58-60: Uleguerand Range
Just a quick note as to another possible leveling spot in this rich BST EXP zone:
If you continue straight out from the tunnel after zoning in from Xarcabard and head down the incline, you will come into a vast area filled with Snolls (60-63), Variable Hares (58-61) and about 6 Buffalo (61-64). A cautious and alert BST can easily dart around the Buffalo (who seem incredibly near-sighted) and put Variable Hares against Snolls. You need never engage which leaves you free to watch for the Buffalo, Cwn Annwn (undead hound) and the single ice elemental that spawns in the back corner. Even at 58 our BST AF + Charm bonus is substantial enough to use T hares vs the Snolls for a very handsome EXP gain. Fairly regular chain 3's for 200+ and the occational chain 5 for 300+. Add in the snoll arms that drop fairly regularly and it's a one stop farm/xp shop. Things to watch for are the Buffalo, which I mentioned earlier are nearsighted as possible it seems, the 1-2 Cwn Annwn that spawn at the undead hours and if you /whm the Ice elemental.

I just hit 61 today and don't plan to stay here, but I imagine that you could still level here at 61 and boost your chains with the occational snoll.

Hope this gives BSTs another enjoyable option for a 58-60 camp.

MOBS TO FIGHT: Land Worms (20-25), Combats (27-30), Huge Spiders (28-31), Thread Leeches (28-31), Clippers (29-32), Greater Pugils (30-33)
NOTES: 29, Use Huge Spiders, Combats, Clippers, and Thread Leeches vs. the same mobs and Greater Pugils. Good camp is Pugil pools and spider room.

Maybe I went to a different room with Pugil pools and spiders next door, but this spot was much more detrimental than beneficial to me. 95% of the inhabitants (Clippers and Huge Spiders) conned as Tough at level 29, which left me resorting to jug pets and the very occasional Even Match as my only means of attack/defense. Even then, the Greater Pugils would tear through them pretty quickly, and with no other suitable targets around and my jug timer still counting down, I found myself in serious trouble quite often. I couldn't find any Combats or Thread Leeches in here or the tunnels leading to this room, so I was forced to return to the "main" tunnel region to get them. After about two hours of experimenting here, I ended up with a net gain of 56 EXP (after three deaths).

MOBS TO FIGHT: Combats (20-23), Carniverous Crawlers (22-25), Goblins [Furrier, Pathfinder, Smithy, Shaman] (31-34)
NOTES: 29, Camp near entrance from Buburimu Peninsula. Use Ancient Bats and Caterchipillars vs. Goblins.

I ran into some problems here as well - the goblins tore through the Ancient Bats like they were nothing, and there weren't enough Caterchipillars in the tunnel leading from the Buburimu exit to the goblin room...even after waiting for them to respawn, I would find two at the very most. Very slow EXP, but at least I didn't die here. :)

Since then I just decided to go back to the stalactite dew room in Ordelle's Caves and continue killing Goliath Beetles for 100-140 EXP a pop. I'll try Korroloka Tunnel again when I'm at a higher level.

EDIT: I decided to go back to the same area in Korroloka Tunnel after I hit 30, and boy, was I surprised. I had no problems achieving Chain 3s consistently for 400+ EXP at a time. I'd start with two EM Huge Spiders vs. a T Greater Pugil, and then proceed with EM spider vs. EM/T spider battles to keep the chain going as long as possible. Having access to Tame, Divine Seal, and better armor come level 30 helped substantially.

Also, that spider NM is no joke...I thought I would try my luck seeing as how I had a room full of EM/T spiders. Luckily I had no problems charming, but even then it took eight spider pets to knock its HP down to just above 50%. Finally, with no more spiders to charm and throw in its path of carnage, I summoned a jug pet to keep it occupied and logged out. :(

I suggest changing that to 42-47. I went there yesterday at 42 because I had enough dying in Yuhtunga doing the Soldier Crawler vs Gob thing in the open are in the West (although the exp is good if you can deal with the gob and bomb aggro once in a while). However, I have to say Zi'Tah is fabulous.

