Can Snapshot gear be swapped out mid-shot and the effect remains? Much like mages swapping out fastcast after starting the spell?
Forgive me if this the answer is already common knowledge, but I don't have RNG leveled or follow RNG forums, and until recently I always meleed for TP on COR. SE has been throwing Snapshot gear at COR left and right lately. With gun delays being so high, I figured I could actually put the gear to some use if I can swap Store TP/damage gear after starting the shot.

I believe you can yes though you'll never be able to truly take full advantage of it like with normal haste gear due to the lack of auto-ranged attack.

It would also be problematic to macro due to rapidshot messing up any time based macros. If it is:
/equip snapshot gear
/ra <t>
/wait 1
/equip POWA gear
Then it would get pretty messed up every time rapid shot went off. Also, as said above it will never work as well as intended since there is always the forced delay between shots and human error. Not to mention you will blink like a Xmas tree and piss off your healers like no tomorrow :P
In theory it would improve your damage, but i cant imagine it being a significant boost between rapid shot, human error, and just 'waiting' to shoot in many cases due to hate and other factors that would prevent you from a constant bullet stream. For the most part, most rapid shot gear is well designed to TP in anyway.
I guess I just cant see it being worth the trouble, but I am far from a hardcore rng. I probably do some things on thf and drg that others dont think are 'worth the trouble' to do. /shrug.

A prominent RNG on Bismarck (Helel, who has an Annihilator) thinks so. He said something somewhere sometime about starting shots in Mirke, and finishing in an sTP body. I'm inclined to think he's got a reason to think that, and have no reason to think that Snapshot works differently than Fast Cast, so I'm on board.
@Banality, true the effect would be small, but with a windower keybind (below), it is easy enough to implement. I'm sure I've paid more (or put in more effort) to get less, and I haven't even spent too horribly much on RNG. Especially true since the 'price' of this is acquiring 2 distinct pieces of armor (which would happen eventually over a long enough time anyway) - a Snapshot/Rapid Shot piece to start, and an power piece to finish. Unfortunately, if you Rapid Shot, I'm not sure if the power/sTP gear would get counted, which could lead to some awkward TP levels.
Or maybe you could even do a rule with spellcast.
As to blinking - I'm sorry, but <stal>'s introduction feels like years ago. I would go as far as to openly ridicule anyone who complains. You know, if the initial enlightened discussion fails. /em polishes his gun...

It seems the general consensus is that it will still retain the effect if I swap gear mid-shot.Fortunately for me this isn't an issue at all, as Rapid Shot is virtually non-existent for CORs. Both RNG and COR get the JA, but it's blatantly obvious that either COR gets a much, much less proc rate by default or the proc rate decreases with weapon delay. Either way, I'm fairly sure that in 2+ years of playing Corsair, I could count on 2 hands how many times Rapid Shot has proc'ed for me, and I was probably /RNG at those times. 
I believe you are indeed correct. When any 'instant' ability kicks in, it's truly instant and leaves no time for mid-cast modifiers.It feels like years ago because it was years ago. I'm 90 WHM and RDM, and I couldn't agree with you more. It absolutely blows my mind how many healers complain about people blinking. If I'm spending hours to maximize my macros to do the most efficient damage possible, and to maximize my effectiveness for the party, the damn healer can take the one-time, 20 second investment to change their macros to <stal>.

Pretty much been figured out already, but yeah, it's much like spellcasting in that the time it takes is determined when the attack is started.
Except <stpt> and <stal> each have their own reasons that people may not want to use them, especially for a healer class, who doesn't always even get to be in the same alliance of whoever he's healing.
I still maintain the same stance I've had before their introduction -- if you find yourself getting killed and you start blinking like a madman for whatever reason, don't be surprised when you die.
