Updated Hunting Grounds: Revised XP Guide for BeastmastersFollow

I think this would be a prudent time to remove this guide and begin a new sticky.

I propose that we link the new sticky to this thread and keep the 1-35 part of the guide and start afresh.

Not sure if the OP is still updating this thread, but perhaps this weekend I will start a new thread.

I would think that all the zones that you level with bombs would stay the same, would they not? Maybe a tad bit more of a run... but you don't really hang onto pets in bomb xp zones. Either a poof! or a boom!.. either way... no more buddy^^..

Hope to see some revisions made to this thread soon... Where are you Durginn?

Yes I tried it

I never had to swappets that many times, but perhaps mob levels have been adjusted in that area. Most times I ever had to swap was 3 if I remember correctly.

I am back...had to attend a last minute course for a few months and was away from typing on the guide. I will sift through the guide and update the info.

As for the update changing everything, I recommend that before I / we do anything rash and remove any info from the charts, have folks actually post modifications. I will update the guide with all of the posts added, and then we can modify or remove posts as needed.

Let me point out that there is some goodness with mobs disappearing after the pull. Foremost, it makes setting a spawn farm REAL easy! Do not like a level of a pet? Just move it and release. It will quickly respawn as a new level. Second, the Beastmaster update also gets BSTs spread out a bit more, so BSTs are not camped on top of each other.

What I foresee is this guide labeling good spawning points (H-11 has three pet wyverns from 78-82, etc...) instead of zoo campgrounds.

So, keep the updates coming, and I will post and adjust as best I can...and yes, Bostaunieux Oubliette is a great spot, if you go around the corner and get the aspics from the water hallway, instead of dragging them from the start....

Happy Hunting!

Please edit: Ulegeurande Range is not possible to solo at 57.
This will get you killed. The hares start at 58. I would like to know how this is possible. Tough pets lose charm very quickly, then you have 2 bunnies kickin ur ***** Unfortunately I thought that maybe you knew more about it than i did. 1400 xp down the drain.

Don't be a jerk about it. So you lost 1400xp. So what? I lost more then that helping with a LB2 run lastnight. I think anyone 57+ has died there. My first time, the snoll murdered me on the way to camp.

In case you were unaware of this fact, Durgin's post is a compilation of what people have posted. I have a BST LS post. Are you gonna come and tear me down if one of the linkshells is dead?

I appreciated your post right up till ". Unfourtunatly".

I think the reason why the range is suggested is because most bst have their AF by this time. Some T bunnys are going to be used here. I too think is kind of dumb so i never tried it.

/em still hasn't gotten his AF >.>

Grind it out in the citidel off of EM-T bombs. Yes its slow, but at least you won't die from mischarms or pets coming uncharmed. thats one of the key points to gaining exp. Doesn't matter what your exp/hour or exp/kill is if you are dying constantly.

I agree.. since the update, I've been going to various hunting spots that are listed on here and I've yet to come across one that absolutely will not work. Some areas may not be as good as they once were but so far I haven't seen one that I've totally had to skip... at least not around my level (currently 42)

I didn't level off this info, but I needed a puffball for the Toramarai Canal map quest so I went lloking for somewhere to get one, and preferrably some exp at the same time. I found Walking Trees named Leshys, in Lufaise Meadows!

Here's the data on them:
Family: Treant
# Found in Areas: Lufaise Meadows
Level: 52 - 54

* Not Aggro
* Not Linking
* Detects by Sound
* Based on Earth
* Weak against Darkness
* Weak against Fire

* Earth Crystal
* Dryad Root
* Ebony Log
* Kindred's Seal
* Mahogany Log
* Mistletoe
* Petrified Log
* Puffball
* Rosewood Log

Family: Sapling
# Found in Areas: Lufaise Meadows
Level: 45 - 50

* Not Aggro
* Linking
* Based on Earth
* Weak against Darkness
* Weak against Fire

* Earth Crystal
* Fruit Seeds
* Grain Seeds
* Treant Bulb
* Vegetable Seeds
This would be great exp for BST from 45 - 52 !!!
Here's how the link patterns work:

* Fight a Leshachikha and all the other Leshachikha in aggro range will link
* Charm a Leshachikha and set it on a Leshy, and any other Leshachikha in aggro range will link to the Leshy.
* Leshy are NOT charmable, per guage

In G-6 there is an open area - warning, fomors spawn at the north side ot the clearing at night. There are two entrances to the area, one from F-7 and the other from H-7. A Leshachikha spawns in each entrance making 2 camps available, since they don't aggro directly.

For farming, I was running in, charming a Leshachikha and set it on any Leshy not in aggro range of the other Leshachikhas. Let the pet die getting the Leshy down to 50% while you run back to camp. When the Leshy arrives, have your camp based Leshachikha charmed and ready and lay into the Leshy with the pet. Release just before you kill the Leshy for full exp, but not too soon or the pet will link back in. Rinse and repeat - they will spawn faster than you can kill them!!