My advice, don't even bother with other pets, just use Gobbue Parasites. There are two of them in a little area just north and within visual distance of the outpost, convert them to EM's and that's all you'll ever need. They rip through T/VT Gobs, T Shrooms and Fly's like nobodies business. Just keep swapping between the two leeches.

The only issues with the area is it seems to be a popular place for people to level their NPC's. Just tell them to not touch your leeches and your golden. There are plenty of mobs in the area. Also be careful at night because the Lesser Gaylas aggro. Usually if there were any close to my camp, I'd just use them as starting pets and kill them off. The one good thing about it being a popular NPC level spot, is there is more likely to be someone close by that can Raise you if for some odd chance something bad happens. My whole level from 42-43 there, I only died once, but that was due to me thinking I was safe, going afk to get food quick, coming back to see some bats getting the final blow on me.

Having just come from here, I would like to add the following.

While fighting Birdtraps, I found that Spinous Pugil's ended up doing the best damage most of the time out of all charmable mobs. That being said, I was bias to just fighting against Birdtraps because I wanted to get Orctrap to pop. Now Orctrap being (38-40) could possible be killed by a BST31. I took it down 50% before I ran into a pack of Shriekers (death x_x). If one was patient then sure, easy fight. Carrie got slapped around, but a charmed Tough Tiger (Familiar'd) held it off for abit.

If anything is to be added (Spinous Pugil (29 - 31)) as charmable mobs.

I don't get this one. If the lowest pet levels are 58, why would we go here at 57? Am I missing something or is this incouraging us to charm mobs stronger than us? >_>

I dont make too many posts, but this is somewhat helpful for the higher level bsts. AT level 72 there's an area in Bibiki Bay where there were some newly added birds <Tragopan> ... Most check decent challenge or even match, few toughs. Dhamels in this area are VT. Now if you dont have sky, and you find that most everything in boyahda is tough, this is an ideal xp spot. It is much better in a duo, two birds and two bst's will tear through a VT dhamel. The only disadvantage to this area is the 65 range parties, but if u can isolate two birds, drag them away from the parties you'll find yourself getting chains for up over 250. Solo, holding pets, was getting chain 2 245. In duo chain's 3-4 for 218-250. Sky most birds were tough, by the time i converted to even match had parties moving in on me, killing birds, or some stiff competiton from 73+ bsts'. I really haven't explored boyhada too much at 72 because, i dont wanna deal with the uber defense of the steelshell. Dhamels in Bibiki will berserk, lowering defense, Rampage weapon skill hitting for 200+. Just wanted to throw that out there, for all you bst's that like to test the waters.

34-35, Camp near dock. Use Efts, Dhalmels or Rarabs vs. Efts, Dhalmels, Rarabs or Ravens.
36-37, Camp in tunnel at F-6. Use Efts vs. Ravens and Dhalmels.

First, let me say, I think this is an excellent guide -- I've seen a lot of new places so far as BST, and looking to finding even more leveling spots.

However, I think the Marine Dhalmels here are 34-37, not 33-37. I went here at 33 and died 4x in 1 hr (most death I've encountered as BST). I ended up dinging 34 at Qufim on leeches -- not super-fast exp, but at least it was positive.

I'm now back here at 34, and what a world of difference! I hit Chain #3 for the first time last night.

I would NOT recommend this to level 33 BST, but would to 34+.

I believe you are correct in that the level range for Marine Dhalmels starts at 34. After spending a few hours here as Level 33, I have not seen a single dhalmel con as Even Match; I watched as another BST (Lv38, I believe) used them as pets to dispatch Ravens, and I would periodically scan the respawns for an Even Match to see how it would do in battle...but to no avail.

I also agree that this area is not suited to a Lv33 BST. In my experience the Efts didn't seem to be any more susceptible to Charm/Tame than any other typical creature, and when coupled with the fact that there are such a large number of them in close proximity to each other, sometimes all it would take is a single mischarm to spell disaster. They hit hard and fast with their normal atacks, but their special attacks were not particularly dangerous. Additionally I found that they were more resistant to enfeebling magic than any other mob that I've faced to date...even when swapping in MND gear (+12 bonus) it was not uncommon for Paralyze and Slow to be resisted 2-3 times before I finally got them to stick.

