works. I'd probably go test it on something like Throat Stab or Everybody's Grudge.

The other ability sounds a lot like Guardian. I'm curious to see how it would stack or otherwise effect a Guardian-enhanced Sentinel.

Honestly, it sounds to me like they intend to focus on Cover-like abilities. Don't tank, just keep other people from getting hurt. Paying $15 a month to be someone else's Utsusemi: Zero isn't appealing in the least.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

Probably the quick solution to solving CE/VE issues.....

Instead of holding hate well just give you a JA to cover everyone...
