TES sounds more interesting now that I know they're trying to still keep the open aspect of the single player games.
TESO had me super excited until the reveal that factions are set in stone and races cannot intermingle. Ever. That just bummed me out completely. I have around 3-6 friends IRL who wanna play this game and I know for certain we don't all wanna be one of three races, but I don't wanna have to be in the situation where we all have to like, I don't know, vote to pick a specific faction that we all
want to play in because that will undoubtedly result in several people being dissapointed. Not to mention how sucky it is that you can only visit the rest of the world once you reach max level
and even then
it's an adjusted world built specifically for you and your fellow max-level faction buddies. No meeting the actual races that live there
. Nope. They're off in some other instance ... for some reason.
I just don't understand why a game that has traditionally been all about the multi-culturalness of the world has suddenly become a three-faction, PvP focused MMO. I would have been completely cool with it if these factions were optional, like, I don't know, Skyrim? Maybe encourage people to stay within their races prominent faction and make slight storyline changes if you play as an opposing race but straight up locking these factions apart? It saddens me.
Why can't MMO's just be new versions of FFXI? *humph* I miss 75-cap FFXI