As I learned with Korroloka, a single level can make a HUGE difference...so I'll try coming back here at 34.

EDIT: The Marine Dhalmel range definitely begins at 34; there were no "Even Match" Dhalmels when I was at 33, and there were no "Decent Challenge" Dhalmels when I trudged through 34. Please change that once you get a chance. :)

A note to other BSTs who are thinking of coming to Bibiki Bay to level: don't think that it'll be easy to grab mobs here. High-level passerbys often toy with Efts (before slaughtering them) as they wait for the manaclipper to come; others come to the area and kill every Eft in sight in hopes of stocking up on HQ Eft Skins. Very occasionally, someone will come to camp Intulo (the Eft NM), and so they'll go to town on the Efts in the area in order to hasten the NM's appearance. If you're lucky, you might get the area all to yourself for a short period of time...enjoy it while it lasts. :p

i was wondering how do i get to this spot. i did enjoyed bombs in gusen mines and garlaige citadel. the bombs in ifrit's cauldron seemed to be a bust mainly cuz you see a bomb, you see an opo-opo and nothing else. so you try to charm one and you fail again and again. i had seen this possiblity when looking for where you got a nifty bomb core or whatever the thing is with the +12 attack in the ammo slot, tryed to get here one through the jungle but it looked to just be a dead end. anyway any help would be wonderful. lately i've hated leveling bst solo but this might brighten my spirits and possibly make some cash while i'm at it.

This info is pulled from a thread I made earlier.

Behemoth's Dominion - Level 43-44
Pets: Lesser Gaylas (40-42), Greater Gaylas (42-44)
Prey: Lost Soul (45-47), Demonic Weapon (45-46)

Camp is the tunnel at I-9, using Bats from the room to the east and fighting Skellies and Weapons from the west room. There is nothing in the tunnel so there are no linkage problems from other mobs or AoE pet moves. My basic strategy was to charm a Bat and sic it on a Skelly, and heel back to the entrance of the Bat room. I would then swap with another Bat, sneak up, and then go back towards the middle of the tunnel and wait to release.

The best part about this place is that it is extremely safe, and Bats do very well against Skellies. This zone is also completely empty 22 hours a day, and even then its is only people waiting for Behemoth or KB to spawn. The bad part is that your pets aggro, but that can be avoided easily enough. I was only here for about an hour last night, but I got 1600 exp with no risk of dying.

Gobs = Extremely easy and fast exp (most of the time) I was having trouble in all the other areas listed but this spot is amazing and only supports 1 BST. There is 4 Goblin Poacher spawn points and you can run through the entire set fast and once you kill the last one, respawns are starting to pop back up.

Every once in a while a Lava Bomb would pop up but I would still throw a crawler or 2 at it to see if he will Self Explode for some easy exp. Actually got my first chain 5 because of the Lava Bomb + Self Destruct.

Also if you get in any danger the zone is very close by (but you probably won't make it safely away anyways :P)

Tried the E-9 camp but there was only 1 EM Worker Crawler, I would suggest waiting until 45 to go here. There was 4 Goblin Poachers and all but 1 were IT. But it is set up just like the first jungle so I am expecting another great round of exp when I get to 45. Also there is no Master Coeurls in the area to worry about.

This place is great. I recommend going here earlier than 47 though. I went at 46, and just converted at least two of the three leeches that are in the tunnel you camp in to EM and you are golden. You can probably pull it off at 45 even if you have luck getting EM pets. The Gobs are such easy exp, and if things get hairy, the zone is very close. Didn't die once here in 3 levels. I strictly fought Gobs with an occasional Cockatrice when I wiped out all the gobs.

Don't bother with Cockatrices until 47 though, they aren't worth the hassle with their Petrify move and they seem to have a ton of HP's and hit very hard. They are good however for converting leech pets since they can take one down pretty quickly. Once my pet died, I just zoned or grabbed another to sacrifice to it.

