Hi there fellow BSTs. I've been playing this game for years on and off, and recently came back (On sylph) to play a brand new character. As a game designer, I'm always interested to see how games evolve, and am having lots of fun with the new lowbie experience.
Since I don't care much for XP leeching or alliance-grinding (I feel that I somehow don't deserve the XP if I don't have to put some effort to get it), I have been soloing a lot of GoV pages on my dancer (up to 60) and now BST (up to 51).
Since I solo, I try to keep my gear updated as much as possible, but defensive stats aren't quite worth it against swarms of easy prey, and accuracy is also not needed. This lead me to believe that I should stack on haste (when possible) and attack, instead. It's a completely different way of gearing than back in the days.
I got myself quite a few interesting pieces that I remember overlooking in the past. Assailant's Ring, Spiked Finger Gauntlets. I also bought myself a Byrnie for level 60.
And now the trick question.
I know that until I can get haste to replace my +attack, I'm probably better off meleeing in my attack gear, but for WS, such as rampage, should I use the +attack, or a +stat gear?
The question will mostly be useful once I get to 78 and start using the perle set, since the haste set bonus is wasted on WS, but I'm interested to know how attack impacts WS damage, and also at which point should I stop stacking attack?
Keep in mind that I plan to mostly XP solo, on easy/decent challenge. I don't usually fight even match (but I do love to charm them)
With 8 str, 4 dex and 8 accuracy and 8 attack, Perle Hauberk does seem like it would be a better WS piece than Byrnie. Can anyone confirm if my gut feeling is right?
Thanks a lot for the help!