In case of dire emergency, there is a zone very close by at E-6, not that a BST needs one of course ^^

I don't know you you're going to cut this down to fit in the guide, but there's the info, hope it helps someone!!

It is possible to level at labyrinth of onzozo at level 46, just make sure to look for DC and EM leeches and fight the goblins as i found it quite easy to look for on in the same room advised ad level 47-49

Just wanted to add some notes for Purgonorgo Island: Lv37-39

I came here at 38 and most mobs popped as follows:
Alroune (Black Mandies) few DC, mostly EM-T (38-39), some Lv40+.
Toucan mostly T, Lv39, some Lv40+, a few EM Lv38.
Almost all Coastal Opo-Opos Lv38.
Kraken 37-40.
Viscious Clot EM-T 38-40+.
Almost all Jagil (Pugils) spawned DC or Lv37.

If you came at Lv37 it would probably be possible to do Jagil vs. Jagil and the occassional Toucan. However sometimes even Lv38 Jagils will lose a fight to a higher-level Toucan, so you may need to pet swap.

The only Kraken I found was in the large open beach to the west, deep in a corner. If you can convert this Kraken to EM at 38 (and probably 37) and keep it, it will decimate the Toucans here. EM or DC Alrounes will also do great. The only problem with the western beach is there are only 2 Toucan spawns, so you have to fill chains with a mandy, which is a slow kill. I typically did this first. But the mobs repop very quickly (5min?) so if you take care to keep your good pets around, you can easily get chain 3-4 here. If you're daring you can charm some Opos, which will pretty much devasate things too, or use the Kraken to kill them to keep a chain going. Nothing aggros here except the Kraken and Viscious Clots.

Watch out for the clots! They seem to spawn at relatively high levels, so are quite difficult to charm. I got lucky with a DC one and played with it for a little while. These things have a DRAIN added effect in their normal attacks! Definitely want to avoid aggro at all costs, but they are scarce, and I generally found the place fast, safe, and private xp.

40-42; 44-46: Eastern Altepa Desert
PETS TO CHARM: Sand Beetles, (36-40), Desert Dhalmels (39-44), Sabotenders (42-46), Doom Scorpions (44-47)
MOBS TO FIGHT: Desert Dhalmels (39-44), Anticans [Decurio, Sagittarius, Speculator] (44-49), Doom Scorpions (44-47), Lost Souls (44-48), Goblins [Reaper, Trader, Poacher, Robber] (45-49)
40-42, Use beetles and Dhalmels vs. Dhalmels and Anticans.
44-46, Use Sabotenders and Scorpions vs. Goblins, Lost Souls, Anticans, and Scorpions.

I tried the sabotender/scorpion vs. goblins etc at level 44 last night and gave up after a couple of fights. Both make good pets but they're so few and scattered out over a large area that it's really difficult (and dangerous..dodging anticans, gobs and manticores ; ;) to get decent xp this way... especially since the anti-MPK update as you usually will have to charm and drag a pet a considerable distance.

On the other hand, Sanctuary of Zi'tah is an excellent spot at 44 as well as Crawlers' Nest if no parties are present killing nest beetles (and surprisingly, there wasn't when I was there)

I have a new one for you.

45-48 = Misareaux Coast.

45-47: EM Crabs versus EM and T Crabs.
47-48: EM Crabs versus T Pugils.
48-49: EM Pugils vs EM Pugils.

There's a bank on the river at I-6, just below the ledge. It's far enough from all the aggro to be safe, and there are half a dozen Bigclaw crabs and 3 or 4 Makaras right there for the taking. You have water to run through, and your camp is so close to the fighting that you can convert the 2 crabs closest to land and zoo them.

Spent 3 hours there today, it was very nice.

I just went to level in Newton Movaloplos as 65 BST. I thought it would be cool as there wasn't a single player in there except me. OMG! was I so so so wrong! Those mobs in there are waaaaaay too tough for thier con! Please be warned if you go there at 65. From full health I set a pet on a T Moblin Workman.... pulled the pet back to my camp... one spell later and two hits I'm in the orange!!! This is before I even get the pet to scratch the mob.

The mobs in there dont't play like T's... more like IT's! The Bugbears are hard to kill even as EMs. They are MNK type mobs so that's understandable... but I had an extremely rough time in there and warped out before I suffered a second death. Thank the lord fro reraise Gorgets... so it wasn't a total waste.

in the new expansion, the wodland area, you can do bees vs bees or birds. i recommoned birds, but there is only 2 near bee spawn, more spawn, bu have to run by then elephant/pig mobs.. so when waiting for respawn, i would do bees, not a good idea, but sometimes i got lucky and they wouldnt use pollen for 1k+.. works well at 62, no idea about 62-? i'll post about my results as i learn them.

went till 64, back to terrigan.. /sigh