You may need to bring a Prism Powder to get to camp if you are impatient, because the tunnel camp is right after a small room with 3 gobs in it (which will be your primary exp mobs). I didn't bother since the gobs would always seem to move and turn their backs to the tunnel quite often. If for some reason you do get unwanted aggro, just turn around and zone since it's right there.

has anyone ever tried this camp? i headed there the other day at 66, and i must say, it looked good on paper.

first mob i pulled, moblin thf, moblin yardman. took about 5-6 swaps to kill. (i kept swapping in between the 2 bats, luckily they had the time to heal). got 112 xp or something like that... (i didnt want to leave my pet only to die from a critical triple attack + gobbie WS) then i pulled a bugbear, took 3 or so pet swaps. it was either EM or DC.

i then healed up, pulled another mob. goblin lenghtman, thinking it would be easy. (ranger type). pet attacks the goblin, goblin blm links, bam, casts bio III on pet. pet dies a few seconds later, and i'm left with only one pet. i charm it, put it on the goblin, and proceed to /logout. (the goblin also managed to hit me in the low 200s (critical -- with his DAGGER) before my pet got hate). i /logout just in time (pet had like 10% hp left) and come back a few minutes after only to find an IT goblin bashing on me. died.

so i ask... did the contributor ever even try that place? or was i doing something just utterly wrong? has anyone else had good xp here? kinda sad when i can farm EPs with CC for more xp/hr than here. and not risk my life on every fight.

Can be done at 50. Just convert the two Sahagin Parasites to EM at J-5 behind the Mythril Door. Camp in J-5, it's a little nook where Sahagins will not walk by (you could go AFK here too if you wanted and not worry about aggro). I would pull mobs back to my camp to avoid links and just cycled through the two leeches here as pets.

I advise using the brown BRD sahagins as your second or third mob to fight for chains since they are much easier and faster to kill than the others (spend half the fight just casting songs on themselves instead of fighting, rarely needed more than one leech to take down).

I highly doubt you can kill lv47 Gobs with using lv41 Crawlers, this sounds like playing Roulette to me, that is, the moment you get your first mischarm (which will usually happen in 1 out of 5 cases, even with +10 Charisma gear) you are chased by a VT Goblin as well as DC Crawlers, they link so easily, guaranteed death.
Nevertheless the camp is usually already taken by another BST, when I try to go there, although most I asked how things were going they say they died 10 times already - they usually say that. The level gap between lv41 pets and lv47 gobs is just too high, and also Crawlers don't possess any TP moves that could
turn a battle (unlike Spiders' Sickle Slash or Dhalmel's Healing Breeze). Yuhtunga H-11 is too risky:)

MOBS TO FIGHT: Digger Wasps (14-17), Beady Beetles (15-18), Orcs [Grunts, Neckchoppers, Stonechuckers] (16-20), Land Pugils (17-19), Flytraps (18-22), Glide Bombs (20-21), Marsh Funguars (20-24)
NOTES: Camp at North Landing.
CONTRIBUTOR(S): NoOneLeft, Gahoo

At level 20, I visited the entire Carpenter's Landing zone. Every mob I came across was (T). I only found one beetle and one wasp that was Even to me.

North Landing, the Sandoria entrance to Carpenters Landing, is where these lower level mobs are.

Durginn I absolutely love this thread on hunting grounds. However you might want to take rolanberry fields off the list for places to exp. Let me briefly explain why.

Lastnight as per the guide my friend and i had a horrible experience with THF farmin the grub and the death wasps in the area. We ended up kiting around this angry quadav for ten minutes. I find it disturbing that on two seperate occasions within a span of minutes 2 different THF saw us running for a bee to use as a pet and either hit flee + steal or just used steal to get them before we could charm :/

If youre going to keep rolanberry fields on the list then maybe let people know that the mobs used as pets are money mobs for crafters and farmers of materials for the crafting community.

