I'm 66, going to be fighting Maat once I get a test. And tell me if you think this set up would work?

I know RNG has the lowest evasion skill in the game, and my gear is based on Maat RNG having that same E Evasion skill as the rest of us.

Weapon:
Hands: Fransisca
Gun: Fourth Gun
Ammo: Silver Bullet

Gear:
Head: AF head
Neck: Ranger's necklace(PCC for barrage)
Earring: Drone x2
Body: Skikaree Aketon(AF for Barrage)
Hands: Akinji hands
Rings: Raja's/ Scorpion+1(two Scorpion+1 for Barrage)
Back: Amemet+1
Waist: RK belt
Legs: Akiniji legs
Feet: AF

Not sure what food to use yet...

But what do y'all think? Does that look like a winning set up?

Keep in mind the strategy and items are just as important as your gear. More important even.

Run in, use your food, sleep TP to 150%. At level 66, I'd also suggest a Blink Band usage.

Draw your weapon (Maat won't charge until you hit), activate Sharpshot and Barrage, fire slug shot, shadowbind, fire barrage, EES, Slug Shot, and if needed, use an Icarus Wing and shoot one final Slug shot. The last thing you ever want to do in this fight is to be waiting on a normal shot to fire, as this gives Maat too much time to hit you hard.

Don't trust in this. Also, don't trust that you will be facing a level 66 Maat.

Taking Maat on at level 66 is a crapshot. If this is your first job to break 70, then there is no reason to go right away. I can understand going at 66 if you're just after a Maat's Cap, though.

Yeah, I'm going for a Maat's. I'm going to get myself one for Christmas.

Whats a good food to use these days? I've been using the Pot-Au thing. Last time I checked, it was too new and nobody knew exactly what the +stats were.

I beat maat back in the day and this is what I used

head: RNG af
Body: Rng af
Neck: Rng necklace
Hands: Rng af
Earings Drone x2
Finger: Scorp +1
Waist: RK +2
Legs: rng af
feet: rng af

Hands: Franny and Hawker's+1 i think
weapon: Musketeer Gun +2 and silver bullets

used blink band
slept tp to 125~%
food was squid sushi
icarus wing

This was my start and it worked for me
locked on from about 10' or so out
engaged
readied Sharpshot and Barrage
Sidewinder
barrage
shadowbind if not all arrows hit on barrage/ didn't bind if that landed
sidewinder
Iwing
Eagle eye shot

I got it in one try easy and fast

There are more gear options available now which works to your
benefit and you can make adjustments but high dmg is not your goal here
its speed and accuracy the faster you can launch your heavy hits the better
your chances of winning are.

You were doing Sidewinder with a gun? And you were able to offhand a second weapon?

Maaso you'll do just fine
just have your macro's set and do a practice on a T mob or two
if you can blow a lvl 60 or so rng gob up you'll kill maat
I did a few of those and had no probs what so ever

I do suggest going in with a gun setup bc tpreasons

fighting maat requires a bit of luck no matter how well gear oryour strategy works. case in point, me fighting maat as 68 war. went in did my thing so i went raging rush > raging rush and got a 16 damage fragmentation sc damage (-_ -; which afterwards he proceed to kill me.