We used the alternative lastnight which was qufim island however we were competing with people levling their npc's >.>;

Kinda sux atm trying to level low level BST ; ; Everyone is either farming the mobs we use as pets or leveling their npc's on them.

There should be some sort of secret place we BST can put our threads and log into chek them out. I swear people come to this forum to find wher to level their NPC's or find mobs to farm :/

So far this has been a good experience for me. I don't have my AF Body yet and it might be why the Tough Rabbit will lose charm anywhere on the Snoll around 50%-75% HP left. I very rarely mischarm on any of the rabbits and none will con higher than Tough. There is only 1 Ice Elemental and it will spawn further back near the tunnel and I have only seen 1 Cwn Annwn when they do spawn and they will very rarely roam around past their spawn point. Staying out of the Buffalo's sight is extremely easy and they are nothing to worry about.

Also after I got 1k into level 59 I was about to logout so I decided to do something crazy (or so I thought) I charmed a EM Rabbit and tossed him at a Tough Buffalo. Let me say that me and that rabbit killed the Buffalo at the same speed as 2 level 75's that were farming them. Actually the rabbit destroyed the Buffalo I don't even think I gave the Buffalo a paper cut ;; but even with the rabbit by my side at the Buffalo's death I still gained 160 exp for the kill.

I have no clue how much the Snoll Arms go for but so far (from level 58 to 59)I have gained 22 of them.

Here are a couple areas I have been trying recently. Nice scenery to level in.

42-44: Pso'Xja (F-7 Enterance)
PETS TO CHARM: Diremite(42-45), Maze Lizards(43-45)
MOBS TO FIGHT: Diremite(42-45), Maze Lizards(43-45), Snowball(43-46)
NOTES:
Lizards link, Bombs magic agro. Might be smart to kill bomb first.

45-47: Misareaux Coast
PETS TO CHARM: Big Claw (45-48), Makara (46-49), Mantrap (45-49)
MOBS TO FIGHT: Big Claw (45-48), Makara (46-49),Mantrap (45-49), Diatryma (47-51)
NOTES:
Camp along the river that spans nothern portion of Misareaux Coast. Beware Makara and Diatryma agro and link, and Mantraps have a slight reistance to charm. If you have Sacrium access, you can zone there in case of an emergency.
45: Convert the crabs @ I-6 to EM and pull T Pugs and Crabs to the shore.
46: Add Makara to available pet list.
47: Add Diatryma to prey list.

Just a quick note to the bst who did not think the crawlers in Yuhunga could take out the gobs there. Also to the claim that when he talked with the bsts he finds there they come back with fine outside of the 10 deaths so far. I'd be more inclined to say the answer was one to say go away I'm here rather than a truthful one.
I did my time in that camp and in the camp across the zone into Yhoat. That camp can support 2 bst's easy and the gobbies commit gobbiecide more often than not so as long as you are prepared for it you will live. Don't put down a camp based on your feelings or beliefs until you try it yourself. Otherwise you will never make it past the early 60's in cape terrigan where you will use DC and Em hares or lizzies on VT++ gobbie shepherds, bandits, and mercs.

I was just leveling solo in Riverne Site #A01 as BST40/WHM20. Just some more things to add that I find useful:

-Hippogryphs have a Terror move that can be quite sucky.
-Hippogryphs also give extra EXP when killed. An EM Hippogryph, unchained would give me 110 EXP, and Ts give more.
-Riverne Vultures level range is less that 40-43, I would find an occasional DC. I'd say they are more 39-43.
-Hawkertraps are strong to fight, and no recommended to use as pets or prey (Pets only if you have lots of CHR+ and have lots of life. You can still mischarm like 4 times with +19 CHR).

Variable Hares vs Nival Raptor
4-6 BSTs tear them up, constant Chain 4s with exp ranging from 150 to 250 w/ a 61 in the party. Non-stop exp, Raptors are on a 5 minute timer and there are a lot of them. Camp at I-10/11 in the canyon outside the tunnel, nothing spawns there so you need to bring a pet from the entrance.
